Well, for one, he hasn't shown the ability to stay healthy. That aside, where and when has he shown plenty of promise? I like him, but he's throwing at a 56 completion %. Was already sacked a bunch of times also.

The Bills started the season with 2 rookie QBs, and nobody on the roster that had taken an NFL snap I believe. I need to see someone play an entire season and make progress before I'm not taking a QB in rounds 1,2 or 3.

Why would the Bills NOT draft another QB this year? You can't just take a guy and then exclaim "he's our guy" for the next three or four years when you're starting with nothing.

The Saints have Brees, and we have, well, nobody. The secondary is not good either.

Check out the passing completion %: 56 %. That's with completions to backs in the backfield who get dropped for loss.

Buddy? Is that you? You old fox!!! Seriously, Buddy Nix was the savior? What did he save is from? Perrenial 7 - 9 seasons? Being bored to death every Sunday by Tricky Dick? Having a legit QB for the first time in over a decade? The horrors of having to purchase playoff tickets?

Buddy: 1. failed to draft a QB for three years, leaving the Bills in the horrible position they are now at that position. 2. brought in a Chan Gailey, who was not a viable head coach candidate. 3. allowed Chan to be OC and HC, which was a bad mistake. 4. after three years, had one of the worst D units in the history of the Bills. 5. kept on insisting Fitz was their guy, when clearly he was not an NFL starter and couldn't throw the ball. 6. took the Bills to a worse win/loss record over three years than the previous regime. 7. drafting? No comment. What else do we really need to know?

I think is's all a great strategy: Our OC is setting them up for later in the year when he DOESN"T run up the middle on 1st downs!

Hmm, I was tracking the game on NFL.com, maybe I'm wrong. My bad.

At that point in the game, the Bills D had given up over 200 yards and large chunks. They ended up giving up nearly 300 yards by half time I believe. So, there are a whole lot of reasons to doubt the defense, which going into the game had been worked regularly.

Nice post . I agree 100 %. This year may be deeper with QB prospects than last years draft, and although some may be of the opinion of not taking a QB two years in a row, I see it as making up for the failure to take ANY QB for the years previous to E.J., and now that pain has to be endured now. IMO The Bills have maybe 1 real NFL QB, maybe not time will tell. As above: it's a QB league, Bills don't have one for next week and maybe longer, keeping drafting.

I THINK he's correct.

This was a four (4) win team before the season started, and they still are. o The O line had some questions before the season started, and still does. o The secoundary was also an area of concern, for me anyhow, and now has been hit with injuries. o You have a rookie QB slated to start, and has, with consistency and accuracy issues, as were the scouting reports on him.

... and the Bills barely just scored 20+ points having 5 turnovers and running for 150+ yards.

Interesting also. My thinking is, as another poster mentioned, when they are in tight games a fumble issue could be huge. Also, imagine if they hold onto the ball AND get the picks another poster mentioned to help the turnover ratio? This team could really win some games.
