What is happening with our receivers - Warning - stats

Pete Carroll has found a way to win games, without huge QB/receiving numbers. Defense MAY be part of the formula??? -

Defense in top # 1 or # 2 or # 3? -
It's funny how some posters here just completely neglect or ignore any stats. It's easier to dismiss all stats that to understand and try to apply them. IMO.

Looking at receiving (Receiver) stats some the other day: Sammy Watkins shows up as did Fred. What is everyone else doing: Not much. I am counting 13 receptions through three games for these five receivers, not including Watkins. Do stats lie? o What has happened to Robert Woods? Had very high hopes with him. http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/15880/robert-woods o Mike Williams? I don't know. Beard may be slowing him down. http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/13489/mike-williams o Goodwin took that huge shot going over the middle, hope he's OK, probably not the place you want him with E.J. throwing the ball. IMO. Bad Buddy Pick? http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/15839/marquise-goodwin o Hogan? No stats. http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/14402/chris-hogan o Easley? No stats. http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/13224/marcus-easley

If Fitz beats us on Sunday, what will you do?

You're going to put him in the Louvre? I don't even know if that's POSSible. -
You mention stats again. I was looking for stats to show very short passing game, mostly to backs out of the backfield This pretty much supports that. You keep mentioning Cincy and Seattle: IF you would like to compare Cincy and Seattle to Buffalo, please do so.

OK. This Bills have no receiver in the top 30 in receiving yards. Sammy Watkins comes in at # 40 having had a great game the previous week against Miami. The next Bills player on the list is not a receiver, it's a running back: Fred. Love Fred. And based on the previous stat, you can imagine those yards for Fred are mostly or ALL YAC. The Bills essentially have no passing game as of yet: This is going to hurt them, really against teams with good QB play, unless their D can dominate.
-
Well, it was actually kind of about the passing game, or lack of it. I don't think you can look at this and say they even trying to go down field.
-
Hey, If the Bills can win like this, I'll be crying tears or JOY: believe me.
-
Seeing the first three games this years and noticing all the passes behind the LOS or just really short, I was looking for something other than this: however it's close. I would like something showing 5 10 15 and 20 yard attempts, completions and PCT. Notice in particular "AY Per Attempt" , AY = Air Yards. http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/quarterback-air-yards/2014/ FYI: I'm not saying I wouldn't do the same thing with our QB, it's just not going to work long term and shows the complete lack of production AND willingness to even call or attempt plays down field. I wonder how they calculate passes behind the LOS: just a "0" ?

We can let Marrone handle that during the bye week....

Bills Cornerbacks are terrible.
San-O replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because if the they throw at McLuvin they can get a TD: If they throw at Gilmore they can get a penalty and/or maybe he goes out hurt/injured??? -
EJ. stinks up the place a couple more times, and they will make the change during the bye week, or risk losing the season and the team.

Worst unit on the field: Giving up big plays all day. http://www.billsdaily.com/gameday/2014/sd/grades.shtml Goats Stephon Gilmore - Missed a handful of tackles in the game. Nickell Robey - Was beaten for a couple of big plays early before heading to the bench. Leodis McKelvin - Was beaten for a long play and was late in coverage on several occasions -
Buffalo Bills football pillows??
-
FWIW: I think the Bills know he has issues throwing the ball, and have crafted the play book to limit their exposure to throws he don't make. The Bills are 31st in the league in passing attempts: this is not an accident, it's their game plan and it's seems to be working for now. Let him be efficient, manage the game, and use their very good running game with three (3) backs. Use this formula on Sunday against the Chargers if possible, and keep Rivers off the field in the wet conditions.

Agreed. I don't know what they can do other than spread the field and stop running up the middle, particularly with C.J., it's maddening.
-
I read their RB is injured also???
-
LOL + 1 I'm weary of missing the playoffs, and wary anytime the Bills are favored.

Is Stephon Gilmore injury prone? Fragile?

LOL. I am wondering if he is going to continue to be in and out of the lineup. Could effect the Bills should they be in it, later in the year I guess. -
Entering his 3rd year, average + player? Maybe just average? He missed a lot last year as we all know, and did not start this season: listed as probable for this weekend. Corey Graham did look very good last week, I think . http://www.nfl.com/p...2533062/profile Final Practice Report: Bills: OUT: LB Keith Rivers (Groin). DOUBTFUL: S Jonathan Meeks (Neck); TE Lee Smith (Toe). PROBABLE: S Aaron Williams (Head); WR Sammy Watkins (Ribs); CB Stephon Gilmore (Groin); WR Chris Hogan (Ankle).

Teams know to go after McLuvin. They D gave up over 350 passing yards I believe, which is a lot.
-
Awesome. I think that's the only chance the Bills really have is to run run and run the ball. Asking E.J. to throw is going to be a big mistake IMO.
