Andre Reed Talks About Josh Allen
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to PoundingDog's topic in The Stadium Wall
I haven’t watched yet, so I am basing this on OP’s summary. but it’s somewhat laughable for any former Bill to call “reaching the Super Bowl” as some gold standard to be among the greats. Maybe winning a SB. But reaching one is a a pretty phony standard that only the 90s Bills would argue for. -
Wait? What? We have Samuel for 3 years?! Wow— what a mistake.

NFL officiating is broken. How do we fix it?
Miyagi-Do Karate replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just feel like replay has become so overdone that I would rather live with the mistakes. I also think it would eliminate what I find to be the most annoying replays— the “did the ball move” catches? A “catch” is almost more discernible to see in real time than on slow mo replay. -
makes total sense. When you said USVI, I almost assumed St. Croix, because it strikes me as having more to offer beyond the beach and just more basic stores and things. I probably like it least of the three, but have always thought it was the one island there that would be easy to live on. I absolutely love St. John, but I get your point. Probably would lose its luster after a while.

To me, option 1 is so much better. Won’t slow down the game. I also think the result would be a focus on important calls that matter to the play. for example, how many times is there some silly penalty or non-call away from the ball that has no bearing on anything? even last night on the 2-point conversion, yeah, Giesicki was held, but at no point was burrow looking his way on the route. And burrow’s face mask was touched, but it didn’t impact his movement or throw. I can live with those errors. -
out of curiosity, any reason you wouldn’t go back to the USVI? At least as a vacationer, I absolutely love it down there!

I would go the totally opposite way. No instant replays, no challenges. Simplify the rules. Just call what you see and move on. the “problem” isn’t the officiating. The officiating has actually gotten a lot better. The problem is we now have about a thousand cameras in slo mo reviewing every angle of a guy’s shin possibly touching down, which makes every call or non call subject to scrutiny. they need to just simplify the rules (eg, what is a catch?), and make quick common sense decisions, and we should accept that errors will be made but that they will mostly get things right. -
If he catches even one pass, I would be shocked. but I can see why your screen name is “keep the faith”! 😁

Anyone remember the famous Pat Moran breaking story about Merriman smuggling cocaine in from Canada? He even swore on his daughter’s life it was true! Turned out to be false or at least not substantiated. Edit: found a story about it. The rumor was smuggling steroids. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/812031-buffalo-bills-shawne-merriman-denies-steroid-allegations-and-online-rumors edit: and here was the thread on here about it!
