Could not agree with you more. The last franchise quarterback the Bills had cared immensely about winning in everything that he did. Whether it was a game or euchre on the team plane, he wanted to win every time. Josh is always passionate in competition. I love it!!!

POLL: Is Jordan Poyer taking the off-season seriously enough?
JoeF replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's difficult for me to imagine that this constitutes downtime for Poyer...seems like this would be more up time... -
Probably not worth your time now to do any research on him...but... https://12thman.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6427 Cannot find any indication of trouble at Texas A&M and in fact won a community service award. Bills will likely wait for the facts to unfold. However, if the young man did not inform the team of the arrest before the story broke, he is toast. Highly unlikely that is the case.

https://www.buffalobills.com/audio/dawson-knox-whatever-opportunity-i-m-given-i-want-to-make-the-most-of-it Okay, I like this kid (really impressive).....sorry for questioning his intellect. He definitely fits the culture. Walk-On on at Ole Miss. Hard work got him on the field. Learned a lot from playing behind Evan Engram. Waiting on other deals to get done to sign. Best part of the interview: - Grew up a Titans fan - Said he now believes that homerun throwback was a forward pass ?

Teams Wanting To Pick 1st in 2020.....
JoeF replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This might be crazy, but I also think Darnold is on shaky ground this year too. If the Jets have a bad start, I could see Gase wanting to toss out Darnold for Tua...I think our Josh is on much more stable ground than Darnold or Rosen when it comes to prospects for longevity with his current team. I never really thought about it before Rosen but rookie QBs on their first contract are really a tradeable and cut losses commodity in the slotting era...You may not get back huge value -- but the only way you are trading them is if you have a very high draft pick for a replacement. From then, trading the existing guy like the Cards did with Rosen is just cutting your losses. -

Kirby, I haven't watched nearly as much football as your dad, but I agree with him. The young man has an amazing ability to read defenses at the line. He must work his ass off in the film room and his instincts are off the charts. I think that alone translates and to Bill's original post-- that has to be attractive to Gruden, Gase, Zac Taylor in Cincy and the brain trust for the Dolphins. Attractive enough to tank the last half of a year. Speaking specifically of the Raiders, Carr forces the ball a lot and is not always careful with how he handles the rock (12 fumbles last year and 45 over a 5-year career). That ***** has to drive Gruden crazy. So, I think tanking enters a team's thinking about the halfway point of the season. They firesale upcoming UFAs for picks and start to position themselves to get where they need to be in the draft to get the QB they want. Beane executed this perfectly his first abbreviated off-season, even getting an early start with the Watkins and Darby trades. The Dareus trade was the kicker. Then McDermott screwed it up by making that group a playoff qualifier (way to go Coach...thanks for being so good at your job)....but they still managed to get the guy they wanted. -
Just picked up Thanksgiving tickets in Dallas. My son wanted to go as his HS graduation present. A great kid!!!

If the NFL were a flag league with 5-Mississippi rush, Nate would be on the fast track to Canton... -
I think SDS has insider knowledge of who gets in and who is out. I am hoping there are no Patriots fans allowed. They have been given enough here on earth. Give those other AFC East fans and Cowboy fans some hell, Sue!

Would be great to have you back!

Sad news. Too young. At many times in many ways, her presence brought a smile to my face and even a belly laugh or two. RIP Sue.

A wonderful legacy for Ezra and his family. Once again Bills fans prove this is more than just a "team" thing. This is a large family bound together by our love for WNY, Buffalo (even if you weren't born there) and for each other. Even a man who grew up in El Paso in a family of Cowboy fans is embraced....RIP Ezra Castro...Viva Los Bills!!!! -
Do you make Las Vegas wagers on the Bills or the NFL in general?
JoeF replied to tomur67's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am in Las Vegas or Reno once a month for business...last year I bet on the Bills winning the Super Bowl for fun...I would have been better off following @House's advice and throw the money in the Truckee River.... -
Patrick PEDerson Suspended 1st 6 games for PEDS

Should have clarified...I meant Kevin not Taron...Bills need Taron to stay healthy for all 19 games, especially the Super Bowl. -

It's a legit question. Here is the website for the charity. http://www.theteachersdesk.org/media/ Their track record and media coverage is pretty inspiring. The video from the founder is really well done. The support from various organizations like the WalMart Foundation made me crack open my wallet and you know how much of a cheap bastage I am... -
Expectations for Josh Allen this year
JoeF replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hap, this is a great topic. I think Josh is going to be his most dangerous with a balanced attack. Most folks would interpret this as run/pass division which ranged from 2/3 pass and 1/3 run (Green Bay) last year to 47% pass and 53% run (Seattle). The league average was about 59% pass. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/passing-play-pct The Bills were 29th by the way with a 53.6 Pass/46.4 run ratio. I don't think the Run/Pass ratio is applicable to Josh. I think its a more complex ratio. Its: - Pure Run (play designed to hand off to a RB or a Jet Sweep) - RPO (Josh has the option - mostly for Red Zone or a down with less than 5 yards to go (could be second, third or fourth down) - Short Medium Pass Game - Routes all 15 yards or less and less than three-second release - Full Route Tree Pass game - includes deeper routes of 15 yards or more I think making a defense prepare for all 4 segments of this balanced offense and running all 4 types of plays from the same sets of formations is key to Josh's success. Josh proved last year that he can run all 4 types of plays but is probably weakest at Short Medium Pass Game and strongest with both his legs and arm in the Full Route Tree pass game and RPO. If Daboll can devise a scheme that mixes these four types of plays, Josh will average 250-300 total yards a game and the Bills running game will be top 5 in the league. If this works -- the Bills are likely a playoff team. I know its not stats per game or yards passing or completion percentage or TD passes..but I think this is the "balance" the Bills need to achieve.
