  1. Fabini is 31 who will be 32 before the start of the season. 8 Year Veteran with 5 consecutive years of not missing a game until last year. Here is Scouts Inc's take... Comment: He's just decent as a downfield run blocker and the more space he's in the less effective he becomes. However, with that said, Fabini is still a very solid starting LOT who uses his experience, power and toughness to get the job done at a very high level. Will jar many defenders upon initial contact. Does a good job of sustaining blocks and working to finish once he has locked on. He takes good angles and consistently does a good job with his first step as a run blocker. He is powerful at the POA and plays with a mean streak. Has adequate lower body strength and does a good job of driving his legs.
  2. Sources deep within.....deep within the fertilizer pile....
  3. The reason I decided to go ahead and post it was because the google search said it had only been on line for 2 hours -- that was this AM at 7....could have been written late last night to be read as today.
  4. Article from St. Louis Paper Pickett mention is near the bottom of the story. This article is a little strange--the by line is dated yesterday but it is on-line in today's edition. If this is true the "conflict" story may have been a bit of a ruse and the meeting with the media will be today.
  5. Wells profile from Scouts, Inc: Comment: He has outstanding overall size and bulk and good speed and movement for a big man. He shows decent short area pass protection and comes off the ball with pretty good explosiveness and quickness. You like his movement skills when he is attacking the defense in both the run game and the passing game and his versatility at OG and OT make him an interesting player. All of his problems start to show up when he is asked to move laterally and become an east-west type player. As good as his speed is, it appears to be straight line, and when you ask him to slide and adjust, he is not the same player. His ability to sustain blocks and keep his feet moving is suspect at times, and you don't always see great balance. He doesn't adjust to a moving target very well, and despite his speed, he is not a great space player. He needs to become a better lateral player, and his east and west movement needs to become as comfortable as his north and south movements. When that happens, this is a young guy who could develop into a pretty solid football player, and there is every reason to think that his progress will continue Rated a 68 on their scale...to give some reference on that -- Bennie Anderson is a 72; Villarrial a 76; Stephen Neal a 67.... The person rating Bennie last year must have seen the first Jets game that I saw live--Bennie looked like a player...
  6. This just in..... KFFL Hot of the Wire: Crap Throwing Monkey reports Dan Snyder has misplaced his check book and ATM card thus delaying the resurrection of Joe Theismann's Redskins playing career....Theismann was due to sign a 10 year $120M personal services contract that includes a roles as owner's suck up/yes man; Tiny Tim in the Redskins annual rendition of a Christmas Carol and 5th string -- twice removed punt returner. In related news, fomer Redskins suck up/yes man Vinny Cerato was promoted to butt boy....
  7. What kind of contract is the Easter Bunny looking for..I heard he is elusive and is great near the goal line....plus he always leaves chocolate replicas of himself as kind of a calling card thing...
  8. I think the next 6 weeks prior to the draft are focused on the following positions with some "still available" names for consideration Offensive Tackle-Ashworth, Runyan, McDougle, Fabini, Pearson Interior Offensive Line-Mawae, Reyes, Flannagan, Neal, Dockery, Faine (if the Brownies try to trade him); Manuwai (wait until the Jags spend their FA $'s and then swoop in and make him a large offer) Defensive Tackle-Bernard, Russell Davis, Langston Moore, Grady Jackson (I know--may not fit the style)... Safety-Will Demps, Dexter Jackson, Terrence Holt (RFA-5th rounder) Another QB-McNown I also think they try hard to resign Ryan Denny and Greg Jerman to a reasonable deals.... Whatever of this we can't do in FA gets done in the first 4 picks of the draft.. I would be pleased if we signed.. 1 OT from the list 1 Interior OL from the list 1 more Defensive Tackle from the list and then got Denny and German into the fold
  9. He looked all world against us last year...jesus--accurate all over the field including deep. He keeps his nickname...Drew Ocean Brees....YIKES....
  10. Pure speculation my martyr friend. The total contract was reported to be 5 years.$5.5M SB and $18 Million total value. So $5.5 Million SB for a five year contract--the amoritized bonus is correct..I am figuring that the first year of the contract is a relatively tame salary year with a couple $4M salary years packed into the last couple. Same concept with Royal...low bases the first couple of years and then escalating.. There are probably bonuses and other incentives--but this gives some basics...
  11. I know--but I really try to look on my fanship of the Bills as enjoyment rather than some form of martyrdom.....oh well--call me crazy...call my pollyanna...call me a Marv/Ralph butt boy..... No one really likes 5-11 seasons and 7 years out of the playoffs--but lets give these new/old guys a chance....read the quotes from David Dunn, Tripplett's agent-- "In three hours he became enamored with Levy and Jauron"....hopefully this is a disease that is catchy--
  12. John Clayton reporting on ESPN Insider that the Davis deal is one year for $1.3 Million. Interesting.... So we start with $15 Million...the cap figures for '06 of the three new Bills probably work out something like this.. Royal $500K Amoritized Bonus, Vet Minimum Salary $600K - Cap hit $1.1 Million Tripplett $1.1 Million Amoritized Bonus, probably 1.5 Million Salary--$2.6 Million Davis-$1.3 Milllion cap hit So three free agents; $5.0 Million cap hit...three holes filled..and still plenty of money to spend.....plus if we keep Moulds--he probably converts some base salary to signing bonus and maybe a one or two year extension to get more money up front..this may cover the rookie cap needed so the $10M may be money left to spend--still lots of cash...enough to sign a pricey DT and 2 OL's....
  13. My guess is that this is Josh Reed's replacement -- not Moulds'...you keep Aiken because of the special teams ability and he is relatively cheap...no one will want to give up a 4th to get Aiken which is what it will take.
  14. Davis audio is up on bb.com. Holcomb called him before the start of FA and sold him on the visit....interesting...they played together in Cleveland. He has no other visits scheduled...was headed home to talk the Bills situation over with his wife.
  15. Royal makes about $500K in base this year and his amoritized bonus portion is $500K Why are some people so upset....my six week hiatus from posting was not enough.. -- I need to go back to lurker status... Are we missing some guys we may have wanted? Not sure--I like Joe J., Shaffer from Atlanta; Bentley was a pipe dream (or maybe even a Bentley while we may be looking for a Range Rover) but there are 400+ free agents out there after the cuts (including RFA's and EFA's) -- a few lineman, a safety and some others are bound to trickle our way....
  16. Either that or he has some secret deformity that has not yet come to light. I heard he was an habitual wheezer....and he worked in a nursing home when he was young--making him the perfect fit for our front office....
  17. Andre Davis Larry Tripplett First three stories with Royal
  18. Good thoughts, but Turner signed with the 49ers as their OC
  19. I am in awe of your first post.... Welcome...
  20. That is some awesome work JDG.....DJ be a group four please..
  21. Every fan poll I saw was 65-85% preferring Sherman among the 6 interview candidates and Has. This reaction is pretty normal when you have that compelling a majority wanting something that does not come to pass. The facts in favor of Sherman were pretty compelling...he would have had a honeymoon period with the majority of the fans...there is no honeymoon for DJ. Free Agency, The Draft, Mini-Camp, Camp, Pre-Season will all be scrutinized for signs of failure...and every one of these signs, no matter how insignificant, will be played out on this board. But you know, we are a mercurial bunch -- start the season with a disciplined team that shows benefit of coaching on offense, defense and special teams and wins a few games early and this group will come around. The thing we have lost is the immediate confidence and glee that hiring Sherman would have brought...But since the merger, the Bills have never been about immediate gratification...there have always been long suffering periods followed by dribs and drabs of success--and then almost a decade of success followed by the current malaise.. So you know what..I choose not to pass judgement either way regarding the real tards on the board. You can make an argument for and against both the "Jauron will do okay crowd" and the "Jauron will further kill this franchise" crowd. I will give the man the opportunity to show me what kind of coach he is before I cast stones--but it doesn't bother me that some are more intelligent than me and have already reached their own conclusions. So folks, post on--no matter what your opinion--but do take time this fall to cheer for the Bills on the field and try to objectively analyze what you are seeing..if its bad--stay angry or feel vindicated--if its good--give this 55 year old father of two daughters a chance to win you over or brag about how you predicted he was the next Marv. This nonsensical rant is over....

  24. You held up very well through this rash of press events. You are well conditioned and high effort...the Bills should offer you a lucrative contract extension. Here's an advance -- some expensive polish (that's not the kielbasa kind but the wax kind). Job well done...you will fit in well in the Dick era. Expensive British Furniture Polish
