  1. Look what the Cardinals are doing with Boldin tonight...
  2. And what if San Diego becomes a factor in the wild card?... Granted they could have won in OT, but I'd hate to be the team that loses out because Edwards tried to make a statement...
  3. From Pro Football Weekly: http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFLDr.../wwhi041608.htm "(Tennessee State CB) Dominic Rodgers-Cromartie is too tall, does not tackle and only has one kidney, and I’m supposed to be excited? He’s got 'bust' written all over him. Take away his last name and do you think everyone would be as excited?"
  4. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...t.532bcdf5.html Rick Gosselin, widely renowned for the accuracy his mock drafts, has us taking Albert as well
  5. FWIW, Hall was on "Movin' the Chains" today and said his preference would be to play in a warm weather city... Tim Ryan then specifically asked Hall what he would think if Buffalo drafted him at the 12 spot... Hall backtracked, saying he played in bad winters in Michigan, and it wouldn't be a problem... But his initial statement made it pretty clear he wouldn't exactly love it...
  6. He does Yoga... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedi.../content.1.html
  7. Pretty hard to argue that, over the last two years, Darwin Walker was the best player of the three in the Bills/Eagles trade... An oversimplification perhaps, particularly in light of Spikes' injuries and the ramifications of the salary cap in the NFL... But it's still true...
  8. Tigers' coach Andy Van Slyke talking about the media coverage that their first pitchers fielding practice received... Recall last year that Detroit pitchers made a boatload of errors in the World Series: "Only baseball could come up with this. ... It would be like what's-his-name, the kicker from Buffalo, 'Wide Right,' Scott Norwood. He missed that field goal, and they lost, 21-19, in the Super Bowl. It would be like him, the next year, his first day of kicking field goals, finding 250 reporters around him watching him kicking field goals. It has nothing to do with it."
  9. "Skills" is a kind way to describe Shelton's ability - or lack thereof - to catch the ball... Stone hands, if you ask me...
  10. I wouldn't call the emphasis on DBs inexplicable... You can have six on the field at a time, so you need depth... The current depth is riddled with underachievers (Wire) and street free agents (Baker, Greer, Leonhard)... You've got a starting corner who is a free agent next year... When others become eligible for free agency, they demand huge contracts and are difficult to retain... The other starting corner, while good, makes his most visible contribution on special teams, increasing (even if slightly) the likelihood of injury...You've got a rapidly declining starting free safety... Sentiment toward the premium on DBs is also visible throughout the league... I recall a Sporting News article where Shanahan (love him or hate him) said something along the lines that he would consider a DB in the top three rounds of the draft every year, if a good enough one were available... in 2002, the Eagles took three DBs in the first two rounds... OK... I'll stop now...
  11. The latest Sports Weekly had an article that acknowledged Baltimore's interest in Whitner, but they were targeting him in the event they traded down... Once we took him, they locked in on Ngata and traded up with Cleveland...
  12. Far from calling it a lock, Gil Brandt alluded to the possibility of the Bills taking Winston Justice at #8...
  13. .... So many profiles, the latest in this week's Sports Weekly, talk about his diverse tastes, religious studies, disinterest in money, etc... His talent seems unquestioned, but when weighing his long-term impact and you're drafting in the top ten, do you at least have to consider a Robert Smith-esque attitude toward the game that translates into underachievement or early retirement?
