  1. Gandy was a street FA--he was cut by the Bears in 04--he does not count in the equation.
  2. That is correct..they cannot be traded... So we lost Jennings and Williams to free agency (Drew and other cuts do not count) Gained Holcomb, Bennie Anderson (Gandy was a Street FA so he does not count in the equation) They have some weird formula to net things out...but we lost two quality starters and picked up two part-time starters.. We should be getting something...of course we have been hosed the last few years...I would be disappointed if we don't net two picks--maybe a fourth and a sixth...
  3. He's really expensive depth for a pure center...and his durability is almost Jonas Jennings like. Bart or another ND'r can tell you--the guy left a lot on the field in South Bend -- his ankle and back are somewhat in chronically bad shape...I love him -- but he proably isn't the answer...
  4. We don't need Faine now that we have Fowler. Faine is limited to Center and so is Fowler..Preston can play either position. We need a quality LG now..I am okay addressing LG in the 2nd or 3rd round of the draft--interior OL tend to develop quicker and adjust to the pro game speed better than OT's..so its not unrealistic to assume we can draft someone in the top 100 who can fill this slot. I am a huge Faine fan--he was a warrior at ND...but it would be a waste to spend money on him...
  5. That's the going rate for a speed bump/matador in DC
  6. Just award them the trophy now....good God -- they just went from a powerhouse to invincible with the Alabama Mauler on their side.
  7. Dare I say a "Fine Young Man"
  8. While everyone is entitled to their opinion...The Jets game that I attended in person last year..Denny had 2 sacks where he fought through double teams..the guy has some talents and has developed! He is a fine rotational DE...a high character guy...Welcome back Ryan.
  9. So you don't want him as a rotational DE....he had almost equal stats to Kelsay last year and way better stats than Izzy....
  10. Like our own Ryan Denney perhaps....
  11. I am guessing Roger Daltry or Robert Plante...
  12. Wells and Izzy should cut Marv his 3% agent fee...
  13. Couldn't be that he still holds a grudge from Marv cutting him...and more recently from Marv not looking at his buddy Haz for the head coach...nah couldn't be. My gosh, he would never let his personal feelings cloud his balanced, educated and unbiased opinions. Gave me a laugh--thanks PTR.... from Wikipedia just for laughs... Quote from CNN/SI - NFL Football "I wanted him to tell me face-to-face what was happening," Smerlas says. "For a while I wanted to head-butt him to death." Smerlas shrugs. "But who wants to tell a 300-pound Greek he has to go?" -Smerlas on being cut by Buffalo Bills coach Marv Levy
  14. His position coach for the Browns now works for the Bills....Coach Zierlein Wonder if this had anything to do with the signing...
  15. I have just determined that my bulk is only slightly above average....
  16. Forgot about Bennett...thanks Jokeman..
  17. You have to love a guy when the first line of his Scout's inc profile talks about his excellent bulk... Possesses excellent bulk, engulfs undersized defenders at the point of attack and can wear defenders down over the course of a game. Shows adequate initial quickness and rarely takes false steps. Takes good angles to blocks and generally gets into good position. Plays with a wide base and rarely gives ground to bull rushers despite the fact bends at the waist rather than the knees. Has lost some quickness with age and has problems keeping upper echelon one-gap defenders out of the backfield. No longer has great range and isn't as effective pulling and trapping. Lacks ideal agility, doesn't always play under control in space and has some problems adjusting to the moving target at the second level. While shows good awareness in pass protection needs to do a better job of sliding off original block to pick up the linebacker when combo run blocking with center. Fails to extend arms at times, tends to wear down late in games and effort appears somewhat inconsistent.
  18. Tip--you're carrying the chip on your shoulder for our beloved TD baby...I love it, but he's gone....people probably actually return Marv's calls....
  19. If they are willing to part with both the 15 and the 22nd they can have a legit shot at Cutler or Young at #8 and they can have Moulds.... We get more reasonable contracts for both an offensive and defensive lineman
  20. ...and Bush goes to.....wow....NO? Where they are uncertain of Deuce's recovery
  21. Trade Broncos now hold picks 15 and 22 of the first round. Rumor is they want a QB with their pick...so....Whats the value of Moulds and the #8 for the 15, 22 Draft value chart says 8th pick is worth 1400 15th is worth 1050 22nd is worth 780 Moulds' value would be 430 which is like a mid second rounder
  22. I agree on Miami Mad--but NE is Bethel Johnson, Deion Branch and Reeche Caldwell -- plus Ben Watson is like another WO...Moulds makes that whole group better and they need another clutch guy to go with Branch...I still think Denver outbids everyone...
  23. I don't know Tom--there are no difference makers left at the position with TO and Keyshawn gone...Eric is the last one. This is a smart way to go. Wait until the market is depleted and then let him seek a trade...I think we can get a 3rd rounder...especially from Denver--they have two #1's -- in fact I bet if we packaged Eric and our second we can get their later #1...
  24. Denver, Miami, Philly, Minny or New England will bite....all have the cap room -- all have the desire not to see him hit the open market. They get him and then re-neg...any of them work because they all have playoff potential for E Moulds... This is the beginning of the end....See ya 80--thanks for the memories...
