I think it was Ricky after he saw this gem.... Jason as wicky--not sure what Zach's sister is dressed as here...

Marv was salavating about Brick in his post draft press conference. Said VERY few tackles and QB's come in ready to play ...Brick is one who is ready to play.

Did he clear his comments through Mort first? Jesus if he wasn't retiring he would get his ass handed to him in next year's draft coverage. -
another probable reason for the bills staying at 8

Allen is also recovering from a dislocated hip. The dropoff and risk here in waiting to take Whitner were big. Same with McCargo--the next choice at DT on the Bills talent board (not the charachter board) was an alleged drug trafficker...You can accuse the braintrust of being conservative but I think time will tell that they made bold moves to get the guys they wanted and guys that fit the system. Whether they can play or not...well the draft is a crapshoot....lets hope we rolled a pair of sevens.. -
Rumor in D-Town was the Lions wanted

Another thought on this...The Lions went Safety in round 2....kind of adds credence that they were looking for a S early. -

Next year the Bills are going to call Mort before doing anything on draft day... Marv: Hi Mort Mort: Hi you incompetent old fart who replaced my best friend Marv: Is it okay if I go pinch a loaf Mort: Forgot your Depends huh you fossil... Marv: You're the smartest guy I know Mort...how's your kid doing at Arkansas? Mort: He transfered you senile fool.. Marv: Oh I forgot he couldn't break the depth chart..I can't wait to have the opportunity to draft him in the 1st round... -

He is the NSA and CIA of guards.....if we were told how good he was they would have to kill us. Only Marv had the proper clearances... -

I think we are looking at Eric Winston and he will probably still be at 70. -
Never lose the ability to laugh. Maybe the LA Raiders and LA Rams had better drafts as well. Again I don't know very much about talent evaluation but every NC State game I attended (probably 7 in the last 3 years) #90 was in the offensive backfield a lot--particularly on running plays....
-
That they did....but you have to start somewhere...this pick was based on the depth of talent at this particular position in the draft and the ability to fill an immediate need...I am willing to watch the rest of the draft before I pan this. I think they didn't see enough difference between a Ngata and Bunkley and a McCargo, Wright, Watson or Wroten to make a difference but the drop off in safety after Huff and Whitner was pronounced...lets see where we go...

Marv from the press conference (now on bb.com)...the last 6 super bowl champions all had pro bowlers or should have been pro bowlers at Strong Safety 2000 Rod Woodson 2001 Lawyer Milloy 2002 John Lynch 2003-04 Rodney Harrison (Should have been) 2005 Troy Palomalu Thinks Whitmer has this type of talent.

If Leinart slides to #8, is anyone tempted?
JoeF replied to N.Y. Orangeman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reggie Bush had to push him into the End Zone to beat Notre Dame...He couldn't even do that on his own...he's too much of a pretty boy. -
Any off the wall predictions.... Here's my two..first is not draft related...but sometime during the day the Bills will announce that either Jason Peters or Nate Clements have agreed to a long term deal. Second is that we will make at least two trades...the first is with Philly -- we will move to #14 and get their #3 pick (76) and DT Hollis Thomas and they get #8. Then we will package #42 and #73 to get the Bears first pick at #26. These are both from sources deep within...my toilet bowl...

Tempted for sure.....but I think you are going to see very few offensive side of the ball picks the next two days. We dropped from 2nd to 29th on D. Jauron and Levy will stress Defense. They believe this is the way to win. An offensive tackle in the first 3 or 4 Bills picks could be it-on the O side-but we may add a G in the later rounds just because the position is so deep. This is going to be a heavy D laden draft...with players added at just about every Defensive position...DT, LB, Safety being the priorities. I know everyone says why LB? Here's why... 1) Posey and Fletcher contract years -- and Posey not active enough 2) TKO coming off a major injury 3) Crowell and Haggan are really great depth--Stamer is okay but makes his living on ST. Bottom line -- we need to add another potential playmaker to this list for this year and the future. Also, the great thing about LB, S and CB is that they are usually the backbone of special teams so you get some immediate return even if they are not starters. Prediction... Draft will be--with a trade down--with either the Rams, Cards or Philly that nets us another top 100 pick.... 2 DT's 1 DE 2 CB' 2 LB's 1 Safety 1 OT 1 OG 1 Offense slash (like a Leon Washington--RB/RS).. I think the 5 picks in the top 100 will be a DT, DE, LB, OT and a Safety in no particular order.... -
I can't believe my teammates suck as bad as they do....

McNair is very conservative in his beliefs and values...this stuff with Bush's stepfather and mother had a lot to do with this I bet....You know the Texans dug into this all week. Kubiak was so set on this guy..something had to change his mind. Check this Out--Mario Williams is Sam Bowie Thread...

Just from watching him in college..He doesn't have the initial burst of Peppers (neither does anyone else in this and nearby solar systems) but he has more strength and probably a larger set of moves right now. I don't think he will be as disruptive as Peppers but he is more stout against the run. He will be a great one but I wouldn't expect him to move into a immediate double digit sack years.
