Impressed with both of them. Particularly Ashton. Very mature kids -- all three of them in fact. They gave McCargo the chance to say he was under noticed because of Williams and Lawson and he used it as a positive..we worked as a team was his comment. The exuberance of youth....all fine young men.

Texans cut two 28 year old large defensive tackles in Junior Ioane and Jerry DeLoach...they may be camp fodder but we still need help at the "1" tackle position...worth the vet min or even a two year contract with a small bonus to put them in the field...particularly DeLoach... Texan Cuts DeLoach from Scouts Inc. Comment: DeLoach doesn't make many big plays, but he does an excellent job of holding his ground at the point of attack and keeping blockers off the linebackers. Has decent instincts, shows the ability to locate the ball carrier and rarely gets caught out of position. Plays under control in space and has enough athletic ability to make plays on the move. Plays with a non-stop motor and will make some plays with second effort. Lacks the explosive first step to shoot the inside gap and won't make many plays in the backfield. Isn't fast enough to consistently turn the corner as an end and doesn't show great closing speed to the quarterback. He doesn't have great range and is better in a short area fist fight.

Thanks Lori. Looks like he has put on about 15 lbs since the college season ended. College profile listed him in the mid-250's draft profile at 270...interesting. Read the story about his mom...definitely makes you hope that he makes it, at least practice squad. I think we will keep 4 DE's so a spot is there for the taking especially if he can contribute on ST...

Its obvious to me. Noone in the pro game other than Norm Chow worked with Leinart day to day for three years. Norm's opinion had to leave some room for debate or Leinart would be a Titan. I will offer a bit of a contra opinion in that..Young is more similar to McNair than Leinart is. The Titans have built offensive talent around a style like McNair's...if the Leinart vs. Young talent assessment was equal or very close--the surrounding talent and their skills or lack there of may have been a determining factor....
