Joe Marino's Locked on Bills Mock Free Agency
BillsFan130 replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Let's say they don't re structure, and they cut Knox after this year. Do you know what the savings would be? -
TRADE: Mac Jones headed to the Jags

I wonder if this means Patriots are commiting to Daniels or Maye as their first pick -

Yep. And Schultz 3 years 36. (He's way more dynamic than Knox) Re structuring average players who are already overpaid is how you get in trouble with the cap, so I hope the bills don't re structure as well -

I hope the bills don't re structure Knox. i believe there's an out after next year, and I would rather cut ties with his contract opposed to committing to it longer Whether you're a Knox fan or not, Objectively it's a bad contract, so why would you marry yourself to it -
Chris Jones signs with KC 5yr $95M guaranteed
BillsFan130 replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yep. It seems like a very similar type of contract Von miller got. (Except more money of course) Where it's gonna say 5 years. But it's really a 3 year deal that has a good chance to re structure after year 1 -

Interesting , cause when I first listened I actually thought it was conservative. You are absolutely right though that it's aggressive in clearing cap space and making moves. But I think it's conservative in the fact that he didn't really go after any double digit million guys (per year) , and choose to spread the money out to a bunch of "middling " to "low end" guys. I guess it depends how you look at it💪 -

Ya Probably on paper so the agent can fluff up the numbers a bit. But with the 95 mil Guaranteed, it's probably something like a 3 year, 95 mil dollar deal -

95 guaranteed over "5 years." Probably means it's looking like a 3 year, 32.5 mil per year roughly -
He was a top 5 corner for sure in his prime. Probably even top 3 If you are an all pro player, you are elite at your position for that season

Rasul Douglas contract restructure... saves $2.5 mill
BillsFan130 replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
But wouldn't that fall under "void year's " technically though? -
It had to be done I think, but this sucks. Love Tre
-
Why? I wonder if this has to do more with tyler bass being comfortable with him as the holder. Cause I don't get this, unless it's just for camp reps
-
Yep. Possibly extensions with Dawkins/Taron as well which would save another 12 mil

Ahh ok thanks. I didn't know you could do that with only one year left on the deal -

Re structure in the last year of his deal? Would this mean void years added on potentially? -
Takeaways from Beane's Combine pressers
BillsFan130 replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Technically yes, but a 10 mil hard cap hit isn't ideal at all. It's in both parties best interest to come to an extension. 1. Douglas gets security 2. Bills clear much needed cap space But if Douglas is being unreasonable, it puts Beane in a tough spot for this years cap and future years -

No I know, I was just responding to the comment where it said it would be ridiculous to get rid of Douglas. The more I think about it, the more I think it's possible- especially if Douglas is asking for a massive extension and the bills can save 10 mil with 0 dead cap -

BillsFan130 replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
True. But what happens if he is asking for a ridiculous contract? If the Bills keep him, they almost have to lower his cap number by extending him. And if he's asking for a ridiculous contract, I don't think it would be wise to give that to a guy nearing 30 in a position where you need to be quick. -

Ya I agree. I was more just speculating because if they release Douglas, I would guess Tre would be back in some capacity. -

I would bet yes as he tore it October 1st and Achilles injuries these days typically seem to be 6- 9 month range. But regardless that would be a big gamble as who knows how effective he would even be -

The Douglas situation is fascinating to me. I wonder what the plan would be then: CB1: Benford CB2: Tre? CB3: Elam And then maybe draft a depth CB/ core 4 special teamer to fill the siran Neal role in the mid rounds? (If they were to cut Neal and save some cap that is)
