Ya that just shows me that this kid will never get it. He has been benched twice in a year and a half and was benched in that GAME.. And he still comes out like this in the biggest play of that game and dogs it? Put him on the bench for the rest of the season and just cut your losses with him after this year
-
That game really wasn't that bad on offence. McDermott kicked 3 field goals when they were close to scoring, or on 4th and shorts. Maybe trust your all world qb to make a few plays on those 4th and shorts and you're looking at 31-34 points instead of 24

That ravens game was played in a borderline hurricane lol. It's impossible to judge that game. Lamar and the ravens got 3 points for context. In totality for 2020 and 2021, the bills offence was ridiculously good in the playoffs
-
Daboll and Josh were literally unstoppable in the playoffs when it mattered most. Well I guess the only thing that stopped them was their head coach who couldn't defend 13 seconds
-
Even tasker? If tasker ever calls the team out, you know things are in rough shape haha
-
I would love for this to happen even as a passing game coordinator but... Put ourselves in Brian Dabolls shoes. Hes probably emotionally drained and will most likely take the rest of the season off

Please come back to Buffalo next season and let's go back to the days where they can actually throw a football past 5 yards

Do The Bills Have A Passing Game Problem?

Do The Bills Have A Passing Game Problem?

I Got mocked and chirped quite a bit for starting this thread after the week 3 dolphins win. But it was pretty obvious that the bills had a passing game problem and it got over shadowed by the 3-0 start at the time. You can only disguise it with short passes and screens for so long. No separation from the receivers and Joe Brady not scheming guys open -

What did he say there? I couldn't make it out. -
True! And the Vikings 2022 game. Almost forgot about that one lol

I know it's not a popular take, but this is legit what I'm hoping for as well. I doubt it happens as McDermott and Dabs had their differences, but I still think he's been by far the best O coordinator in the McDermott era -

Brandon Beane resisting the urge to call Cole Beasley out of retirement ^ -
I love garbage time stats👏

3 , three and outs today. Is that not stopping us?
-
Yes they are simple to stop. You'll see a common denominator that when cook is kept in check, this offence stalls. Just look at all their losses this year and check Cooks rushing output. Josh can bail them out at times as he's probably the best QB in the game, but more often than not we will see offensive production like this if teams can minimize Cook.
-
And here we are scoring 13 against one of the worst defences in football lol. The bills offence is simple to stop- Stop cook and you stop the bills offence. The chiefs couldn't do that for some reason, Miami did. And we see how ugly the offence looks when the run game doesn't work

I am not saying McDermott is anti passing. But the point is there was a massive foundational switch in the offence. They went from the heaviest 11 personnel team in the league with Daboll, to now being obsessed with playing 12/13 personnel and running the ball/playing clock control. It is a pretty well known fact that McDermott hated Dabolls pass aggressive approach. If you put the pieces to the puzzle, he most certainly has a big part on the overall philosophy of this offence -
Yep. Kincaid had like 23 snaps against KC and shavers had like 30. In no world should Tyrell shavers have more playing time than your best pass catcher. Not too mention Hawes and Knox out snapping him also
-
Ya I used the Diggs reference in 2023 also. He had big numbers until Joe Brady came in. The receivers aren't good to say the least, but I also question how successful a true #1 WR would be in this offence as I feel like we wouldn't even use him correctly
-
It's usually not one thing as it's definitely both. 1. The receivers cannot separate 2. Brady also does a poor job scheming guys open. Look no further than the two point conversions. 0/5 now on the season? Joe Brady really can't scheme one play to be successful for 2 yards when Josh Allen is the quarterback?

It's definitely Beane/Mcdermott for the whole roster though. The lack of talent? Sure I would say that's mostly Beane. But McDermott also has a big say on how this roster is constructed. He hated the Brian Daboll philosophy where they couldn't run the ball. So Now we over corrected on offence, and have constructed an offensive identity where we want to run/play clock control. That identify, McDermott definitely has his fingerprints on -

Yep pretty much. Theres Josh, cook, a few good players and that's about it. Once again, this team lacks elite talent outside of Josh. (And maybe cook) -

Watching the rams against SF with that receiving talent, combined with Sean Mcvay calling plays? It legit looks like a different sport. So many easy 10-20 yard throws for Stafford all game long -
This regime is bad at picking offensive coordinators
