  1. Antifa is too off the rails to even comment on , like the alt right. Just hope the law enforcement can keep these fringe groups in check.
  2. Republicans want to use a second round of tax cuts to put Democrats between a rock and a hard place Even after passing the largest federal tax code overhaul in 30 years, Republicans are making more noise about trying to pass a second tax cut in an attempt to put pressure on Democrats in an election year. Top Republicans including President Donald Trump and Rep. Kevin Brady, the author of the newly implemented tax law, recently talked up the chances of introducing a second tax bill in Congress. "We're actually going for a phase two, which will help — in addition to the middle class — will help companies," Trump said at a White House event on March 12. "It's going to be something, I think, very special. http://www.businessinsider.com/trump-second-tax-cut-bill-before-2018-midterm-elections-2018-3
  3. Though the man's identity is unknown, the photo was taken on March 23rd, 2003 outside of St. Louis, Missouri.[1] On that day, approximately 350 pro-peace activists got together with civilian weapons inspectors at the Boeing missile factory, asking to investigate the weapons of mass destruction being produced there. When they were denied access, the protestors sat in front of the main gate in protest. Approximately 75 pro-war supporters came to the factory with signs discouraging the sit-in. One of these supporters held the "Get a Brain Morans" sign. The photo was initially shared on the St. Louis Indymedia Center[2] in 2003. http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/get-a-brain-morans
  4. The nominees are no surprise , who can get confirmed is the question.
  5. My guess is that China is angry over the trade war and is undercutting the sanctions against NK. NK will do what China orders jmo.
  6. A liter of diesel will cost about $4 and a liter of regular gas will cost nearly $5 under the new prices 1 gal = 3.78 liters about $20 per gallon of gas when 80% of the people earn less then $2 a day https://www.miamiherald.com/news/business/article214465889.html No wonder they are rioting
  7. The alt-right (neo nazis) extremists are left wing Democrats ? I'm very naive to have missed this , my bad.
  8. Exactly
  9. There has never been a President like Trump before though to motivate voters from both parties.
  10. That will motivate Democrat voters to flip the Senate in Nov ., SCOTUS being one reason. This Nov election will be the most critical ever imo
  11. Those car examples are way over my pension budget . A lot of retired baby boomers are more in a Chevy Cruze like me. Cars and trucks assembled in the US will be harder hit by the tariff on aluminum and steel.
  12. plenzmd1 Fair trade agreements need to be negotiated . I do not want a trade war. How would you bring down the deficit without gutting medicare, SS , medicaid Living wage jobs with medical coverage are still a reasonable goal to me.
  13. Why Iran Is Threatening to Close the Strait of Hormuz The tough rhetoric is more than likely to be followed up by more mild retaliation attempts, such as the harassment of vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. https://worldview.stratfor.com/article/why-iran-threatening-close-strait-hormuz
  14. I would think tax revenue is increasing just not near enough to reduce deficit.
  15. The problem is outsourcing good paying jobs with benefits to low wage countries. Those good paying jobs were traded for part time min wage jobs who no longer pay income tax. The 1000s of closed factories who paid property taxes and school taxes are gone' If you are ok with a massive national debt unfair trade is the way to go. jmo
  16. Which party controls the House and Senate after Nov will determine which voters walked away or not.
  17. Divorcing Trump: Why some conservatives are now pushing Democrats (!) The conservative commentators who absolutely despise President Trump are in a box. Now, with the midterms approaching, some of those on the right are taking the step that they refused to take in 2016: They are openly rooting for the Democrats. Here's the debate: Are these onetime Republicans so blinded by what I call Trump Trauma that they're running into the arms of the opposition party? Or is this a one-off, a temporary defection to restrain a president they think is damaging the country? http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/07/06/divorcing-trump-why-some-conservatives-are-now-pushing-democrats.html
  18. DNA testing being done on separated migrant children and parents, official says By Sonia Moghe and Nicole Chavez, CNN Updated 4:27 AM ET, Thu July 5, 2018 CNN)DNA testing is being conducted as part of the process to reunite children who were separated from their parents at the border, a federal official with knowledge of the reunifications told CNN. "The safety and security is paramount and that it is not uncommon for children to be trafficked or smuggled by those claiming to be parents. To our knowledge this is a cheek swab and is being done to expedite parental verification and ensuring reunification with verified parents due to child welfare concerns," the official said. https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/05/politics/dna-testing-migrant-family-separation/index.html
  19. I'm RC , have great respect for Eastern Orthodox. Now that I have more time will look into their history.
  20. Trump could request that specific information and release it himself I would think.
  21. Sounds like Japan has an effective deterrent
  22. Eastern Orthodox Christianity predates Protestantism by about 500 years. Their core beliefs are similar to those of Catholicism. In fact, the creeds of the two denominations are nearly identical. However, there are key differences between Orthodox Christianity and other Christian denominations.
  23. I think they mean Roman Catholics and Protestant Denominations Christians.
  24. After defeat, Japan's World Cup team leaves behind a spotlessly clean locker room and a 'thank you' note (CNN)Even after they were booted out of the World Cup, the Japanese national football team gave us a lesson in grace. Following their heartbreaking loss to Belgium on Monday, the players left behind a note that said "спасибо" (Russian for "thank you") in their locker room. Oh, and they cleaned it up The good sportsmanship is another example of how Japan -- players and fans -- have earned the admiration of everyone at the games in Russia. Where fans of other teams hit the news for doing things like giving Nazi salutes, Japan's revelers made headlines in late June for sticking around after a victory to clean up the stadium. https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/03/football/japan-belgium-russia-thank-you-locker-room-trnd/index.html wow, what a great example
