  1. There is no guarantee losing today will produce any more wins tomorrow. These future draft picks sometimes take on legendary status because everyone thinks the unknown is better. You'll no doubt be here in 2019 criticizing the players we picked.
  2. You say this but they say the optimists are delusional.
  3. That is some arrogance to say we were in a rut lmao. And sometimes change is good, like getting new members, that's cool. Creating a board that lacks any organization, and has 10 different conversations about the same thing at once, cluttering the board, and pushing more important things than your opinion to the bottom? That is bad change. That said, Petermana looks good. I like the way he throws. I would like to see him against better opponents, and see what he does under real pressure, but those were NFL QB throws.
  4. 10-6 and playoffs yes. We have a 4 game head start against the Dolphins and the Jets. 6 more wins out of the remaining 12 games is very doable if injuries don't hamper us.
  5. my cousin used Rex Offenders last year
  6. Yeah, if there is no round penalty, I'd definitely keep the younger player. If everyone can keep the good RBs then he may run into some issues trying to get decent ones. He's gonna have to draft well and find the hidden gems.
  7. What are your keeper rules? You just keep a player? Or do you sacrifice a round? If the latter, then what rounds?
  8. Brady will have Cooks and Gronk back. While I certainly wouldn't take him in the first, I am definitely making him my keeper for a 4th rounder in my keeper league. If I am wrong then haha the Pats. Evans over Julio is a brave move.
  9. There are people who think we "just need a qb" and that's it, where's our super bowl ring? However, I think the more popular and credible idea is that you don't win without one. So we can build a solid team until our hearts content, but without a solid QB, we will fail far more often than not. Luck and Brees are perfect examples of an organization getting that qb but failing to build a solid team around that QB.
  10. How can you say we aren't listening to your opinions? That is the basis of all of this discussion. I have seen a number of people take in one side of the debate, and then respond in kind what they think of it and what they think would have been better. That is the basis of a forum discussing sports. Otherwise we sit here waiting to discuss events that happened and we know for sure like whether CJ Spiller was a good decision. Fun stuff. edit: Wait, is the jury still out on CJ Spiller? He is still in the league....sooo....
  11. I heard it was just maybe Boldin talking to Watkins during the game or something. Watkins may have taken exception to this new guy trying to coach him up. All theory though, no one really knows what was said.
  12. This is quite a reach. Spraining an ankle, cracking a rib, breaking a foot bone are not what they are discussing there, and are sufficiently independent of each other. Not to mention the people calling Sammy Watkins injury prone are likely not using this as their background for designating him with such a condition. It is plainly "I see injury, I expect more injury"
  13. I'll point out that Julio Jones missed 14 out of 48 which is comparable to Watkins 13 out of 48. I'll also point out that Sammy Watkins never got the 4th year with the Bills that Julio got with the Falcons. Maybe he wouldnt have had a 1600 year season, but he could've done pretty well for himself. Now we will never know.
  14. That is also a large problem with it that I see. How do you not shop Watkins around to a team he wants to go to and is willing to sign a long term contract? It makes it a little harder that he doesn't have this year under his belt to prove himself, but if you picked up the 5th year option, and let him play this year, you could shop him around to a team that is willing to deal, and he is willing to sign a contract with as a condition. Maybe it would be tough to pull off, but that is the type of move that I would like to see out of our GM. Not "No, I wasn't shopping him around at all, the Rams came to me with an offer, so I dealt". Worse case scenario, you lose out on a 2nd round pick. Best case scenario, you make a much better case for trading him, and maybe get a 1st out of it.
  15. But you are including the foot injury that history has shown is very correctable. I think it is fair to ask since it makes up the bulk of his missed time, do you think it will be a problem again? What facts/knowledge are you using to back that up? The argument I hear from people in person is "injury prone", but that sounds to me like a fan designation because they assign a number of completely independent injuries to one player and believe for some reason that qualifies as more prone to injury. It is superstitious silliness. Sammy hurt his ribs in Year 1 because a player collided with him. Not because he was more prone to hurting his ribs than other players. Same with the other injuries.
  16. Ok, but as this injury with Matthews has shown, any player at any time can get injured. You take Watkins foot out of the equation and he's missed 5 games in 3 years according to you.
  17. There is no such thing as injury prone. Players get injured. It is just a matter of whether or not they can play with said injury. Matthews "news" history is littered with injury designations and DNPs last year. At what point is he considered "injury prone" like Sammy? And if playing is what matters most well then based on Watkins history, Watkins is more likely to play 13+ than less.
  18. I don't know. Injured last year, injured in practice. Injury prone!!! /S
  19. Thanks! I sure hope so. Lmao, ok bud.
  20. Nope, it is just odd to see you ranting white American are this, and white americans are that and those dang white people and then see you call people racist at the same time.
  21. You aren't racist at all, are ya bud?
  22. Based on Watkin's history, he is more likely to play 13+ than miss 8. And why is Gaines not considered "injury prone" out by Week 4? He missed what 22 games to Sammys 13? I don't believe in "injury prone", but the people lamenting Watkins injuries, shouldn't be praising the trade. Watkins should have been shopped around if we were intent on trading him.
  23. No idea what pick I have yet. We draw random order for picking your own draft spot. So if you draw #1 you have your choice of the 12 spots. Adds a strategy element to the game. That being said, what is the consensus best spot to be picking this year? 4 and 21? Ugh that 21 seems like an eternity away. 12 and 13? That is my go to pick, but I am starting to think that is a bit too late.
  24. I agree they shouldn't have traded him. At the very least he should've shopped him around, but Beane says he didn't. So we got what the Rams were willing to pay, and not what other teams might have chimed in with. That is a mistake in my opinion. We shouldn't have traded him at all though. Once we get a legit QB, we will be looking to draft another Sammy high.
