  1. I'd say his job definitely depends on getting this right. 8-8 and 9-7 won't cut it, and I don't think we get past that consistently without an above average QB. Whatever he does, he has to get this right. Or at least have a quick plan B that gets it done.
  2. They can make fun all they want. We are enjoying meaningful draft speculation. Some of us aren't beat down so bad that we can't enjoy some speculation.
  3. Not saying the 3 way trade is happening, but the fact that his source would indicate anything about the Brown's draft strategy this close to the draft means his source probably knows nothing.
  4. I think that is a little light for the Browns. Giving up #1 and #4 for #2 and a couple 2nds? Edit: I would swap #12 to the Browns. Giants moving back to #4 isn't worth much if they aren't taking a QB. They are still getting the guy they want bc Browns, Bills, Jets take a QB and everyone knows it.
  5. Is this confirmed or was his account stolen?
  6. The guy was not silently protesting when he actively spoke out against police and saying the citizens of this country oppress black people. He openly accused police and fans of being people of a low standard and that "he cannot stand up to show pride in a flag or country" that treats people in that manner. While there may be police incidents and acts of oppression, neither are widespread enough to make such accusatory and inflammatory remarks. That is why people dislike him. He grouped the entirety of the country in with murderers and racists. Not to mention this in plain view:
  7. Is this topic really arguing that McCarron and Taylor are better QB prospects than the top QBs in the draft? Delusional people. As for giving up the "whole draft". People are saying at most 12, 22, 2nd Rd, 3rd Rd, 2019 1st to get to #2. That means we have: 2018: 1 (#2 overall) 2 3 4 5 6 2019 2 3 4 5 6 7 But yeah "whole draft"
  8. For the record, I am not for Manziel anything. Actually I'd probably be ok with there being a ban on convicted violent offenders in the NFL.
  9. wouldn't this post be implying that the Browns aren't taking a QB then?
  10. Two important points: 1) We don't have to watch him hit his girlfriend, and we are 1000% for the law taking care of that. 2) We are forced to watch him kneel during the game and the constant news coverage of it. Its not being a snowflake to vote with your dollars on the NFL changing the show it puts on. What would be a snowflake is if we demanded the government step in and shut kaepernick down because it is infringing on my right to not be offended.
  11. Again its public perception and the public likes to honor their country and its servicemen and women. Not to mention Kaepernick trashed police but everyone conveniently ignores that. Edit: That's why it is ok with the public anyway. Its ok with the teams because it is approved by ownership.
  12. Viewers don't tune in to have political beliefs dictated to them. They tune into watch football. If viewers stop watching because of this, then yes advertisers will leave because viewership is down. It's not as simple as an advertiser not agreeing with whatever political stance is being displayed. No they would not. While on company time, you are beholden to the handbook. You cannot go on political rants to clients and expect to keep your job or be protected by law when the client complains.
  13. So the next time someone is fired for being racist (edit: off the clock), they can sue then right?
  14. I wonder what would happen if someone started espousing political beliefs at the end of every work email they sent? After being fired, I wonder if the closest competitor would see that and hire that person. After not being hired by the closest competitor, I wonder if said (now former) employee attempts to consider why these companies aren't hiring him? He does a below average, maybe good enough to be a backup but not really, and will refuse to not espouse political beliefs on company time to clients.
  15. I don't believe that. If you work at a company that has locations in 20 different states, you don't get to automatically choose which location you work at because you aren't in a union. Same goes for college job fairs where they recruit college grads. They allocate their resources where they deem necessary. The NFL does the same. If you want to work for them, you have to follow their rules and fill the positions they need you to fill.
  16. So who do you guys think they will pick? Seriously though, these 2 weeks will be over soon enough and then we will have 4.5 long months to wait to watch our new QB play.
  17. Or it may be pick #22 again. We are rarely bad enough to be top 5 pick despite the negativity. (Twice in last 20 years not counting the move up for Sammy.)
  18. I think that means you are putting yourself in the position to draft the best player available.
  19. I heard on this website that a QB could hold out, and re-enter the draft next year. Is this true? If it is true, then did it change? I would have thought Kelly would have done it then?
  20. That seems silly, but what do I know. I feel like many teams would instantly trade 49 and 37 to move up to 22.
  21. If 22 is practically a 3rd rounder (exaggeration), then what is 37 and 49 that the Colts got? 4th rounders?
  22. This is the Sammy Watkins argument all over again lol. We are trading 3 first round picks to get to #2 (a first round pick). Which means the end result is losing 2 first round picks.
