Was Mario being a crybaby, you be the judge
BuffBill replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Heck yea, who wants to shoot the deer in your backyard on crutches? -
I am glad it worked out that way, but McNabb refused to come here.

Did Chan pull the plug too early On Vince Young?
BuffBill replied to PS 56's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
2 or 3 years ago wasn't "long ago." Not saying Young is or ever was the answer, but nobody would even let Thigpen on a ship to have sailed long ago, he is pathetic. And what good is understanding an offense if you can't execute it? At least Young could get a first down once in awhile with his legs. -
Equipment Manager fired after 35 years?

I have never heard that, why are more then half of the leagues jerseys one color with the collar and the jersey being the same (Cards, Bears, Giants, Steelers, Redskins, Bucs, etc.)? It could be worse just watch the Seahawks play a game in those uniforms-could hardly keep my dinner down. -

Ruvell Martin, Johnny White-in just that last week or so? I personally was a little surprised to see young released and not Pigpen. Young had one pretty good game then one pretty bad game. Pigpen has been nothing but bad. -
I know there is alot of negativity
BuffBill replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Heard on ESPN radio yesterday that something like 80 or 85% of the playoff teams each year start out the season 1-0? Hey, we could still be in that 15-20%!!! Yeah right -
Who do you think was better for his day? Jim Kelly or Kelly Holcomb?

Equipment Manager fired after 35 years?
BuffBill replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, don't hate the white jerseys with the blue collar quite as much, but those white collars-ugh! I know when Nike initially took over I read somewhere that there was limited changes they could make because the uniform change was only one year old, so I am sure Nike had to put their stamp on it somehow to make it look different from the previous jersey, if not just to sell more of them. It does look ridiculous, and not sure why they couldn't just keep the collar blue like other teams stayed one color. And what is up with the material or whatever it is, watch just about any game and the player have a symetrical square of sweat on their stomachs? -
Packers could shop Jennings before trade deadline
BuffBill replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Boy could this team use him, what sorry receiving depth we have-but, a second rounder, no way. Not for a guy who will be a free agent after this year and wants Larry Fitzgerald money (which is why they may be shopping him). Maybe if this team was one receiver away from being a playoff or super bowl contender, but we aren't that at all with the QB that we have. -

Gotta blame someone for last weekend debacle in New Jersey, because it certainly wasn't the coaches or players fault. -
Fitz INT's this Sunday. Under/over 2.5?
BuffBill replied to #34fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am gonna say under by a half a interception. I am to the point where I expect Fitz to have terrible moment, and quite a few of them, just hoping the defense can pull one out because most of the hope for Fitz is long gone, the little bit that was there anyway. -

I feel sorry for you if your memory only goes back to the Music City Ripoff, it has been all down hill from there. -
NEW CJ SPILLER NICKNAMES; I REALLY LIKE THIS GUY
BuffBill replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So we are going to start nickname threads each week when someone has a good game? Especially when we are down by 34 points and Ralph Wilson could have run for 100 yards because the defense was playing soft and preventing the deep pass. Not to take anything away from Spiller, he did look quick, but come on? -

Just turned 50 last week. Grew up a Raiders fan because Marv Hubbard their fullback was from my hometown of Salamanca. Went to my first game 16 October 1977 when the Bills beat the Falcons 3-0 and O.J. got his 10,000th yard. Went the following week when they lost and it was about 30 below zero. It didn't take long for the Bills to grow on me and by the following season, I was a Bills fan and have been a die hard every since. Had season tickets from 79-82 (Talking Proud era) until I joined the Navy in 1982. I followed the Bills for my entire 20 year career in the Navy and the 10 years since, and even though I haven't lived home since 1982, have been home just about every summer since and attended training camp. After living in Japan, Hawaii, Philadelphia and now Virginia since 1993, have never wavered from being a Bills fan, although thoroughly frustrated way too often over the past decade plus. The number of Western New Yorkers and Bills fans down here is unreal, almost every day walking around with a Bills hat and normally a shirt to go with it I get stopped by someone else who is from WNY. -
I am going to go with 6 wins and a the annual top ten draft pick again.

If they really brought both Young and Jackson in to replace Fitz, then they have less football intelligence then I thought they did. I guess they will spend $100 million on a Defensive End but only want a bargain basement, castoff for the quarterback position? I don't buy your theory, and even if you are correct, we are no better off, still in big, big, big, big trouble. I wouldn't be surprised if the team is out of here when Ralphy dies, but to say the team doesn't know how to support a winner, well it has been so long maybe they have forgotten. If this organization had put the heart, effort, percentage of their income, not to mention even the common sense of the drunkest fan in the stands, we might not have had this losing franchise for the past decade and a half, and 80% of it's existence.

Was Mario being a crybaby, you be the judge
BuffBill replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea he was being a crybaby. I am not counting out Mario, it was one game, but to run right to the media when both he and his team got their butts kicked, is for lack of other words "Whiny." Should have had the team report it to the league, not run right to the press. Besides, he makes 1.8 million a game, and playing against a guy who has had very limited success in the NFL, he knew the negative press was coming, maybe he was making excuses ahead of time. -
If you read the whole article on what Watts said, he was talking up the players on the Texans defense and not slamming Mario. He did say they will miss him in the locker room. I knew as soon as I read this article, someone would twist it to make it, like every time someone says something about the Bills or one of their players, to make it sound like "Everyone Hates Us." Dang, they didn't miss him last year, he only played in a couple games before he got hurt, they still had a top rated defense, won a playoff game with a third string QB and could have easily beaten the Ravens in the playoffs.

The only problem with your post is you make it sound like the Bills don't take any of these chances, yet they bring in Shawn Merriman, and extend him, a guy who hasn't hardly made a tackle in 5 years, been suspended for steriods, been in off the field trouble. They bring in Vince Young who the whole planet and two thirds of the rest of the universe know this guy doesn't have the necessities upstairs to be a quality starting quarterback. Half of acquisitions this FO has made is because either Nix or Gailey have a connection to them in the past (Thigpen, Merriman, Choice, etc.) and none of them has made even the slightest impact, with the majority of them being terrible-but cheap. So they wouldn't trade or Cutler because he is a whiny b**tch but they sign Young who is a mentall case? Dalton, yea the whole league passed on him in the first round, but only 1 team did in the second round ahead of the Bills and that team has a guy names Tom Brady at QB, and after one season, Dalton has more playoff appearances then the Bills do in the past 12 or 13 years, yet the Bills drafted a corner who had 4 interceptions his whole college career and none his last year at Texas, but missed games almost every year in college due to injuries.

Actually I am on your side on this argument, but when it comes to Brees you are 100% wrong. Walking around the area after the hurricane was the main reason he and his wife chose NOLA, so he could help the community. He was out in the community raising money and volunteering before he ever even put a Saints helmet on for practice. The only one of those QBs you list that is NFL quality (and most didn't think he was at the time) was Flutie, and that doesn't really fit your "in the last decade" argument, since it was 14 years ago they signed him and about 12 years since he wore a Bills uniform. You pretty much nailed in one long sentence where others are arguing for days over the same issue.

He leads the league in Garbage Time TD's and is 1-9 in his last 10 games. Go Bills! -
Marcell Dareus' brother killed in shooting
BuffBill replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just said what you and others were thinking. Athletes know one thing and that is their craft, it is how they cope with things in more cases then not. Ed Reed said the only way he could deal with the brother's death was to play. Don't be so quick to criticize others when you are clueless yourself. -
We just lost a WR, so the Bills sign a RB???

The last time the Bills made the playoffs you were....
BuffBill replied to 5 Wide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One thing I noticed reading these posts was that alot of people were 7-12 years old in 1999 when the Bills last made the playoffs. That means they weren't even old enough to remember the Super Bowl teams, no wonder they can tolerate these Bills more then alot of us older people, they don't know what they are missing. As far as myself, for one I was a heck of alot younger then. I was active duty Navy, dreaming of when I could retire and now I have been retired from the Navy for 10 years. I have a closet full of Bills jerseys from then that don't fit me anymore. Other then some of the same old Super Bowl jokes, you wore your Bills gear around proudly, now you wear it around and you get snide comments, loser jokes, feels like a bad Halloween costume (but I still wear them). I was a spry 37 or so years old, now I just turned 50 last week. I have dragged my two daughters (up until recently) from Virginia to training camp year after year, and I still think they wonder how I am so in love with a team that is so bad, year after year, but that's a good ole fashioned lesson for them-Winning isn't everything (it is, but I won't tell them). -

That sucks. Condolences to Marcel and his family. Hopefully he takes it out on the Chiefs like Ed Reed did recently.
