  1. Actually, he plays for the Raiders. He's Palmer's backup. Carry on.
  2. I don’t want this to come off as me defending MM as that is not my intent. I really haven’t thought about him in years and don’t think he was anything really special but I think that saying both Pittsburgh and Atlanta’s offenses improved “dramatically” after MM left is a bit misleading. You make it sound like they got better because he left. Pittsburgh’s offense did get a little better but mainly because they drafted Roethlisberger the next year. MM got a few pretty good seasons out of Tommy Maddox while he was there, remember the shootout in the playoffs against the Browns in I think 2002? He went 13-3 with Kordell Stewart as his QB in 2001, although I’ll give you that a lot of that was due to their defense. Also, Ken Whisenhunt kept a lot of the same system in place when he was promoted to OC after MM left to be our coach, including all those trick plays, although it was scaled back to run the ball more due to having a young QB. MM wasn’t holding that team back. Atlanta’s offense isn’t any better this year than they have been the past few years, certainly not dramatically better. Their defense certainly is. The mess in Miami is what it is. It probably had more to do with what was going on with that team (Saban quitting then Cam Cameron being a terrible head coach) than MM but all coaches do share some of the blame. No excuses but it had to be hard to game plan when you’re starting QBs were the likes of Joey Harrington & Cleo Lemon. As far as Bledsoe, say what you want but I think his failings in Buffalo had more to do with the crap offensive line we put in front of him than his overall lack of talent. Yes, he was on the down swing of his career but was still serviceable, certainly better than Holcomb or Shane Matthews. Everyone knew he was a statue but if you protect him, he could still pick you apart. Problem was we never really protected him in the last 2 ½ years he was here. Once teams realized that all you needed to do was blitz us right up the middle because our line couldn’t do anything about it and Drew wasn’t athletic enough to get out of the way, he was toast. Defenses adjusted and we never did anything about it. We needed a stud interior line so he could step up in the pocket but didn’t have it and never really tried to get it until we drafted Wood & Levitre. TD was all about drafting skill players, not the guys in the trenches. So instead of drafting solid linemen, we just draft a mobile QB and think that will fix the problem. Except that mobile QB wasn’t anywhere near ready to start and lost all confidence as he was constantly running for his life. Our crap o-line has ruined more of our potential QBs than our coaches have.
  3. Per the article posted by C.Biscuit97, he appealed and the victim did not cooperate so the charge was thrown out. This is the part that worries me. It’s got to be either his lack of work ethic or he’s just not a team player. This Bills team is made up of hard workers and overachievers so I wonder how a guy like that would fit in. Maybe Dareus or even Merriman can help him get that attitude corrected. Since our current LBs are as bad as they are, what do we have to lose by kicking the tires on him? I have read that he was a liability in pass coverage, which is part of why he lost playing time this season. Pretty amazing that both he and Curry, 2 top 8 picks from within the past few years have already been cut; Curry essentially was cut twice. Just goes to show you can take all the measurables you want before the draft but they won’t tell you jack when it comes to a player’s true work ethic and desire.
  4. Why can’t we just tarp off the upper deck like the Jags do for every home game and call it a sellout?
  5. Fitz has said he doesn’t need one, he communicates with Chan telepathically. That’s why Chan insists he can win with Fitz.
  6. Nice work jboyst62, thanks for the post. Just an FYI, Sirius is running a free preview through 11/27 so all Sirius receivers are currently getting about 60 channels whether you’re a subscriber or not. Lots of good music and other entertainment that you can’t get on regular radio.
  7. Did I hear correctly that the stadium PA played the Mario Brothers theme song after that sack? I thought I did and thought it was pretty amusing. I agree that Glenn is playing very well for a rookie. I just hope he can keep improving.
  8. Were you listening to the NFL Network guys? If so, it might have just been them being unfamiliar with what the Bills do. At one point Mayock made a comment that we moved Mario to the left side to go against the rookie instead of Long but Mario’s played the left side all season. I really didn’t notice the d line doing anything different than normal…except for actually playing well. How is the bolded any different than what we’ve done all season?? I can’t remember the last time Fitz completed a 15-20 yard intermediate route. Other than that, I agree with what you’re saying.
  9. I interpreted the quote as CJ gets too excited at times causing him to use a lot of energy. As a result, Chan has to take him out because he’s tired, not because he’s overenthusiastic.
  10. Chan knows we can’t line up in the big formation and just pound it for that yard, even with Fred. He did try a few times and we got stuffed…although one was due to a missed block by Cory Mac. On 3rd and 1 last week, we ran it out of the shotgun. He knew it last season too which is why I believe we saw a lot of Brad Smith in the wildcat…speaking of, BS was fairly good at picking up those 1st downs so why was Choice running it last night? To make it worse, on the 3rd and 1 last night Stevie was wide open but Fitz decided to go deep to Jones, who I’ve yet to see actually go up and get a ball. I’ve seen Fitz do that a few times recently. With how bad his deep ball is, he should be taking those shots on 1st down, not 3rd and short.
  11. There will be at least 1 drunk dude run on the field but I think he’ll at least be partially clothed. No one will be going out on the wire…they put a security guard on each end of both wires to prevent that from happening again. When I worked security at the stadium I pulled that duty a few times. What an easy gig. You just sit there in front of the wire to block anyone and watch the game.
  12. I agree with that 100%. I like to have some suspense on the outcome when watching a highlight. The only quality shows they have on ESPN these days are 30 for 30 and E60. Those are both typically excellent.
  13. Since you referenced The Price Is Right, shouldn't you have bid 64,537, 1 over Papazoid? Haha
  14. All I’ve seen is it was a severe ankle injury but I’d really like to know just how severe it is. I’m sick of this team putting guys that have 4-6 week injuries on IR just to open a roster spot…we’ve done that way too many times over the past few years. It would really tick me off if that is the case with this move when we’re using roster spots for a kick off specialist, 3 ½ QBs and stone hand’s Martin.
  15. I got 11 but I think question #8 is wrong or at the very least confusing so I’m giving myself 11 out of 19, not 21. Q8) The 1991 Season saw the advent of Plan B free agency. For two points name the first Bill to leave via Plan B and the first player that was signed to the squad. (Hint: Both played the same position and, in essence, the Bills “traded” the players with the same team) A8)Safety John Hagy left the Bills for the Houston Oilers. The team then signed Houston Safety Brett Tucker to replace him. (Score 2 points for both correct answers and 1 for just 1 correct.) 1991 was not the advent of Plan B. Plan B was enacted prior to the 1989 season. I don’t know if they were the 1st players to leave via Plan B and I can’t positively name any that we signed (Don Smith comes to mind) but we lost Fred Smerlas to the 49ers and John Kidd to the Chargers after the 1989 season. So if the question is who were the 1st player lost/signed in 1991 Plan B, then John Hagy & Brett Tucker may be the correct answer but I know that Hagy is not the 1st player the Bills ever lost on Plan B as the question implies.
  16. It's not his Dad. It's some rapper named Trick Daddy's Dad. I can't beleive he blew through that much in only a year and a half. Must be nice to have that much disposable income.
  17. Bills, Sabres & Mets. Eff the Spankees!!! I also follow Duke & Syracuse basketball but to a much lesser extent. I was 8 when the Mets won it in ’86 and that Championship is what started me on the road to being a Mets fan. Definitely was not a diehard at that time so I have yet to experience the elation of a Championship. While I am a really big Mets fan now, even if they win another World Series, it would not quite compare to seeing the Bills hoist the Lombardi Trophy or the Sabres hoist Lord Stanley’s cup. I chose to be a Mets fan, I was born into being a Bills and Sabres fan.
  18. Why you gotta ruin our fun with actual facts??? There is no way Bowe would only be here for 10 games. It is highly doubtful that anyone would trade for him without first having worked out that contract extension…unless it’s a team that really is a contender (Houston maybe) and think he will put them over the top.
  19. So just because we don’t have the long term solution at QB now means that we shouldn’t try to upgrade other aspects of the team until we do? To me that is silly, gotta think long term. We’ve all been saying that we need to draft a QB next year, why wouldn’t we want that rookie to have 2 excellent WRs to throw to? D. Jones is a somewhat decent receiver and all but you can’t tell me is better than D. Bowe. If we can get Bowe for a 2nd or 3rd plus a lower round pick or 2, I’d be all for it.
  20. I voted for Chan simply because I’m sick or the constant 3 year rebuilding cycles. If Chan goes after the season, that means this team sh*t the bed again and we start all over again next year. I know that’s a crappy reason for keeping Chan around, it’s just how I feel. As long as Ralph is alive, I’m not optimistic that we’ll ever get a high profile coach like many the OP listed so I’d rather keep some continuity and try to keep building on what we have. Maybe we catch lightning in a bottle by hiring an up and coming assistant coach but we’ve tried that and failed. I’d rather not get some 2nd tier guy that will cut half our team to bring in their type of guys. I really believe we’re only a few players away from being a contending team, unfortunately the QB is one of those missing players. I don’t think the defense is as bad as they appear to be in those blowouts. I’m not saying they’re great, just average, but Fitz’s mistakes have put them in some really bad situations. Hopefully Chan finally sees this and can do something about it next offseason.
  21. I’m not disagreeing with your overall point but the bolded part is not true. Losman and Fitz were not on the Bills at the same time. Losman backed up Trent in 2008 while Fitz was still in Cincy. Losman wasn’t re-signed/left in free agency prior to 2009 and Fitz was signed to replace him as Trent’s backup.
  22. I think you’re 100% correct. IMO, Jackson will not dress prior to game # 12 unless Fitz or Thigpen get injured in order to keep that pick from becoming a 6th rather than a 7th. I get the rationale for doing that but we’ve got to see what we have in him at some point this year since he will be a free agent after the season.
  23. Fine, I’ll agree with you…just stop yelling at me!!!!
