  1. We went to Ellicot Creek near Audubon. My Mom's house (house I grew up in) is in Williamsville. We still need to do our Christmas cards with photos of the kids. We have been so busy, our Christmas cards are going to be New Years cards this year. We just got back from Wegmans and my Mom and sister are preparing a lobster/seafood feast for our dinner tonight. Unfortunately, I have to fly back tomorrow and go to work on Tuesday. Happy New Year to you and your family and everyone else here on TBD. Go Bills! Go Sabres: Go Gunners! (for Gunner Bill and me) Here is the part you are leaving out, Schwartz came in after Chip Kelly. Chip Kelly's offense is run pretty much at the expense of the defense. This is another part you are leaving out: Pro Football Focus ranks the individuals on the Eagles' defense slightly above our guys. I ran those numbers the other day. If I recall correctly, the average for each Bills starting defender was 70 (approximately) and the average for each Eagles starting defender was 72 (approximately).
  2. Let's try this: Bills and Eagles Common Opponents. Ravens Bills gave up 308 yards and 4.7 yards per play Eagles gave up 340 yards and 6.0 yards per play Advantage Bills Defense Browns Bills gave up 269 yards and 5.0 yards per play Eagles gave up 288 yards and 5.8 yards per play Advantage Bills Defense Steelers Bills gave up 460 yards and 6.3 yards per play Eagles gave up 251 yards and 4.3 yards per play Advantage Eagles Defense Seahawks Bills gave up 278 yards and 6.6 yards per play Eagles gave up 439 yards and 7.0 yards per play Advantage Bills Defense Bengals Bills gave up 300 yards and 4.2 yards per play Eagles gave up 412 yards and 6.4 yards per play Advantage Bills Defense I meant to respond to these posts earlier, but this is my last full day in Buffalo before we fly back to Miami and we went for a hike and took some photographs. Go Bills.
  3. Yards given up per game between Schwartz's Philadelphia defense and the Bills defense this year through the last game. 6 yards difference per game.
  4. Why? Bart Scott knows the defense and just how simple it is. We should be concerned if we have players who think it was too complex. We may not have the same defense, but we still have this player and others who apparently are not smart enough or do not put in the work to learn a defense that Bart Scott amply demonstrated is not difficult.
  5. I read here that we have an 11-5 roster. All kidding aside, I would absolutely love for the Bills to hire Wade. I am not sure what the options are at QB or how much it would cost to get Romo, but it is likely that Romo would be the best of the available options (if he is available).
  6. I like having more good O linemen than fewer . . . I have seen what it is like not to have enough guys. I think Cujo, Groy etc. are examples (together with Incognito, Wood, Glenn, Miller etc. are examples of whey it will be important to keep Kromer.
  7. A lot of very interesting possibilities.
  8. I just read that he fell while running and playing with his son while on vacation in Miami. Tragic on so many levels. RIP to a great guy.
  9. They already have worked together. Hmmmm.
  10. After seeing the way the organization has handled things of late, I do not blame him for not wanting to deal with the questions.
  11. As an aside, we are good friends with people who lived down the street from him while he was in Buffalo. Wade loved Buffalo while he was with the Bills. He also would love the opportunity to be a head coach again. I am sure that he would love to come back to Buffalo and would not have as much hesitation about the job as others would given the situation and how (at least) some in the NFL perceive the prior coach was treated unfairly etc.
  12. There is only one way to erase the bad karma that has resulted in the past 17 years of misery. As you know, I wanted to keep the coach that had the best record for the Bills in the past 17 years. He is gone now. That leaves us one choice and one choice only: hire the guy who the Bills never should have fired and has the best record as head coach of the Buffalo Bills since 1998 and is the last head coach to take the Bills to the playoffs. Hint: He did not wear a head set and now has as Super Bowl ring. http://billswire.usatoday.com/2016/12/30/wade-phillips-buffalo-bills-coach-rex-ryan-fired/ I am probably in the minority, but I always thought Wade was a great coach, a great defensive mind, and a great guy. We should right the wrong. P.S. If we are considering Tom Coughlin, Wade is one year younger. A baby at 69.
  13. FWIW - the latest from Bills Fanatics: http://billsfanaticsbf.com/home/rex-ryan-s-reaction-bills-fanatics-insiders-get-inside-scoop
  14. I suspect that they would attempt to re-work the deal to reflect how they view him at the moment (unless they have another plan like acquiring Tony Roma etc.). Whether he agrees or not, that is another question.
  15. Thank you for your information and taking my post seriously.
  16. Gee . . . I wonder where he is getting his information. No, Doug and the front office had to fire Rex for that to happen because Rex refused to go along.
  17. The only problem with this photograph is that it should be the other way around . . . with St. Doug Whaley standing behind Rex (while stabbing him in the back). Sorry Bobby, I could not resist.
  18. To the extent that someone wanted to blame, there were two options: (1) Head Coach and coaching staff; (2) General manager and front office. It makes absolute sense to conclude that those leaking unfavorable information to the media about the HC would be someone from the front office (as opposed to Rex leaking bad stuff about himself which makes no sense). As far as being a coach killer, I agree it is self defeating. Sadly for the Bills, it is too late (in the minds of some) especially after how some interpreted Marrone's departure etc.
  19. As you know, Shady wanted Rex to continue.
  20. Thank you. I appreciate that. Happy New Year.
  21. Shula was a great coach. He went from an offense that threw the ball a relatively few number of times to one that completely changed when they drafted Dan Marino. Of course, having a guy like Dan Marino drop in your lap makes it a lot easier. P.S. I used to work with Don's daughter and we became good friends. Long story short, Don is a great and classy guy and also responsible for me and my sister having amazing seats to Super Bowl 25.
  22. I don't disagree with that.
  23. I guess BS is in the eye of the beholder. . . . and how do you dismiss Ross Tucker?
