  1. This would be an interesting drinking game. We could also add fillers like mmm or ummm etc.
  2. "We are going to evaluate TT with the next head coach and let the information make the decision."
  3. Russ would be wise NOT to raise ticket prices after the events of the past few weeks.
  4. True . . a dirty hit in a pre-season game.
  5. Thanks. You know that joke as well. I should have added the red shirt etc. Well done.
  6. My attempt at humor did not live up to your lofty level. Oh well, sorry about that. How about this, I "would not be surprised" if Doug is wearing brown pants (reference to an old joke) and makes an arse out of himself (with the help of our esteemed Buffalo media). I "would not be surprised" if this is a real cluster f*&k.
  7. Lynn could do exactly that. That is another reason why Doug will be desperate and Lynn has leverage. As I have posted before, unless a guy has few or no other options or the Pegulas overpay, I just do not see working with Doug (given his history) as desirable
  8. i think that someone said 2:00. I would not be surprised if Doug shows up at 1:00 and invokes the 15 minute rule (when a teacher is more than 15 minutes late) and leaves. "Hey guys, where were you?"
  9. Question: If Doug Whaley has a bad press conference, will he try to claim that he was not really at the press conference? Will he say that Buddy was impersonating him at the press conference? Will he say that someone else was in charge of scheduling the press conference, but the next press conference will be better because he is now in charge of scheduling them? Will he claim that he was misquoted when he said that he and Rex completed each other's sentences and that he was so against Rex being hired that he threatened to quit? If asked about whether he was the source for Jason LaCanfora, will Doug respond: Jason LaCanWho?
  10. Well done. This is completely true and he is full of BS.
  11. I think that Lynn has leverage here given how this job may be perceived. If Lynn were to reject Whaley, that would really highlight a lot of the negatives that people may perceive about this job and trying to work with Whaley.
  12. . . . or even that contract. I like TT, but that is a lot of cap space for what he has shown thus far. I think the Texans are having buyer's remorse on BO's contract.
  13. Prediction: Doug Whaley will say the following or a version of the following: "We like to say that we let the information make the decision."
  14. TT has not been an elite QB or shown that he deserves the contract option. There are some deficiencies in his game. Having said all that, he is the best thing we have got (unless and until we get someone better). We all know how that quest has gone.
  15. Interesting that this decision would be made so soon (if it has).
  16. The way it played out (Dolphins losing to Pats) illustrated why it was important for the Dolphins to win the game against us to control their own destiny. If not for all the help they got from other teams, at tie would not have gotten them in the playoffs.
  17. It is interesting that TT was willing to consider re-negotiating his contract but who knows now.
  18. Press conference (Inspired by Friends episode I saw late last week) Sully: All right, I'm going to ask you a series of questions and you answer as quickly as you can. Doug : (quickly) Yes! Sully: Good, but wait. Okay, all right, here we go. Now I want you to relax. Take a deep breath. Clear your mind. (Quickly) Which do you like better peanut butter or egg whites? Doug: Peanut butter! Sully: Which would you rather be a fireman or a swimmer? Doug: A swimmer! Sully: Did you throw Rex under the bus with ownership and the media? Doug: Yes! Original Phoebe: Oh, I know a way that you can decide! All right, I'm going to ask you a series of questions and you answer as quickly as you can. Joey: (quickly) Yes! Phoebe: Good, but wait. Okay, all right, here we go. Now I want you to relax. Take a deep breath. Clear your mind. (Quickly) Which do you like better peanut butter or egg whites? Joey: Peanut butter! Phoebe: Which would you rather be a fireman or a swimmer? Joey: A swimmer! Phoebe: Who would you rather sleep with Monica or Rachel? Joey: Monica. Oh… huh, I always thought it would be Rachel.
  19. Here is Doug before he started pushing the narrative that he was in the bathroom when Buddy misread Doug's Draft Board that had EJ as a fourth round selection:
  20. Instead, he whacked Rex even though Rex did not get much help . . . or understanding (given injuries etc.) I saw this on twitter. Doug Whaley's reaction when the Pegulas asked him who is to blame: https://twitter.com/Bu4LoSoldier20/status/814500007135113216 This also may have been the secret video of Doug blaming others in his call with Jason LaCanfora. Not sure.
  21. My head is going to explode, I actually agree with some of what Sullen has to say: "That's when it really hit me how poor a job General Manager Doug Whaley has done building an NFL roster through the draft, and how little he did to help Rex Ryan in his second and, ultimately, final season as the Bills' head coach. . . . That's a pretty miserable effort. And while things could get better down the road, it flies in the face of the notion – pushed by Whaley and team ownership – that he gave Ryan some kind of playoff roster this season. Well, Ryan is gone. The team that failed to show up against the Jets for Lynn is Whaley's baby now. It's all on him. No one else to blame for all the misguided moves and financially bloated roster that bumbled its way to a 17th straight non-playoff season. "
  22. Sounds about right . . . and add the injuries etc. to all of that. Whether it is true or not, Doug Whaley seems to have told everyone who can hear him (ownership, media) that the roster is an 11-5 roster or something like that. Accordingly, because the roster is so good, we had an elite QB, and we had so much depth to overcome all of the injuries that we have suffered etc., it must have been Rex's fault that we did not make the playoffs. Now that we have gotten rid of the only impediment to success (Rex), we should be competing for Super Bowls beginning next year and for years to come. In the words of Bart Scott (when he is not explaining how simple the defense is to Marcell): "Can't wait." https://youtu.be/tKnG06-oYcg Thanks Doug.
  23. Where did I mention the Bills offense in my post? Also, take a look at my earlier post in this thread where I detailed how the two defenses did against common opponents. It is illuminating to see how the Bills defense did against common opponents (with players ranked lower collectively than the Eagles starters). As for Bradham and Leodis, I always liked both of them. I would have kept both with the Bills if we could have afforded both. The whole point of this is not to diss Schwartz. I like Schwartz. The point is to provide some context in response to all of those claim that Schwartz and his 21st century defense are so much better than Rex and his supposed outdated defense -- a defense that some have argued is both outdated and too complicated for guys like Marcell (and others) with respect to whom Bart Scott was referring. P.S. As for wins and losses, the Bills have a better record (7-8) than the Eagles (6-9). Moreover, Rex's record as a HC (.480%) is much better than Schwartz's record (.363) and Schwartz had Stafford for a good part of the time. Happy New Year Cookie.
  24. I respect the hell out of Tyrod. He has given us all he has. I am not sure that there is going to be any QB available that is better than he is. The problem (or one problem) is his contract. Can one justify the cap hit? I think the Texans are finding out that they made a mistake.
