  1. I really hope that Fitz can turn it around, but boy did the Bills extend him at the very top of Fitz' market. If only they had waited until the end of the season to sign him. It was unlikely that he was going anywhere else. I listened to Chan this morning, and he is still convinced that Fitz is the guy (or at least that is what he is saying publicly). I hope Chan is correct. We have very little choice at this point. As others have posted, if continues the way he did yesterday and the end of last year, we certainly will be in the QB market in the offseason. As for Mario and Anderson, I will reserve judgment until they have played at least a few games with the Bills.
  2. I think I read that they cut him.
  3. Out a month apparently. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8362659/sources-buffalo-bills-fred-jackson-least-month
  4. That really sucks. He is a decent player and is a bit of a security blanket for our QB. I hope he makes a full recovery.
  5. I don't like the way Landry seemed to go after Fred's knee on the tackle.
  6. It is a good thing it is only preseason . . . Oh, wait, never mind.
  7. No you are not. I did not see it live, because I was traveling. I read about it and the "criticism" first and thought it must have been pretty bad. I then watched it on youtube. The fact of the matter is that it was both funny and brilliant. Everyone is talking about it. The critics are the ones that are unhinged. In just about 12 minutes Clint skewered the president in a way very few really could - both visually and in his speech. I loved the way he used the empty chair as a prop and used Bill Clinton's word "sterling" to describe Romney's business career. In the reviews that I have read, I have not seen that anyone picked up on the fact that "sterling" is Clinton's word (or they did not want to admit that Clint purposely used Clinton's word) . The people in the hall seemed to love the speech and the line "we gotta let him go" when someone does not do the job will resonate around the country. In the end, it is not about race, it is about performance. I think people around the country got it and will not let the media tell them what they should think about the speech. As Clint contrasted in his speech, people were crying with joy when Obama became president, and now that there are so many people out of work, people are crying for different reasons. As it turns out, notwithstanding all of the over the top coverage and euphoria about him four years ago, President Obama does not walk on water. The effect of the speech is revealed by the over the top response that the "critics" (and who they are) have hurled at Clint. Even President Obama proved that he was sensitive to the speech in tweeting his response. I have a confession to make. I have my concerns about Romney's foreign policy. I do not venture on PPP very often, but I have mentioned in the past here that I am a paleo conservative/Milton Friedman/Ronald Reagan Republican. The party seems to be dominated by others including neoconservatives. Frankly, I was not thrilled with Bush's performance as president either. He had the opportunity to be a successful president and allowed himself to get sidetracked in Iraq. That is the subject of so many other threads.
  8. I am not quite sure what Jack Kemp "thinks" currently, but I do care what he thought about economics, supply side, and empowerment etc.
  9. At this point, I hate to say it, but I am more concerned about our starting QB. I really hope we can just chalk it up to preseason, and Fitz will return to what he showed at the beginning of last season.
  10. This makes some sense given that he already is familiar with the offense and depending on the Bills' evaluation of the other receivers.
  11. He is actually pretty good. I have seen him on the NFL Network. I also think, although he is fairly young, that he was the radio guy for the Lakers and now for the Knicks.
  12. I remember listening to the draft in the car as I was heading home and screaming an expletive when SF drafted Willis.
  13. They were talking about this on NFL Sirius Radio yesterday. The Jets are in big trouble. Apparently, Ferguson also is not playing as well as he has in the past. I am anxious to see what our new defensive line can do against these guys.
  14. Very cool and very moving. It really was nice that he and his family still feel a connection with the Bills. It would be great if he came back for a game.
  15. I guess I need to follow Hungarian swimming more closely.
  16. What he said. Well done.
  17. Agreed.
  18. It really is amazing how fast time seems to go by.
  19. Shula was a great coach before Marino. Marino did not make him a great coach. Moreover, Shula changed his offense to take advantage of Marino's skills. Unlike a lot of coaches, Shula was smart enough to know that he should change his offense for Marino rather than the other way around.
  20. I just read that Mark Jackson was being blackmailed.
  21. I have to admit that I had forgotten about him until I saw the headline on PFT earlier today. There are some guys, like Joe Delaney, who turn out to be real heroes. Joe Delaney died 29 years ago
  22. Don Shula and David Woodley
  23. I am so sorry and heart broken. My thoughts and prayers go out to your daughter and your family.
  24. That is exactly my experience. It is a great fraternity.
