  1. Very true. The funny thing was that Eli used to be criticized for not showing too much emotion. Not any more.
  2. What was the coverage called on that play? I will have to check the all 22, but my dazed recollection is that they were in a zone on that play where there should have been help over the top. I could be wrong. Frankly, I have been trying to forget yesterday's game most of the day today.
  3. Sadly, he has not had the opportunity to drop many passes this year.
  4. I realize that I am probably in the minority here, but I do not think that Williams is playing as bad as many here seem to think. For example, on the big play where he got beat yesterday, he was with the receiver every step of the way. It was a beautiful back shoulder pass. These are the type of things that can be fixed, and he will be better with more experience. It is way too soon to give up on the guy. I think the the biggest things that are hurting the secondary are the surprising lack of a pass rush, the lack of experience at corner, and George Wilson being out of position at critical times. I like George and am surprised by his play so far this year. As an aside, I also think that Leodis at least deserves a chance at nickel. When and if we can straighten out our pass rush, I think that our DBs will play a lot better. Just my two cents.
  5. To add to what I said before: Marcell takes his job so seriously that he returned from Alabama to play a game in the aftermath of his brother's death when no one would have criticized him if he had taken the game off to stay with his family.
  6. When your brother was just shot and killed, it is just a game. In fact, it is just one game in 16. Give the guy a break.
  7. I agree with those who think that Buddy has done a good job. I have no problem with the job he has done as a whole. He is good at what he does. As for our QB situation, as I posted last week, I like the guys that we picked in the first round a lot more than the QBs that were still available to us when we picked that were picked later in the first. I think that the Bills had planned on taking Christian Ponder in the second or by trading back into the latter half of first round and were very surprised (as were most people) when the Vikings picked him where they did. On one hand, I am a bit surprised by how much patience they have had with Fitz (given how quickly they gave up on Edwards). Yet, on the other hand, at this point, it makes little sense to throw him under the bus. At the end of the season, I suspect that there will be a big push to upgrade the QB position unless something drastically changes. The problem is that any QBs that are available in free agency or by trade are not likely to be "franchise" QBs . Drafting a QB is always a crapshoot. The higher you pick, the less of a crapshoot is it, but it is still a crapshoot - just look at the history of QBs taken in the draft. We have had so much bad luck over the past decade plus, I can only hope that our luck will change. Just my two cents.
  8. This comment is not a reflection on either Buddy or Chan, but Ralph never should have fired either Polian or Wade.
  9. Exactly. These are the same people who would not say anything to them in person but somehow have big brass balls behind a keyboard. I thought Williams handled it well.
  10. Art Modell and his family and that is about it. Cleveland hates the Ravens ( and is not too fond of Lebron either). I am a Buffalo Bills fan with the emphasis on Buffalo. That is the whole point. What else is there to root for, the laundry? I certainly did not become a Clippers fan and definitely would not root for the LA Bills if they ever moved. There is no such thing as the Bills without the word Buffalo before Bills. That is the whole point.
  11. I would love to go cut the grass (to avoid watching a 99 yard drive), but it is raining down here in Miami. This is horrid.
  12. Out west scouting. Doing his job.
  13. Good. Well deserved.
  14. Thanks. I have been meaning to look at the coaches film as well, but have not had the chance yet.
  15. Very funny. I was about to say the same thing.
  16. I agree about Spiller. The fact that he is not at where he was health wise really hurt us. He is an explosive, game changing player when he is healthy. He showed a lot of heart playing, but certainly was not able to play up to the standard that he has set for himself before he got hurt.
  17. A week or so ago, I heard Paul Hamilton (whom I usually like) complaining that Mario has a refrigerator by his locker where he keeps bottles of water. Who cares? Why is that such a big deal. I have a small refrigerator from Costco in my office. No big deal. The bigger deal (not for me but for the media) is that he is only made available to them twice a week. As a fan, I don't care about that either. In fact, I understand why he would not want to have to do interviews every day. Yet, when I heard about this a few weeks back, I had a feeling that the media would not like it. In the end, I don't care. What I care about is his and the team's performance on the field. In the few games so far, we certainly are not getting the return on our investment that we thought we would get from him or Anderson. I really hope that they both start playing up to their contracts. That is what I care about. I am not ready to "throw dirt on him" (as Chan would say). Nevertheless, I am looking forward to the game when he and our defensive line play the way we hoped that they would.
  18. This is BS. The NFL better come down hard on Spikes.
  19. I could not stop the run or get any pressure on the QB. I also was off target on several of my passes.
  20. Byrd played with passion. Same with Chandler until he got injured with the cheap shot.
  21. I wonder if any of our players saw it while it was happening. I would hope that one of our guys would have done something if they had. I just don't know.
  22. Smart move for a lot of reasons.
