Grover Cleveland and Millard Fillmore.

Wants college football playoffs. No more stupid coach/media polls.

OH yeah that's right. Colin Powell was a great American until he endorsed the black guy.
-
What exactly IS a "Black Panther" type? A big black guy in a beret? Can't be a big black guy in a hoodie and shades because he'd be a "Gangsta" type. Is the B.P. Type guy wielding an AK-47? Sounds like your kind of guy. You really ought to get your stereotypes straight.

A typical Obama voter, like Colin Powell? Or perhaps like Warren Buffet. Or Scott McClellan. Etc.

And there were nutjob DJs who threatened the Dixie Chicks and rented heavy machinery to grind their CDs into dust. Extremists - left and right - are idiots. How's Bob Lonsberry these days?

I would say that if black people can set aside their watermelon and fried chicken and get their cornrows all braided nice for the cameras, surely they will riot. First they have to cash their welfare checks, gas up their Lincolns and all the baby mommas need to find sitters.... DUH. Are you a moron?

Obama's Grandmother passes away today
blzrul replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
If Obama had dropped everything to see he grandmother IMMEDIATELY and then had she had the AUDACITY NOT TO DIE within 24 hours you freaking wingnuts would be doggin him about grandstanding (like McCain canceling his campaign). I am sorry for him and his family but glad that she is no longer suffering. Cancer is a terrible way to die and she probably hung on as long as she could. Wingnuts console yourselves with your putrid, hateful and intolerant views no-one would ever thing twice about coming to your deathbed. -
One thing I certainly admire about the wingnuts and that is their masterful knowledge and use of language. They are SO articulate. If you remove the slang, cursing and name-calling from their posts they would read something like the following: ...

Bitter, aren't we. You sound like a Cowboy fan.

(CNN)—With just over a day before polls start to close, Vice President Dick Cheney's hometown newspaper named their presidential pick — Democratic Sen. Barack Obama. "It is a foregone conclusion that Wyoming's three electoral votes will go to Sen. John McCain. It would be easy for the Star-Tribune to simply agree with the majority of voters in this red state and endorse the Republican candidate for president," the Editorial Board of Wyoming's Casper Star-Tribune wrote Monday. "But this isn't an ordinary election, and Sen. Barack Obama has the potential to be an extraordinary leader at a time we desperately need one." The board goes on to commend Obama's judgement, criticizing McCain's conduct during his campaign and choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate. "If the John McCain of 2000 saw today's counterpart, he wouldn't recognize himself," the Board wrote. "McCain is no longer a GOP maverick, or the war hero whose principles were unwavering. He has flip-flopped on issues ranging from tax cuts to torture in an effort to win over the conservative base of his party. He has waged a dismal campaign based on fear and divisiveness." Cheney formally endorsed McCain Saturday, while at an event in Laramie, Wyoming. "This year, of course, I'm not on the ballot, so I am here … not to vote for me, but I want to join daughter Liz, who is with me today, join us in casting … our ballots for John McCain and Sarah Palin," Cheney said. Obama quickly seized the moment as another opportunity to tie McCain to the Bush presidency. "I'd like to congratulate Sen. McCain on this endorsement, because he really earned it. That endorsement didn't come easy," Obama said at the Pueblo rally. He added that Cheney "knows that with John McCain, you get a twofer: George Bush's economic policy and Dick Cheney's foreign policy. And that is a risk the American people cannot afford to take." Echoing Obama’s latest campaign ad, the Star-Tribune’s editorial board commended him for receiving endorsements from "extremely capable leaders." "It's good to know that he turns to the likes of Warren Buffett for financial matters and retired Gen. Colin Powell on military issues."

Trent hasn't been himself since he came back from the concussion. It's good to see he's still hanging in the pocket, so he's not gunshy. But I wonder if he still has some cobwebs. I'm not happy about the two losses but to keep it in perspective, yesterday was Trent's 16th start (first full year). I think even with his mistakes etc he's got the right stuff.

Woman denies Halloween candy...

This is why rational Republicans ought to get MAD and take their party back. The lunatic fringe that has hijacked them does them no favor. I can remember a time when Democrats and Republicans could disagree and still have discussions about our differences without name calling and hatred. Then along came the nutjob evangelicals ... the GOP no longer stands for fiscal responsibility or smaller government. That's their "label", but it's not true. The voters need to send the GOP a message, and the GOP needs to listen and purge those jerks. Let them take all their guns and go hole up in their megachurches so that reasonable people can work together to make America a better place. -
Here you go! A wingnut-friendly country!

And they're favorite auntie's name is "mom". -
And if it had been revealed that he used his position as US Senator to pull strings for this "aunt" (step-sister of his father) you'd all be screaming even louder. Given that she lives in Teddy Kennedy country, it would have been an easy thing for Obama to do. It bears out the fact that he didn't know she was here illegally. My brother, who makes Joe the Plumber look liberal, didn't hesitate to have HIS senator (Maria Cantwell) step in and help keep his wife in the US. It happens all the time. Obama's statement that, if she broke the law she has to be treated like everyone else, is the correct response. After all it's not like he's GWBush and his party, where we're expected to give a pass to people who molest pages, solicit gay sex in public places, and bail out huge, bumbling and dishonest corporations with our hard-earned tax dollars. The fact is to the wingnuts no matter WHAT Obama says or does it's wrong. I'm well-off, my brother lives in a double-wide. I'd help him if he asked, Lord knows he's needed it. And I've offered, and he's said no. It turns out he's taken unemployment, state-provided healthcare etc. Could I have helped him so that wasn't needed? Sure, if he'd let me. If THIS was the GOP's "October surprise" it was pretty damned pathetic. This board and of course FauxNews is the only place it still seems to be an issue.

If Obama wins the election and you wingnuts want to go somewhere where everything thinks like you (which is not much), think about Australia. See how fiercely they protect their taxpayers' money! That's what all y'all want after all.

Joe the Plumber leaves John flushed

McCain and his menagerie: Joe the Plumber, Tino the Builder and Caribou Barbie. An interesting menage a trois. There, that ought to get you frustrated wingnuts going.... -
Not if you're Exxon Mobil. Life is good.

And yours were...? There are plenty of "charities" that are not deductible for tax purposes, so you don't see those. Two years ago a "adopted" a family for Christmas and spent around $3,000 on them. The agency that brokered the match was not a qualified charity, so no deduction. Not everyone donates only because they want a break on their taxes. You have no way of knowing what anyone's true contributions are.

It's Time To Go After Wendy Buttons!

Louise Slaughter told me once that "you need a very thick skin to be in politics". Probably an understatement. Being a communications or marketing professional, you have to have a certain about of chutzpah but politics can really, reallyl test you. I can understand why this woman may have been fed up with everything. I would expect that had she worked for the McCain campaign her feelings wouldn't have been much different. It's politics.
