  1. And to think I considered her a better GOP VP choice than Palin.
  2. So here's the deal people: how many folks do YOU know who would honestly say "oh yea, I am just like Joe the Plumber"? Not many. McCain's elevating Joe the Plumber to his campaign mascot doesn't validate his message. It just makes Joe look like a trained money rattling his tin cup. Yawn.
  3. So when Ted Stevens steps down and the governor appoints a replacement, anyone want to place bets on its being Caribou Barbie (assuming she's not out shopping for a new Vice Presidential wardrobe)? Wouldn't that be a hoot? AD is hiding, and I don't blame him. Not that I missed him, he's on my blocked list anyway. I sure hope I'm on his.
  4. So I guess that Joe the Plumber no longer has a problem with Obama's economic policies since the endorsement is on the basis of Israel? Or could it be that McCain's trying to scare all those old Jewish retirees in Florida perhaps? You know the ones who voted for Buchanan in 2000? Or is it because Obama is a molotov-cocktail wielding, turban-wearing Muslim? Joe? Do tell, you oracle you.
  5. I actually saw a report stating that 40%+ of the "rich" under-report their income for income tax purposes (in other words, they cheat). This is higher than for the middle class. I can't remember where, but I'll post the link if I can find it. The rich have more places to hide it, and better lawyers.
  6. Oh gee, a rich guy might suffer a little. Boo hoo. People are losing their homes, their jobs and their life's savings and the rich owner of a mediocre football team is whining about capital gains tax. Well, he's had a bunch of FAT years under the GOP, why didn't he save for a rainy day like the rest of us. We pay through the nose. Why shouldn't he?
  7. Ha! I caught my husband posting in the sports forum last night as said OH@ You're posting on TBD?!... His response: yeah, only the football boards though. I read those PPP threads, they have two posts and then 14 pages of name-calling and meaningless bull sh--.
  8. Show me where is says below that Obama believes that there SHOULD be "redistribution of wealth". Or for that matter go read the entire article and show me. The focal point of the discussion was not redistributing wealth. The guy used to teach Constitutional law. Pretend he's a white Republican and this would read as a discussion of the law, not an evaluation or recommendation of Robin Hood activities. In fact, if you read it closely you might realize that he's calling it a tragedy that civil rights issues are "court focused" in terms of effecting change. You wingnuts love to scream about that. Looks like he agrees with you, or at least did 7 years ago. "...In the interview, Obama said the civil rights movement was victorious in some regards, but failed to create a "redistributive change" in its appeals to the Supreme Court, led at the time by Chief Justice Earl Warren. He suggested that such change should occur at the state legislature level, since the courts did not interpret the U.S. Constitution to permit such change. "The Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth and sort of basic issues of political and economic justice in this society, and to that extent as radical as people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn't that radical," Obama said in the interview, a recording of which surfaced on the Internet over the weekend. "It didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as it has been interpreted. "And the Warren court interpreted it generally in the same way -- that the Constitution is a document of negative liberties, says what the states can't do to you, says what the federal government can't do to you, but it doesn't say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf, and that hasn't shifted. "And I think one of the tragedies of the civil rights movement was that the civil rights movement became so court-focused, I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and organizing activities on the ground that are able to bring about the coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change, and in some ways we still suffer from that," Obama said. Entire Article
  9. I agree. I love to tell them that Jesus probably looked more like Osama bin Laden than Michael Bolton...it just makes their heads EXPLODE. And my second-favorite thing is my "Jesus was a Liberal" bumper sticker.
  10. This is probably the only PPP thread I've ever read completely that hasn't pissed me off. Since you're all feeling creative, I need a band name for a drum & bugle corps. Something related to the Seattle/Puget Sound area ("Sounders" is out). Hemp, Hippies and derogatory names are out. This is serious, you could actually name a band! No prize but bragging rights and maybe recognition from a real celebrity. I'll check in with all ya'll later.
  11. Oh look she CONFESSEDthat the attack was a HOAX. College Station, TX. An Aggie on the loose! Lookout!
  12. They're on the rack next to the "Obama is a Terrorist" shirts right?
  13. I could care less about her not aborting a Downs baby. I don't think it's noble, and if she had chosen to abort I would not have condemned her (although we probably wouldn't have known). That's not relevant. And remember, if you want to tout her "values" then the preggo teen and son-shipped-off-to-the-military-to-avoid-jailtime are then fair game... I think she's an overhyped empty suit who is in FAR over her head. And while I don't think she is particularly intelligent, she is cunning...and I think that she understands the predicament she is in and just might be regretting it. And that has nothing to do with her baby. In fact she uses him as a prop very effectively. And if she really understood what she was about she wouldn't call him "disabled". We parents of children with challenges do not appreciate that term and would NEVER use it.
  14. If we stay in Iraq, the terrorists win. OBL's stated goal is to wipe us out, not by terror attacks, but financially. Our brave soldiers believe in what they do, based on what they're told. They're not hearing the truth.
  15. By the way, doofus, Communism and Socialism are different. No-one is accusing Obama of being a "commie". They're screaming about socialism, right after they just nationalized most of the banking system in America.
  16. I don't like them either, having taken them. Apparently though she changed her statement a number of times and the police wondered by the B was backwards...it would have been sorta hard for a person facing her to do that, and surely he didn't do it from behind...then they figured out if you stood in front of a mirror and were a moron, you'd end up with a backwards B. I ask myself, is that the typical McCain/Palin voter? How I answer myself, is my business.
  17. You moron, you think he decided to rob a woman at an ATM becuase she had a McCain sticker on her car? What a doofus.
  18. I'm on top of a hill. You're older than me. ha ha
  19. Don't forget the husband who belongs to the secessionist party - you know, the party that HATES America and her laws and would like to break away (hint: she spoke at their convention in 2006).
  20. I live in the Pacific Northwest. Pinecones, like slugs, are just a way of life out here.
  21. Oh for crying out loud I somehow doubt that this was anything more than a spur of the moment thing done by a freaking jerk who probably has no clue about the election and probably doesn't vote anyway. The person who did this is a SICKO. Why does it all have to be politicized? It's one thing to complain that a McCain supporter steals signs, or an Obama supporter calls people rednecks. THIS is nowhere NEAR that.
  22. Like a guy could know what it's like to have a baby. On the other hand, if an amnio would show the fetus was a Krauthammer...well there's a reason to keep abortion legal right there.
  23. Let's make sure we all chip in and send Wacky, Boner and all the rest to a NICE coastal resort to celebrate New Year 2050.
  24. Gee you think?! We hadn't noticed. Don't forget also: Ignorant Ill-informed Intolerant and all the "cons" too, that go with conservative like Constipated Convoluted Coniferous and whatever else there is. And you can't type for sh--.
