Bill Maher has, for the past several weeks, been profiling various places outside the US where people can go to live if McCain wins. I would imagine they'd be just as satisfactory if Obama wins. Perhaps you ought to check them out.

And now, McCainiac is yelling to the McCainanites in the audience that Obama's "smearing" Joe. No-one ever HEARD of Joe before McCainiac brought him into this mess...held him up as a shining example... Those people who think it's "terrible" that poor old Joe I mean Sam is getting all this scrutiny...are the same people who B word that Americans believe everything politicians say. There's just no reasoning with some people.

I have yet to see any of the "Democratic leaders" say Bush blew up the WTC or wear such shirts. Please share with me who these people are.

Turns my stomach. I read this and I thought "dammit, these hedonistic freaks have nothing better to do with their time and money? And they think they are ENTITLED to it as America's annointed?" Many of them (eg Skakel) inherited or married their money. This isn't political, it's "class" or the lack thereof. These !@#$s SHOULD pay more taxes just because they are !@#$s. I think to date politicians have been reluctant to tax !@#$s although, unlike jobs or income it's something everyone's got but...they should definitely double the tax on these particular !@#$s.

No, I'm not. I'd never wish that hell on anyone, even Wacka or Eryn or AD or VAB...to name a few of my favorite wingnuts. Maybe, just maybe if they weren't Bills fans, it would be different. But I don't think so.

Well then he is REALLY a dumbass for making Joe (or Samuel, actually) the centerpoint of his debate.
-
Well do you think that the GOP lawsuit forcing the elections board to verify registrations should ONLY apply to Democrats? duh

It wasn't Freudian and I hope it doesn't happen. It was just a mistake is all. And it's NICE to have a good lifestyle. I have one too. But interestingly what we've learned is how much fun it is to do nice things for others. We started at the YMCA "Angel Tree". I'd pick my kids up from after-school care and see the tree with all the wishes hanging there...week after week. We felt bad for kids who were asking for basics, like shoes and stuff. So we gathered up those wish tags and hit the store. We had a BLAST shopping for those kids. From there we expanded to other charities. I think we got far more than we gave. On Christmas morning we'd do our thing but the kids would be more excited thinking about those other kids. And, we didn't really miss the money. Later when we hit hard times, financially and otherwise, people came out of the woodwork to love and help us. I guess that's what is meant by paying it forward. You worked for your money and it's yours to do with what you will. But it's small-minded and petty of you to criticize others who don't mind sharing their good fortune. If you ever do need help you'd best pray that you're not surrounded by people who think like you. "Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses"?

Why do you insist on sarcastic attacks against people in this particular vein? Do you worship money that much? Hint: wake up one morning and find a loved one dead in bed. I hope it never happens but when it does you may realize just what's important in life and consider that some people really DO have bad things happen to them in spite of their best efforts, and those who care and want to help them are a blessing. If it has happened to you, I'm very sorry for you and it's obviously soured and embittered you.

Obama to declare carbon dioxide a dangerous pollutant
blzrul replied to Wacka's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Ten points for you on that one. Wackaa would argue against ricin's being declared a danger, if Obama said it. On the other hand if a wingnut stated that puppies cause erectile dysfunction, he'd start a movement to round 'em up and gas 'em. -
So you represent black America and speak for them? Wow.

yah well so many of these threads digress and go to 5+ pages, who's gonna follow all those links?! :-)

Could someobody answer me this question
blzrul replied to John from Riverside's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The national arena, yes. He graduated from Harvard Law School and was a college professor then served in the Illinois legislature. He ran for Congress and lost and then ran for the Senate. His opponent was outed by his soon-to-be-ex wife as a sexual deviant of sorts, and the best the GOP could come up with was Alan Keyes. So Obama won his first term in the US Senate. The "rap" against him by the GOP is that Senatorial and state government experience doesn't count. So you that means essentially if you believe that, that John McCain isn't quailfied either. -
We've posted plenty on other threads which overlap. And if you're talking about a WSJ OP ED, forget it. Opinions aren't the same as facts. To illustrate, I have a certain opinion of you. Hopefully, my opinion is not reality - for your sake at least.

So you returned that $3k to Caribou Barbie, right? Or donated? Because I am sure you wouldn't want to be taking gov't handouts.
-
Try this. You just point, and click. Make sure your sound is on.
-
Or in the case of Bush and McCain, they inherited or married it.

Joe the Plumber's Taxes "Less than 2% would pay more under Obama's plan".
-
I don't see anything wrong with the comment. Spreading the wealth around is the way this country runs. The federal government collects taxes...shares it with states...which shares it with local govt/municipalities...is there a problem with that? I live in the Seattle area. My tax dollars here go to build roads and schools for the more sparsely-populated east side of the state. The money is here, but it gets shared over there. I don't have a problem with that. Unfortunately Joe will be pilloried because he was held up by McCain as an example of a poor struggling victim who would be further victimized by Big Bad Barack. This is called "back-firing" and seems to be a hallmark of the McCainiac campaign.
-
Dude - McCain is the one that's making hay over him, which naturally now has the media investigating him. To say that now he's going to be embarrassed because he "crossed" Obama is not true. I think we're actually sort of agreeing. I don't think the "Joe the Plumber" incident is hurting Obama. It's just another one of those red herrings.

Why hasn't this Dem Congress, that loves to get
blzrul replied to stuckincincy's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Sounds like a guy I used to work with whose nickname was "State the Obvious". -
You forget, I voted for Bush once. I voted for Alfonse D'Amato more than once. Just to name a few Republicans I've voted for. So I guess in the former case you are right, I voted for the prince of #@#$@#$@#in darkness. Big mistake.

He didn't cross Obama. He got used by McCain.
