Richard Nixon really liked plumbers. It must be a Republican thing. Come to think of it they are awful fixated on plumbing.

I don't recall the markets dropping this far, this fast, the last time. And that mess was exascerbated by 9/11. Just imagine how bad it would be if, God forbid, another terror attack were to happen. -
Joe The Plummer Is Mad As Hell!
blzrul replied to molson_golden2002's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Joe the Plumber is just an average guy. Since he clearly didn't understand that a BUSINESS grossing 250k annually isn't the same as a SALARY of $250k, he probably shouldn't consider buying it anyway. It just boils down to "are you better off now than eight years ago". Some people are, many are not. The scales will tip depending on just how many are not and who they perceive can make things right. -
Absolutely. As always your contribution is appreciated.

This probably won't help McCain Either

Had JFK not been assassinated perhaps his health would have become an issue. Either way we'd have ended up with the Texas Prairie Chicken. -
And it's a good bet that for the past 200+ years 100% of white guys have voted for a white guy. If you have a point to make, make it.

"Quite rapid"? I guess in the grand scheme of the universe "years" is rapid but when you're out of a job, without healthcare and afraid of losing your home, a couple of years is NOT rapid. -

Not unless you want Caribou Barbie running the show. Health of the President is indeed of interest to the public. People still B word that JFK hid his health problems and they were right to do so. -

If Biden's getting Botox he ought to get his money back. But for McCain it's far too late for Botox and Botox doesn't treat cancer which McCain has already had. Since you obviously assume McCain appears hale and hearty might I suggest a trip to your opthamolologist ASAP. -
If the only reason people refuse to vote for Obama is because he's black then we will continue to get the "leadership" we deserve. That said I don't disagree that there are a lot of petty idiots out there who will not vote for him because of race. Ironically those people are typically in the economic bracket that gets hurt the most by the policies of bad leaders. So in that respect they bring it on themselves and therefore have only themselves to blame.

Not only is he going to take away all our money, but he will also force us to convert to Islam. He will build minarets on the White House grounds and force all white people to the deep South where they will pick cotton and sling burgers at McDonald for $.45 and hour, and live in shpping containers. If they complain he'll waterboard them (proving that he is willing to use the best ideas from across the aisle). Be afraid. Be very afraid. -

It's not contagious but it will probably cause a number of people to consider that these things CAN happen. And for all Cheney's a sick old bastard, McCain LOOKS a lot more like a cadaver. -

God don't even say that. By the time January rolled around we could have already started 2-3 new wars. -
It seems that Cheney is experiencing some heart irregularities ... of course I wish the Cheney family well, but I think that given that people are already nervous about McCain's health, particularly with the spectre of Caribou Barbie waiting in the wings, the timing is terrible. Poor Cheney isn't to blame of course, but I suspect that seeing this situation is just not going to help people feel good about McCain.

Many of the voters in Ohio were actually registered for the primaries (hint: not the GOP primaries) so the GOP has every reason to want to purge these people from the rolls. It's what they do. -

It's perfectly legal to register voters and, if you're working on behalf of a campaign, to ask them to vote for your candidate. I've been registering voters since age 14. So what? It doesn't mean you can MAKE them vote that way. And if I get paid for my trouble - so what? The crime would be if I knowingly falsified and submitted registrations for people who couldn't qualify or didn't exist. In that case I'd be defrauding the people who paid me. I could be prosecuted. Obama is not a stupid man. If you think for one minute that he or his campaign advocated hiring ACORN to falsely register voters, you must be on drugs. Even the Republicans can steal their elections for free, and Obama's a lot smarter than your average Republican. -
We need to start deporting these Canadians who are taking advantage of American taxpayers. Let's build a wall between Canada and the US (ALL the way around). You can put Steve Christie on that.

Here we go. I love the comment that Palin's considered "good" because of her predecessor, and that all politicians in Alaska are slimebags, she's just not as slimy and she gives people money so she's got a high approval rating. Funny.

Plus a whole generation now know the name "Phyllis Schlafly" ... as in "Caribou Barbie is the reincarnation of Phyllis Schlafly". Or if you prefer, George Bush in a dress. Actually I think she might be worse.
