I'm surprised no-one's posted this yet - some poor store clerk got trampled to death by stupid greedy people trying to charge into a Wal-Mart. This is outside of enough. I am sick of the !@#$ed-up priorities these days. I told my husband and daughter yesterday that I am spending no more than $200 on them for Christmas, and everything else is going to charity.

Yeah it did suck didn't it. Let's just get these raffle tickets sold. If I win (after I pay all the taxes) I have big plans for that property ... big plans.

I seem to remember the Bills lost to the Lions on Thanksgiving not all that long ago. Sad.

And I thought Sarah Palin was the only moron in Alaska.
-
Hmm. I hear SILENCE from the right. In any event this wasn't a political thread. It was a thread of outrage and has more to do with accountability and responsibility and making things right for our soldiers.

I found this site not long after Marty started it and helped review some of the content for him. It's come a long long way. I bought a couple of tickets - I think it's do-able in terms of selling sufficient tickets. I posted this on my facebook profile etc. Little stuff like that goes a long way. Be careful about saying you don't like me. For all you know, we've met and you DID like me. Ya gotta stop taking this web forum stuff so seriously.

I thought maybe this site was pinned, but I don't see it. Anyway, there's a lot of chest-thumping and yammering on this site about supporting our troops. Put your money, and effort, where your mouth is. Go to AnySoldier and see what you can do to help. Marty and his son have really grown AnySoldier to something very special - thinking back to where he started, it's really great. Notice that they have extended the raffle for the house. I guess they didn't sell enough tickets. They've asked me to help promote the raffle, so I am promoting it. It's an awesome house. I don't know what I'll do if I win it, but it's nice to dream.

Maybe Obama should ditch the sign on the podium and instead put up a big "Mission Accomplished" banner behind him.

I really care as much about Bush and his pardons as I do about Sarah Palin and what she's up to.

I don't require anyone to agree with me. As a child my first experience in the South was a billboard in North Carolina featuring a Klansman on a white horse, with a burning cross, welcoming me to Klan country. Twenty-five years later I didn't think the South was any different from the rest of the country (in other worlds, if I thought of it at all it would be that it had changed for the better) with the obvious exception of the geography. My first day at work I followed a guy with a "I'd rather be shooting Yankees" bumper sticker. And it went downhill from there. I did meet some fine people there. I wish there were more of them. But if you look at the statistics for the deep south (Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Florida) you'd be hard-pressed to argue that they could qualify as third-world countries. I do not consider the Carolinas, Virginia, WVA, Georgia, TN, KY etc in this same class. Yeah there are lots of rednecks and stuff, but those are everywhere. And yeah, I don't agree with ignorant, narrow-minded bigots. Shame on me.

Libby will be pardoned with 1 minute left in Bush's term.

Anything Obama is "doing" now (meeting with Joint Chiefs, discussing his policy etc) is being done with Bush's explicit permission. Bush can't wait to get as far away from the mess he's leaving as possible, and get back to cuttin brush which, it seems, is the one thing the poor man is good at. If you want to have a heart attack, I read an op-ed today calling for Bush and Cheney to resign now, putting Pelosi in charge until Obama is sworn it. So maybe you ought to count your blessings.

Wingnuts like to politicize everything. They have their own laws of association. You have to break it down: Wingnuts' boy Bush started the war. Bushboy's boss, uncle Dick, used to run Halliburton. KBR is a "subsidry" of Halliburton. Hence holding KBR responsible for unconscionable, intentional greed-driven acts that kill our soldiers, is anti-Bush and anyone who says anything bad about KBR will be called unpatriotic and for good measure they'll throw a "Bush Bad" at you. Got it? Good. Now explain that to the families of the dead soldiers.
-
I would like to see the CEO and BOD brought up on some sort of charges...and KBR removed from the GSA list for ...as many years as possible.
-
KBR Ineptitude Kills Soldier(s). There's no excuse for this. And will anyone be surprised to learn that a government contractor, seeking to rape the taxpayers for every last penny, cut corners and placed our soldiers at risk, needlessly. No excuses.

no-where did I say they were stupid. Evil would be more apt, except i don't think they are willfully evil. they are simply ignorant and don't give a rat's ass about anything outside their own teeny-tiny little world. which, by the way, they can have. typically they lead the country in high school pregnancy, dropouts, family poverty and more. they are the first to scream for help when it's THEM and the first to scream AGAINST help for anyone else. seriously i just had to yuck it up a bit over hurricane ike. the people in houston were simply VILE over the katrina refugees. so was it just not divine intervention that houston got clobbered? maybe they'll be a little more understanding if it ever happens again. nah.

Since the economy has dumped even more

Coward. -
Because they contribute nothing to our society except a healthy dose of narrow-minded hatred. I never thought so....but then I lived there for a number of years and learned to my horror just how wrong I was. I found pockets of decent people here and there, but in the minority. I found the people around me to be overwhelmingly ignorant (and proud of it), shallow, and very parochial. I guess you find those folks all over, but there sure seem to be a lot of them concentrated in the deep south. And, perhaps, in Alaska. I cannot say for sure, but judging by their elected officials one might just wonder.

OH GAWD that would be hilarious! Carville is downright nasty - sometimes he's funny, but mostly I don't like to watch him because he is SO mean. I'd like to see him and that (*^*&%^$^#O'Reilly go a few rounds.

Barack Obama Quickly Moving To The Center

They raise money on behalf of candidates - not corporations. And not even "special interests" unless you consider ending a war to be a special interest. -

My MOTHER is 75 and belongs to Moveon.org. She hasn't lobbed a molotov cocktail in her life. She voted for Barry Goldwater for Chrissakes. "Moveon" for those who don't know it, was founded not to be leftist but to try to get our stupid government to, literally, MOVE ON and do it's damned job. Like, not spending bazillions of dollars of taxpayers' dollars on lobbyists, special interests, politically-motivated investigations and other bull sh-- that is not in the interests of the American people. If you a sheep that needs label to tell you what to think, that's your prerogative. But if you looked at Obama's record and read his proposals, he's only "far left" if you consider it "far left" to speak out against an ill-advised war and try to forward an agenda that benefits families over corporations. -
My husband told me there was a thread here doggin his man Leodus. How stupid is that.

Why are labels so important? What's important are peace and prosperity. restoration to our standing in the world and a government which we don't have to be ashamed of. For starters. It's pretty clear that the GOP, which sheathed itself in the "family values" label, was anything BUT a government for the bulk of the American people. Rich, corporations - yeah, their yours. Rest of us, forget it. Anyone who ever thought Obama was a screaming leftie is a Fox-watching moron. Call him what you will. It's the results that people care about. -
I don't think I had any doubts about you. If it's possible to LOSE 1.2+ million jobs in less than a year, it's possible to stop the loss and add new jobs to the total of 2.5min two years. I am a little skeptical but the alternative is unthinkable. It will be interesting to see the forms these jobs will take. I expect a healthy number will be govt-sponsored work programs a la TVA.

Attorney General collapses while giving speech

Maybe, but I can promise I won't be at yours.
