What the Browns deal might mean for the Bills
Mr Info replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Outf#!kingstanding! My wife works on some business deals with Jimmy (and that is all I can say). Now we should be able to score some tix for the game there. -
Thanks a bunch, Mark. I always look forward to these posts. I am interested in Premium Rush. I like JGL but the staging of the bike filming, at least in the trailer, appears exhilarating to watch. I hope the story line/screenplay is just as good. After reading the strong dissents on the TBD bicycle discussion I can envision two TBD bleachers at this movie: one cheering when the bike rider cleverly avoids the situation and the other when the rider gets whacked. Though, in fairness, it is the wild west for NYC bike deliverers as they do what they please.

I periodically worked in the SE part of PR but I would stay in Ponce (south center) part of the island rather than San Juan. I always enjoyed the laid-back, non-tourist feel of Ponce. If you are nearby and can stop, check out Plaza Las Delicias which is the center square of Ponce. Some nearby great beaches, too.

Moving to DC. Need some housing advice
Mr Info replied to stevestojan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Durant was there the week before but not the night we were there. G'towns Chris Wright and Antonio Hyman played. Some other dude was the MVP of some Euro league. I did not spot any MD players but I had a hard time catching all the names from the announcer. These guys all had game. The warm-ups were as entertaining as the games and it was like the slam-dunk competition. But once the games started, these guys became serious as chit about their ball. Great bball court in the middle of the projects. Nike spent >$150k to upgrade it about a year ago. -

I just stubhubbed 4 in 337 so I will be next to 336. Two Jets fans will be joining us so they can watch the demolition live. -
Moving to DC. Need some housing advice

A couple of weeks ago, I took my son to watch the Goodman League in the Berry Farms Dwellings in SE DC (a few blocks from the Anacostia stop): Goodman League Great basketball and you never know who (NBA, ex-NBA, College, etc.) might appear. We were the only caucasians at the game & due to that were welcomed by Miles Rawls (commissioner & announcer) over the mike. The games ended about 10:00 and we had no issues going/coming or at the games. We had a great time and saw some amazing ball. -
Jets-Bills opener - need tix?

I was looking on the NYCBB Backers site for 4 tix together and they are sold out...well, they may have a couple of singles left. I hope they can score more tix from the Jets. It looks like they could sell more if they do. -

Coming to Buffalo to see my first NFL game
Mr Info replied to Rob's House's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I live just North of Richmond and have a cycle and that would be a long ride. I would do it if I had a few days but not Sunday night after a football game...but that's me. I do not drive that route very much anymore. Another option - catch a Sat morning flight on Southwest out of BWI to BUF and return Sunday on the 7 pm flight. Right now $193 RT. No traffic Sat morning to BWI or returning on Sun night (everybody is going in the opposite direction). Listen to the Sunday night game on the way back and Bills highlights. I do this for about 3 games a year but plan ahead to get inexpensive flights. You can also fly from RIC to BUF that weekend for ~$290 RT. Depart BUF Sunday night around 7 pm. Departure time may seem tight on Sunday evening but I have never missed that flight. Leave stadium 5:30-5:45 and get to BUF before 6:30. -
Pink Floyd blues Classic blues...great guitar and piano work by Gilmour and Wright. No video but let it play in the background.

I'm thinking they showcase Smith and Young @ QB in the pre-season. Smith makes a good showing in pre-season and sometime early next season some team needs a QB due to injury, etc. The Bills have three of 'em and can broker a good trade with Smith. Not saying Smith can't help the Bills somehow but having your 3rd string QB look good in pre-season might help us differently.

Waters on 60 minutes tonight (20 May)

Check out another Favreau movie: "The Big Empty". An odd little movie but I enjoyed the weirdness of it. Somewhat based on a Twilight Zone episode but with some interesting characters and dialogue. Also in the movie: Bud Cort, Darryl Hannah, Kelsey Grammar, Sean Bean.

Roger Waters was on Jim Ladd's show for 4 hours on Deep Tracks tonight and he announced that the Pink Floyd channel would start on Memorial Day weekend on the Deep Tracks channel and move to another station in June. I know there are some other Floyd/Waters fans around so I thought they may be interested. Still no word about this on XM/Sirius so I guess Roger released the news a little early. As always, a Waters interview is interesting and he is friends with Ladd so that made it even more insightful. It appears there will be some more Immersion releases (Animals? Meddle?) forthcoming. I will make an offer to the Floyd fanatics. I contribute some stuff to the Yeeshkul Floyd site. PM me and I will tell you about some rare quality Floyd material I will share if you are interested.

I am looking to pick up a 2007 Silverado 2500HD 4x4 diesel to be towing a 6-7k load. I selected that year because of the tranny upgrade in 2006 and the interior upgrade over the 2006 model. The Duramax/Cummins combo is solid. Has anyone put a chip in it to increase mpg? I will pre-emptively talk about the F-250 before the Ford aficionados jump on this. I might have selected the 02-03 model when their diesels were reliable but the 6.0s after this were junky. However, the single front axle was the difference breaker when compared to the Silverado. My wife will be driving this and wanted more comfort. I know Ford started making their own diesel in '11 but I don't want to spend that much for a late model. Thanks ahead for any feedback.

7 1/2 Annual "Dinner's On Me, Smartass" Competition
Mr Info replied to IDBillzFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brilliant - you did not place an asterisk by the Pats* games and 29 (so far) copied and pasted your text without the required asterisk . -
I am ok with Floyd, especially if we hang "Pink" for his nickname.

Thanks. I was not aware and had recently spoke with some friends about going up to catch a Midnight Ramble in Woodstock. The best to him and his family as he finishes up.

Here's one example: my wife has a business and is not tech savvy. She has a Droid but will be changing to the iPhone after purchasing an iPad for her business. Her POS system is Square. She wants the same interface on whichever device she is using. After a year, she still has issues locating stuff on her Android phone. The simplicity of the UI on the iPhone is easier for her. Did I mention that she is not tech savvy?

I live just north of Richmond and have had season tix for quite a while. I drive up to BWI on Sat or Sun morning and fly Southwest direct to BUF for the game and fly back Sun night. I make it for 3-4 games a year and sell, give away, or donate the others. I plan ahead which games to attend and that helps with lower prices on Southwest. My sister lives two blocks from the Ralph so that helps a bunch as well. Flying certainly is more expensive than driving but when you consider the rising cost of fuel and driving time, I can justify it. Another plus, Southwest is usually on schedule. Just another option to consider.

Pretty Lights was the headline at All Good last year. Amazing light show and sampled Pink Floyd for a bit. Not trying to hijack thread but All Good is moving to Legend Valley (near Columbus) next year.

State income tax: income > $17,000, tax is $720+5.75% of the amount over $17,000 VA Tax & Cost of Living calculator Sales tax is 4.5% but some localities (cities/counties) can add to this for meals, etc. Property taxes in Central VA (per $100 of assessed value) City of Richmond: $1.20 Chesterfield County: .95 Henrico County: .87 Hanover County: .81 (where I live; example for a 400,000 home is 3,240 in property taxes - compare to "$228,000 & I pay $6,800 in taxes") I like certain areas in the City of Richmond (the Fan) but I probably would not live there while raising a family unless I sent them to private school. Chesterfield is a booming area but as I mentioned earlier, I picked Ashland in Hanover County because I wanted us to be able to walk to places (Town hall, restaurants, train station, parks, stores, library, etc). I did not want to get into a car to go everywhere. That may not be important to many people so it would open up more of Central VA. Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions. Someone mentioned Charlottesville & Roanoke. Both good recommendations but C'ville can get pricy. -
