  1. From an aptly-named user ID.
  2. Most states are employment-at-will states which means the employer may terminate any employee at any time, for any reason, or for no reason. As a general rule, therefore, the employee has no right to challenge the termination. There are a few very limited exceptions. Also, federal law protects employees from discrimination because of age, race, sex, religion, national origin or handicap. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/At-will_employment
  3. I was at the game & Nelson was open on that out in the end zone in the 4th but Simms threw a clunker that was uncatchable. His body language after that play showed his discouragement with the throws over his head & beyond his reach that Geno & Simms were tossing his way. Good guy, wish him well but happy with our WRs.
  4. Jests-Fins still have to play their 2 games. If either team sweeps that may have an impact.
  5. Several Bills fans wearing Bills stuff (along with me) on the flight up to BUF! Meeting some college buddies who are are also flying in for the game. Two Bills fans & two Jets fans.,,.c'mon Bills
  6. This is one of the reasons why Viagra exists
  7. He is looking ok so far. One of the first off the bench, 2-2 from 3 and 3-4 from 2 pt. He is the only college player I personally know because my boys played bball with him in HS and I have sat next to his parents at some of their games. He and McAdoo going against each other may be the best HS game I ever saw. He is a good kid and things did not work out for him at Duke but I hope it does at SU.

  9. Thanks, that was great.
  10. Thanks for asking and like the Python reference. It is her business but I help out a bunch. The biz is doing ok. She is doing more catering and specialty events which is what she was driving toward (pun intended) and also being more selective in the events she attends. As you know, the restaurant business is intensely competitive and exhausting and I sympathize with any restaurateur or mobile food owner after getting a first-hand view of what is involved. If I am not occupied with my job, I will cook (I also went to Brittany with her and worked in a creperie) with her at some events. That part is typically enjoyable...it is just everything else: employee stuff, taxes for the different jurisdictions where working, application fees, licenses, inspections, maintenance, clean-up, prep, etc. I am sure you would have done well in the gourmet mobile food business. The specialty/gourmet association puts you on a different track than the standard fare.
  11. Thanks. Her family is from France and she trained at a creperie in Brittany so these are about as close to authentic as you are going to get in the states. I would check the web site or facebook before you arrive to see where her trailer is. The complete Nov schedule (some are already there) should be out in a few days.
  12. Music tonight: http://www.crossroadsrva.com/calendar.html http://ashlandcoffeeandtea.com/events/balsam-range Both bands are good. AC&T is about 15 min N of Richmond. I might be at AC&T so let me know if you go. Also, one block from AC&T is 'The Caboose' a specialty beer, wine, etc. shop. Free wine tasting 5-7. A good way to get ready for the show at AC&T. Both places have local microbrews available. Tomorrow 8-12: South of the James Farmers Market - largest in the area and you can get breakfast. http://sojmarket.com/ My wife's food trailer will be there so stop by and say hi if you go. http://www.moniquescrepes.com/ Tony
  13. Sorry to hear about your computer but glad you got some info to help you. If your father is going back to BWI on SW, that flight is at 6:20, not 6:30. Ten minutes can mean a lot when you are hustling to catch a plane. That was the info from jboys. He was trying to get to Erie not the BUF airport.
  14. In regards to the OP's question, the best I can deduce from your info is that it may be possible to get to the BUF airport for a 6:30 flight IF the game does not run long and you scramble out of the Ralph quickly and have a good spot at Hammers. This is based on the mileage you indicated that you traveled in one hour. However, a couple of elements scramble this possibility: 1.) You were traveling in the opposite direction of the airport and traffic may be more of a factor going in the other direction 2.) you say that you were in Erie "within an hour at the end of the game". Erie is 86 miles from the Ralph. You also stated that "I made it to 90W in probably 40 min". Though I am highly skeptical of the first statement, it really blows up in combination with the other statement. The best I can tell, you got fairly far going southwest from the Ralph within an hour or so of the game using the steps you took. Perhaps the OP can use that.
  15. What time did you get to the BUF airport and get through security for your flight? The OP noted it was his father that would be taking the flight. You are a bit younger and may be moving faster to get to your vehicle than he would. Lots of comments here but not many really relate to the OPs question regarding getting his father to the BUF airport for a 6:30 flight after a 1:00 game when parking in Hammer's lot. For those that have mentioned other lots, are you indicating that parking there would circumvent the exodus somehow and allow the opportunity to make the 6:30 flight? I find it difficult to interpret some of the replies.
  16. I have parked at Hammer's in the past and made it to BUF in time for 7:15 flights on SW. Unfortunately, the latest flight in 2013 for SW on Sun night is now 6:20. No way, short of leaving the stadium early, can you get there and through security from the Ralph. I realize this may not help you in any way. My only options are to fly out Monday or pay more $ to fly later on another airline. When you have 70k people at any sporting event, the chances are very small in any city that you can leave immediately after that event ends and get to the airport and through security within 2 hrs. I have considered other cities where I have attended events with crowds like this and that timeline holds true. I welcome others to submit examples that defy this but they must be devoid of the following: illegal activities and/or jet packs or other technology that is beyond the common man.
  17. Ha - that was a screw up on my part! Though I guess it it has the same accuracy. Not sure about the stingy sun but have seen animals change in advance of an approaching hurricane/typhoon. But those are not far ranging predictions or forecasts but recognition of actual physical (pressure, etc.) changes that are occurring which result in an imminent event.
  18. I hate to throw ice on this because it's kind of fun folklore but unfortunately there is no scientific evidence to support any of these. Somewhat akin to using meteorology to predict your personality/life. http://news.psu.edu/story/141165/2007/09/24/research/probing-question-farmers-almanac-accurate http://www.wunderground.com/blog/JeffMasters/winter-forecast-part-iii-the-old-farmers-almanac http://www3.ag.purdue.edu/counties/hancock/Documents/AgFiles/NewsArticles/2012/NRHCwoolyworms12.pdf Persimmon seed - see Farmer's Almanac
  19. Check out the hour long 'Talking Bad' with Gilligan and the rest of the cast immediately after the finale 'Felina'
  20. I rented a car for a day from Alamo at BUF for the opener for $37 including taxes. Cheaper & more flexible when I considered taxi costs
  21. But Mornhinweg (Jets OC) loves to throw the ball even if his run game is working (see Jests vs. Pats*).
  22. You may want to watch 'Talking Bad' after this latest episode. RJ Mitte may have gone against script (right when Hardwick interrupts him) and revealed something that will please you.
  23. I heard from a couple of vintners that 2013 is gonna be a sh*tt year for wine on the east coast.
  24. I feel a little differently and I apologize for going off topic. Fortunately for us, health and quality of life can frequently be addressed through either of these. Just one example is the continual advancements in surgical techniques for joint replacement that allow for less invasive procedures and result in quicker recovery time. Some new pharma drugs are being released that reverse the effects of rheumatoid arthritis and certain types of breast cancer. These were not available just a couple of years ago. I will agree that occasionally people choose prescriptions (or surgery) for what might have been addressed by diet, exercise, or PT. Because the country is crazy about drugs does not mean that my boss would be ok if I decided to light up because I though it made me more creative. Even if I were more creative, it is illegal in the state where I live. Similarly, most, if not all, sports governing bodies have banished PEDs. What may be more interesting in the future would be the league assessment of technology advancements such as the replacement of catastrophic ligament damage with another material more durable than a human ligament.
