  1. People who base their fantasy picks on last year's results don't win in fantasy football. You can almost always take that to the bank.
  2. IMO , you can't count on ANY QB maintaining possession of the football when his protection breaks down in less than 2 seconds and the action comes from behind him while he's setting up to throw. It's really more of a freak thing than something you can even work on. On the other fumble , I agree with most that he should have tucked that thing away or thrown it away by the time he was hit.
  3. FWIW, I thought he played pretty damn well last night. I've seen all that before from him, but under a one game scope, he looked pretty good, on target, and just barely mobile enough to make it work.
  4. Check the clips from practice on the main Bills site. He looks pretty good, and certainly better than the other two tonight. Both KH and CN threw multiple picks along with JP's one which explains your overall view a bit though...
  5. You got that in reverse. In MularkeyGreggoVille, you call a pass every time on 3rd or 4th and 2 or less.
  6. Think Rams. The two outside WR's run the same kinds of routes and perform the same functions. The slot guys and Te / backs seem to perfom the roles you speak of.
  7. I think she'll say something like "Ohh It was Priceless"
  8. Hey, follow me over to the "evans will be a great #1 " thread
  9. I'm not sure where you are getting this from Simon. Please enlighten me. I'm serious here, not being sarcastic. On your points: 1) I didn't see that in camp at all. Can't really recall from when he was here in '03 2) I don't recall him ever having a drop issue. He DID have a few too many fumbles that happened from extra effort attampts 3) In '03 he caught a ton of passes where the route was of medium distance and he outran the rest of the coverage to the endzone. OFfhand I remember the Vikings game, the Texans game, and I think the Raider game. In Camp he has gotten a few deep completions as well. 4) I agree on his troubles in traffic. I think, if you don't mind me taking the liberty, that you just REALLY prefer the stronger, better blocking, all around receivers in this league, which PP is not. I think he will do well in this offense, especially since the #2 position looks to be somewhat situational in this scheme.
  10. Some of you are hopelessly stubborn
  11. None of that is true in the least.
  12. It is a damn shame isn't it? His fantastic blocking down field also gets wasted by him "dropping" himself out of the lineup.
  13. Price was wide open on a 9 (fly) route on the same play that Evans caught the TD. He was also wide open on a deep hitch that JP short-armed into the dirt. He has also caught everything thrown his way in practice. Let's continue to blindly speculae though 'cause it's fun!
  14. Yep. I agree with just about all of that. As others have mentioned, it was also nice that JP took the blame during the interview afterward. That's an important step in his leadership development. Looking at the fumbles, I'm not gonna worry too much about the second one. The Pocket really collapsed from all angles and he was hit by his own guy, and he didn't even have time to set up properly. The first fumble was definitely all on JP.
  15. I've seen the replay over and over on my DVR with Reed coming right at the camera. He gets to the break point in the route and has a look on his face like "I don't know where to go". Then he makes a half-effort break to the outside. JP threw the inside slant. It still would have been a bad pass resulting in either no gain or a breakup, but certainly not an INT for a TD.
  16. If you watched the game, there is a fair amount of pass rush coming on a consitent basis.
  17. Better all around back yes. My point was that Barry would not have a list of carries that looked like this behind the Dallas O-line: 1,2,-1,0,25,1,3,-2,-1,0,48 It would have likely looked more like: 4,3,8,5,2,0,25,5,7,3,2,48 get it? The dallas O-line made holes such that the back did not receive first contact often til 4 - 5 yards down field.
  18. Someone commented that he didn't hit the hole hard enough on the short yardage plays he was in there for. That's all I have heard on Gates.
  19. You stop that right now Mr.! And OJ didn't have a weak set of legs (you conveniently skipped over the weak arm comment)
  20. Thurman squirted through holes sideways, backwards, or any way he could. That defines a very determined runner, but not a "downhill" runner.
  21. No, Walter with the career .400 "winning" percentage That reminds me... I always have wished that the bears that year would have given Walter a chance to shine in that Superbowl. Instead of the "fridge" play, don't you think they would have tried to get the ball to the best running back of all time (IMO ) after a faithful career on a losing team?
  22. Hey, I'll take Big plays mixed with turnovers over three and outs all day, but that's just me. If Nall shows he can make plays down the field, then he deserves his shot. He has not shown this yet (remember the coaches see a lot more than we do) No spinning required.
