  1. Walter Payton...What a loser!
  2. There is no back that "wins". Teams win.
  3. Desperate how? By bringing up facts from a body of work over the course of a guy's playing career?
  4. Thurman Thomas was also not a downhill runner. Neither is Curtis Martin. Nor is Tomlinson, or Alexander, or Marshall Faulk
  5. I refer you to the thread started by KTFABD earlier.
  6. Ok so you gonna go on record saying that Barry would have seen all those gaping holes you could drive a golf cart through created by the Dallas O-line and chose instead to run latterally into traffic and do his thing? I'm not gonna buy that and I don't think very many others would either.
  7. I'm surprised, but happy to hear this about Price...
  8. Don't you think that had anything to do with the swiss cheese O-line he played behind? Are you saying that Barry would have had similar results playing his career for Dallas?
  9. If you don't like my example I can understand that, but every back out there that you see averaging a healthy 4.5 ypc and up does so because they break a run once in a while. These guys mostly average 3 to 4 ypc on most runs until they hit one big. The select few who average more than this but don't really get any longer runs do so because they are often not touched until they are 3 or 4 yards down the field. (see Emmit Smith, Larry Johnson last season, etc.)
  10. You could be right, and I assume you're speaking of JP vs. Nall. From everything I've seen and heard, Jp is the only one of the three that can really make this offense go. They really do plan on stretching the field alot, it is obvious both in practice and in games. He has shown that ability from the start this year and in the game last night. But the turnovers cannot continue to be a trend with him Nall managed a good game last night, which is important and good for him He doesn't appear to have the same abilites to throw the longer out and in routes, although he seems far superior to KH in that dept. He deserves a chance in this thing still, but only if JP doesn't show progress in the areas of concern above. Before and after the injury, Nall has thrown atleast as many poor passes in camp as Holcomb has. Holcomb is a shell of his former self, which was no great shakes to begin with. He has gone from a backup that I feel very comfortable with to a guy that looks out of his element in this new offense.
  11. I'm getting very, very tired of Qb Duels in this town If only the team had played the kid all season last year we'd be further along in his development and know more of what we have.
  12. Can we please once and for all take Matt Leinart , with his Hollywood lifestyle, soft arm, and Top 3 contract demands, out of this discussion? Cutler could be another story but ML was just not a fit for Buffalo. Also Cutler has played once, in a preseason game. We may not know much about him til atleast next season.
  13. This is the most over-used, illogical, critique ever used in football. By your account, Barry Sanders was a garbage runningback.
  14. Not necessarily, or atleast until the staff decides that the sacks were the result of poor judgement by Losman. I agree that the pick should be more of a concern if it was indeed a poor read.
  15. does anyone know if the starting O-line was in on those fumbles?

  17. I'm just going to read the game log
  18. Thanks AKC! You were dead on last season and here's hoping we see that improvement this season that you mention the possibility of.
  19. Atleast 90% of drafted players (my own figure ) are going to have an adjustment period to adapt to the NFL. This includes 1st rounders, 7th rounders and anything in between. This adjustment period can be anywhere from part of one season , to up to 3 full seasons of play depending on age, position, etc.. The ones that seem to "get it" early are a blessing, but this is not something that can be counted on.
  20. Simon's love for Price is well known around here After seeing him back here again live and on tv it's clear to me what you're going to get. He's not your "complete" all around receiver. You're not going to be necessarily happy with his blocking, or apparently his desire to come back to the ball after a route is run and the qb stil has the ball. What you will see is very good hands, good route running, along with good quickness and speed. He has caught everything thrown his way in camp so far, and we'll see how it all translates soon enough. From what I saw he should be the #2 WR hands down, even considering he is not "complete".
  21. Excellent Post Mr. Simon! Enjoyed the detailed description and it made me feel a little better about the line play, which I have no recording of to take a 2nd look at. Did you notice Everett at all from a blocking standpoint?
  22. Looking merely at the game play by play is always going to lead to many false assumptions, and it shows here. This is much the same as what a typical ESPN reporter would do before commenting on the Bills game
  23. I think I love that guy
  24. It's not as black and white as Losman = Athletic Holcomb = Cerebral It's more like: Losman = more athletic, just as smart, but less experienced Holcomb = less athletic, just as smart, more experienced.
