  2. That would be somewhat understandable but still suck because his play on the filed was so surprisingly good last year.
  3. Simply an awesome post!
  4. Bruce was closer to 300 than 280 when he started. Then he decided to dedicate himself to conditioning. These are not the same types of De's to even compare as has been stated. Maybin at his best possible outcome could translate to a Jason Taylor/ Jevon Kearse type player.
  5. Sure is. Most don't get to have that kind of run... Amongst the good QB's of his era, Kelly was one of the least likely to throw a "300 yard game". If you include playoffs which was a significant part of his career he threw for 300 like once out of every 6 or 7 games. The Bills were at their best when he threw for between 200 and 250 for many reasons as some here have explained. And I am not comparing the two guys, but merely refuting the point that 300 yards means anything at all. Again, for passing, YPA is the number to check. Also TD to Int ratio. What we should really be wondering is if Trent will become a good , smart team leader who will use his personal football skills help win more games than he loses.
  6. Fair enough. That top 20 is more about his longevity than anything though. He really wasn't considered a "300 yd QB" in the normal sense that it is thought of. A typical Kelly game was like 18-28 for 220 yds and a TD or maybe 2. especially in the victories. My point still stands IMO but good lookup .
  7. Jim Kelly wasn't a 300 yard guy. He had the occasional but not too often. We were (and should be striving to be) a balanced football team geared towards our own weather conditions. If you want to go with stats look at Yards per attempt. If it's over 7 you're productive in the passing game.
  8. Not saying I know anything about him, just how they have reacted to him. Maybe it's just being homers. Or maybe he's a decent player.
  9. I have never heard my diehard Steeler fan friends speak of him in that light. They think highly of him for what it's worth.
  10. I'd be ok if our picks shook out that way...
  11. Quoted for truth
  12. This current team is the 85 Bears compared to the collection of players they had in say '68, '71, '84 or 2001. Not even close the way I see it.
  13. Some very sobering and valid points in there for sure Badol, especially re: the O-line....along with some stretches that make things seem maybe a bit worse than they need to.... ie.. Stroud or a healthy Schobel needing to be in a rotation at best (seriously??) ie.. Edwards fragile? Maybe... Physically limited?? I don't think so. Is he as strong as Cutler? no I'll give you that. ie. no mention of a vastly improved WR corps overall other than TO is getting old There are other things but overall and unfortunately I agree that this cannot possibly lead to a good record in 2009
  14. If it were up to me , if they can get a 3rd for Parrish that's ok but anything less is not worth it. I feel like he's is one of the reasons we fans come to see the games, and he's too valuable as an elite returner to go for scraps.
  15. I only wish you knew what the hell you are talking about. I'd feel better. Unfortunately you are wrong and he is a dominant player and we got shafted. This sux!
  16. None of it goes to the coach IMO. DJ is his football coach, not his "life coach" or "social skills coach" and he is not the little angel on his shoulder. This is the off season as well. If the actions the police took were indeed called for, then Donte is 100% responsible. Hell, I'm sure DJ would probably take some of the blame knowing how he at times takes the fall for his players but he would be wrong to do so. I know of your disdain for DJ but lets not stretch this too far here. :-)
  17. at New England Houston at Miami Tampa Bay Jets at Kansas City BYE WEEK New England Cleveland at Jacksonville at Tennessee New Orleans at Atlanta Indianapolis (at Toronto) at Carolina Miami at Jets
  18. Comparing # of tackles for the DE position is truly laughable. What a fan world we live in
  19. Stats? lol considering the only one who has his "stats" is his O-line Coach. It's true that Peters is nowhere near Pace and Ogden. Just not in the way you're thinking.
  20. A young pro bowl LT with his talent is certainly ALWAYS going to garner AT LEAST a 1st round pick. It didn't take Tim or any other source to tell us that. He's worth both the Eagle's picks for sure IMO but that's another "Discussion".
  21. exactly... Nothing new here at all. I still think the Bills will have an opportunity to sign Peters for that matter.
  22. Just promise to leave by the time the season rolls around Skooby and we'll be ok
  23. What a waste of your time original poster. Linemen get judged far differently than skill position players though and this proves nothing. It doesn't take a football genius to see that Peters is a very good player, and has the potential to be the best LT the Bills have seen in a long time.
  24. I agree with all of it except the idea of the Bills somehow being able to control whether they trade down or not. They gotta have a dancing partner and it has to be a fair offer. That is out of their control (as it always is). Otherwise, I am fine with taking an OG fairly early (2nd rd).
