  1. Lee Evans agreed with that (your) asessment on his weekly radio show and he's a fellow WR, so....
  2. 1-There's no way in Hell Lee is a better route runner than Andre was (where did that come from???) but I do think Lee is a very good route runner. Andre may have been of of the best route runners ever. 2- I think they form a formidable enough group to be considered a "Big 3" as much as a team needs a big3. 3- Re: Evans, I think we'd really have to know the full details of what is going on as far as the scheme... Is he running short crossing routes and not getting open or has he been running longer routes only. It's not like he's dropping balls on short passes out there. It seemed to me in the 1st game that he was involved in a creative mixture of routes, both short and long, but since then has been sent down the field more often. He Excels in every other area I can think of. 4- Don't worry about the strange over-reaction and stat propping in this thread. Most of us can tell that you weren't dissing Lee by calling him a "1a" . Many of us also judge players by watching their play on the field and I am in full agreement that it holds more weight than stats.
  3. When you cut out all the Peters Love/Hate/Contract/ personal pride garbage and look at all the plays he has participated in over the past 2 games (the ones that the camera angle allows us to see at least) it is clear and actually not really debatable that- 1-He has made a few bad plays that hurt the team. 2-He has been dominant and/or done his job correctly on almost all the other plays. There is also a short term effect on line chemistry that usually comes into play when a guy returns from an injury or hold out. That would have only gotten significantly worse the longer they kept him out.
  4. They beat the Giants at NY that season (90). It was the "three yards and a cloud of dust" game.
  5. They both played horribly in the games vs. the Bills. But they both had running games to win the day. Poor examples if you're refering to them vs. the Bills.
  6. I just yelled BRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCEEEE !!!! as well since I have to attend my son's Vince Lombardi football game. I was standing up when I cheered Bruce though so I hope I didn't piss off any of you tennis match watchers behind me.
  7. Watching the whole game I don't think Peters was very rusty at all considering.... The sack was his poor moment, but wasn't horrible...Trent had a 7 step drop and did have time to release the ball, but yes it's still on Peters. I missed the one blown up running play, but there were many plays where he handled himself quite nicely one on one is pass protect and of course his second block in the Marshawn TD run was a thing of beauty. We must also consider the JAGS D as one of the tougher ones in football, with a very competent D-line.
  8. Munoz was great for sure!
  9. Nope, no RT other than Boselli (for a much shorter time) gave Bruce more of a problem than Webb. I am quite clear and sure of this. They went toe to toe, pound for pound, move for move time and time again and he really kept ole Bruce as quiet as one could in those days.
  10. If you're talking seeing live in-person, Richmond Webb was the best I've seen vs. our Bills. He gave Bruce fits.
  11. I was looking for the same. EDIT- Found it here: http://www.97rock.com/
  12. As a singer I can tell you that yes you can project your voice louder and longer from a standing position. More capacity for the diaphram. It's not a tennis match either it's a football game. I don't want to get into any stupid pissing match about it though because it will go nowhere like most of these such discussions. I respect your opinion.
  13. You SHOULD be standing when the defense is on the field, especially on 3rd down. Just sayin' , not discouraging your other points though. In the run during the nineties , most people stood for a large portion of the game and not too many seemed to have an issue with it. It's weird to me how that has changed. BTW I don't drink at Bills games and never have.
  14. For football in general and not the Bills specifically I gotta say the 80's were great. Marino, Kelly, Elway, Montana, Ken Anderson, Fouts, Payton, Dickerson, Riggins, Marcus Allen, LT, Singletary, Clay Matthews, Lester Hayes, Monk, Lofton, Rice, Reed, Dent, Mecklenburg, Dorsett, Byner and Mack, Kosar, Bruce, and on and on...
  15. That's possible... Lol "herniated"
  16. That did cross my mind that they're testing RB too. I guess in the big picture he may be doing the right thing, but we all suffer short term.
  17. This sucks. Even the most positive fan can't deny what the effects can be from 2 significant players being out of the lineup for potentially the whole year. And you want to respect the organization for being firm and no-nonsense but also respect , at least in Crowell's case, what a player feels is going on with his knee. Things like this can teeter a season from barely playoff-bound to more of the same mediocrity.
  18. Julie catch a rabbit by his hair?
  19. 1st Loss at SD. Looks like a 13-3 Season to me
  20. Witten pick was too early for a 12 man league unless you get pts for catches. You didn't get a #1 FF receiver either. Other than that I like your picks. Rb's are good. Parker should bounce back this year with some more scores. Stallworth late might be a good one. Jags D too. 12 team leagues are watered down, but not so much that you can't get a #1 at 2 significant positions.
  21. Think? ... Watch right here if you don't have it taped: http://xssports.rack111.com/billsvssteelers/ Open your mind as well to the possibility that last year there were times where our young rook was assigned no more than 2 reads on a given pass play. Combine that with no audibles allowed and you have a hamstrung quarterback in many situations. Plus a good football discussion/debate usually involves some give and take. You offer very little for a long-timer whose comments sparked my interest. Oh well.
  22. Sorry for trying to be lighthearted then about your partially correct commentary. Whatever the case, Trent looks off safeties /LB's more than any of our previous QB's since Kelly. He came to Royal as a 2nd look on the 1st touchdown the other night for example. Look for yourself.
