  1. Friggin beautiful ... A mockery of the rest of the league it is.
  2. Buffalo beats the living schitt out of Cincy just about every time the play them lately. Plus, the FA's we DID sign were not dumb luck. They were calculated.
  3. Every team has a bunch of Bennie Anderson's and Tuten Reyes's filling their backup positions. There may be one or 2 lucky teams in the NFL that have both a very good starting LT and a good backup. Our guy last year in that position played better than you think, though not an adequate starter. What happens if Peters goes down? Were in bad shape. Just like the Rams were last year w/o Pace and the Ravens are even more pathetic on offense whenever Ogden gets hurt. The list goes on. I am one who really stresses the importance of an O-line to a team as well, but I think this talk is out of hand looking at the rest of the league and considering that there were multiple positions of need in the draft. Would I have been happy if we drafted Alrbert in the 1st instead of Mcelvin? Yes (one of the few I'm sure).... But he wasn't about to come in here and help out Peters . He would have worked his way in backing up RT and challenging for starting RG spot and maybe in 2 or 3 years develop into a quality starter. The Bills were behind the 8 ball due to the previous regime and had to catch up quick last year by getting younger FA's with playing experience to fill those needs. I would call Dockery and Peters more than "NFL caliber"... and Butler is improving steadily while Walker was a surprise with how well he played last year. If someone major goes down on just about any team, it is going to create a problem. Hence the "Out of hand" comment
  4. Addressing the O-line in Free Agency is not equal to ignoring it. There's a difference between what the Bills have done in the past couple years and the way they operated for the 5 or so years prior. I would have like to see an additional lineman drafted this year for depth too but holy crap this can get out of hand...
  5. The cab guy was there before Donahoe I thought?

  7. Actually Romes was one of the better corners the Bills have ever had. You must be thinking of someone else.
  8. He was always my favorite non-Bill. Great guy too... Best running back I have ever seen (I didn't get to see Brown).
  9. I don't think anyone disagrees that he (Kelly) should drop to the 2nd round, it's just that there is a deep obsession amongst lots of NFL fans about 40 time, likely derived from the various national outlets that cover football and Mel Kiper. It is a factor, but the poster is right that it is MUCH more important to find out if he "explodes" out of his cut, can use his hands, find holes in zones, etc. etc. The only time the 40 time is actually going to matter at all is in a chase after the catch or if the WR is running a go or 9 route.
  10. It's too bad you went to the trouble to create all this drama when the league made the scheduling decision on what team that the Bills play in Toronto.
  11. I think most experts would agree with your point on Fowler, though disagree with the rest. The Bills pass protection was the best it has been in ages and it showed both on the field and in the numbers. Dockery is already a proven run blocker on film and the Walker/Butler combo provided our best YPC for Bills running backs last year. Personally I was stunned with how well Walker played because I expected very little. The line seemed to spend the early part of last season getting chemistry but soon after played well as a unit. There were other factors that also played into the somewhat limited overall production of the running game as well. With all that said I do feel they could use another solid OL member for depth and/or to compete at Center...
  12. No, and neither do you.
  13. Listening to Modrak and others such as Polian speak on their draft philosophies numerous times I would tend to think my estimation was fairly accurate, but if I stop to think for a moment there are likely various philosophies that have been successful and your take seems logical as well.
  14. Unlike Kelly, I do think/agree that Sweed still has a chance to go in the 1st round. I Wish he had played a bit more but he was strong when he was out there.
  15. An educated estimate of a potential draft pick's evaluation by an NFL squad.... How did he fare vs. good competition when he actually played on the field? < 75% of evaluation > How is his character? < 15% of evaluation > How are his measureables? < 10% of evaluation >
  16. I'm with ya. He's a perfect fit for the 2nd round now. Small risk but produced on the field.
  17. I think Kelly is actually faster than 4.75. The injury he is rehabbing from is likely still a factor in his 40 time. I think NFL teams know that he is faster than that based on his play against other top schools.
  18. Based on how he has looked as a Football Player On The Field I say Kelly will be a very useful 2nd round pick now. I don't see any way he would drop past the 2nd round. NFL staffs do not value 40 time as much as many of you seem to think, but Kiper does.
  19. no they don't http://www.nfl.com/combine/top-performers unless you mean tweener D-linemen who are actually linebackers
  20. The Spurs? Just a guess.
  21. Nothing in any article I have read suggests he ever touched a 1 year old child. Can somebody provide a link?
  22. I still haven't figured out how to impair time, but I'll keep trying
