  1. As fragile as he may be, the man is a game changer and a threat to go all the way every time he touches the ball. No way could we get enough value for him in a trade for what he is worth to the Bills. Let's keep our good players. I'm tired of sending them to the NFC. He doesn't carry a ridiculous salary.
  2. The game has already been reported to be considered a sell out as far as Buffalo is concerned and it makes sense (all the seats are indeed sold). The game will be televised. Not sure about the ramifications in Toronto though... edit- What PTS said....
  3. And you're right, it has been. All I'm pointing out is that the guy has really improved. He may still not be good enough to make it as a starter, but most people formulated their opinions on him 3 or 4 years ago and don't bother to notice. For the most part as I see it, players improve or even regress quite frequently in the league. What you know about last year doesn't necessarily mean you know what is to come this year from many of them.
  4. Man, that was well put.
  5. For those that don't hold too hard to their initial opinions and realize that players can improve, you can see he has. He is not ideal but I really like his passion this season and he has outplayed Fowler at the position and holds his ground with leverage a lot better than he used to. Most, even all pro centers often need help with the really good 3-4 NT's. Duke seems to really care and it shows in his play on the field.
  6. Please stop with this nonsense. We have seen your opinion in countless threads on this exact topic. I'd say all but one or 2 posters feel that you are completely wrong in that opinion. Most realize that ML is indeed a very good RB with top 10 potential. Most realize that FJ gets many of his carries on 3rd and long out of a spread and most realize that ML gets the majority of the 3rd and short carries. Most realize that ML runs harder than just about any back in the league today. Most realize that a YPC stat cannot be attributed to a single player as well. Most do feel that FJ is a very nice RB too (that is , not to slight him).
  7. you guys SERIOUSLY have to be kidding. It's not as embarrassing as you may think to really not know what you are seeing on the filed in terms of blocking. Even the best analysts have to know the scheme for each play before they really know, but Peters did infact have a VERY good game today, and especially last week. Bill, your point on Kelsay was so true! I was screaming at the tube as he let that long gainer go by on the cutback.
  8. True Butler was vastly over-rated as a GM He was a great talent e v a l guy though in a head of scouting sort of position.
  9. Bill, of all things from this game we can discuss and all the heartache that followed, if you're going to make a positive point or two you could atleast mention the O-line. The had to block for what seemed like 8 seconds per passing play and finally opened some nice holes in the running game. They even adjusted early when Duke was getting abused early. Peters was all worlrd last night. It's really a damn shame.
  10. Players aren't typically drafted based on how well they will do in the same season you draft them. It might also help that AZ has played from ahead quite often this season...just a thought.
  11. The Road Jerseys
  12. It's because he was a really good road-grading run blocker when he was with Washington. Stop using hindsight to B word at the front office for paying him and realize that the player is no longer playing at a high level. The anger should be geared towards the player.
  13. Yes, our team was trying to be aggresive and he was within the contraints of the rules. Ridiculous call.
  14. Good post again RR... A nice mix of honesty and humor. one minor point... "Boneheaded play by Simpson" ????? No
  15. Thanks for the post Bill. Poorly coached game on both sides of the ball for the Bills. (rush 4 AND cover deep ???) Trent was horrible. Just really gun-shy and off target. HE missed a couple wide open (Hardy again) Wr's going down the field. I thought the pass protection was quite good save the one play by Chambers. Run blocking was terrible. Again. With all that said this was one of the worst officiated games I have ever seen. From the roughing on paper Randy (apparently) at the start of the game, to one of our DE's seemingly running in place and missing a sack because he was held right out in the open for 4 seconds flat without a hint of a call, right down to the "Defensive holding" call on Stroud and last to the onside kick that didn't even get a look by the "officials".
  16. That was no jump ball. A jump ball would require someone to actually jump. It was well underthrown. Just a bad example, theres no two ways about it.
  17. That was no "lackluster effort" by Hardy on the endzone play. It was well underthrown and he fought around the DB and tried to take it away but couldn't. Trent admitted himself that it was a bad throw.
  18. Great post RR.. I agree and have lots of the same concerns. Very disturbing to have lost that game at home right after another disturbing divisional loss. This will be a tough position to overcome now...
  19. Bring it up again after the 2009 season has been played.
  20. Another thing the "tackles downfield" group always failed to realize was that scheme is a huge factor on whether or not your tackles will come downfield or right at the line of scrimmage as a MLB.
  21. Tried to 'splain that myself here: Factors that alter stats
  22. Exactly because nevermind the following: -What down and distance a carry was on -What team they were playing -What part of the field the play was on. -How the line blocked on the particular play -What defensive call was made? Was it an obvious running situation, or a 3rd down and long draw play (Freddy most commonly lined up for that play over Lynch for example) to get into a better punting situation. -What the conditions were like -What the fatigue level of the opponent was -What plays were run leading up to this play -etc -etc.... I really like both backs on our team btw
  23. Suddenly Stats in the ultimate team sport are considered "facts" for evaluating individuals. Great!! The Kenny Davis comparison above was most welcome..
  24. Maybe if 2 or 3 guys keep posting how average Lynch is (like 40 times in the past 24 hours), some people will start to believe it... Is that the strategy going on? Otherwise this is ridiculous... All you have to do is watch the man play. He is the total package with power, enough speed to get the job done, cutting ability, stiff arm, pass protection and pass receiving. Great in the red zone...Lacks at times in following the running lane discipline but that'll keep getting better. He is a top 10-12 back in the NFL. I also like Jackson a ton... He has fantastic field vision and hands with deceptive speed. Very good hard nosed runner. Great 2nd option for any team. Can start for a couple games if necessary.
