  1. He gave the guys that won the jobs through their play on the field (in practice and pre-season) the starting jobs. That is a positive, not something to chastise Gailey for.
  2. Well at least you typed IMHO
  3. No but I'd trade him for a decent starting RT with the potential to start
  4. I would never bash Kelsay... He seems like a great guy and he was a decent stop-gap type DE ... He simply cannot play in space. Period. All he will be able to do from his new position is defend the run. Nothing against him.
  5. BS Sanchez does not go down the field... He checks down more frequently than our guy. Alot of it is because they tell him to. Alot of it is because he sucks. All those ex- players announcing last night were all over that constantly.
  6. Yeah I heard ya right.... I just meant that my opinion differed from what 80% of everyone else was telling you and I hoped you could respect that. The Parrish pass was an easy throw but a good early read on the safety. I'm hoping that at least the interior line will get their act together and allow for a pocket to step into in the coming weeks. It would be nice to see a little offense even though we'll surely lose the next 2...
  7. Agreed Kelsay was by far the worst player on the field when the Bills were on D. Totally lost at the new position.
  8. Actually Bill , if you have respect for a differing opinion, no Trent was not horrible... and you know I'm a Bills fan, not a "Trent fan" or any other individual over another so I have no motive to protect him. some points I observed through careful observation: The Phins were in the backfield all day long. Anyone that is saying Trent had ample time to throw is not accurate. The interior line was awful (not just the tackles), including Wood unfortunately ... and there was no pocket to step up into Bell was a lot better than Green, who has been awful so far. Receivers did not come back to the ball well when he was forced out of the pocket. He didn't have a particularly good game but he did look like a guy that's learned a few things in the off-season from someone who knows how to coach offense. He had good zip on his throws and was accurate other than the last drive where that went out the window. A couple good pass plays were called back by penalties. He kept his head down the field a lot more than last season. He looks like he is enjoying the challenge at not thinking as much about the rush all the time. If the Line can gel a little bit over the season, he may look better and better but that is yet to be seen....
  9. Another potentially un-noticed moment was when there was a jailbreak safety blitz on and Trent rolled just enough and winged it sidearm to Spiller for a 2 yard gain. Doesn't sound like a big deal but that pressure was coming FAST and Trent avoided the sack, knew where his guy would be and got the ball out accurately by improvising, avoiding a huge loss.
  10. The whole D-line to me honestly looked impressive. They seem to be able to generate pressure much better than in recent years, even when the LB's don't come in. They are holding up well against the interior running game too...
  11. Good to hear from you Simon! Agreed on this team looking like, well, a team again with real coaching! Long way to go but some very good signs... Just seeing how they utilized Roscoe tells you all you need to know about the coaching on the offensive side of the ball in the past number of years and how dreadful it really was.
  12. Doubt it highly
  13. Because most people on message boards rate players based on Stats, as opposed to how well they play their responsibilities they are given (which one cannot always figure out from the TV screen). 9 picks = he's Hall of Fame bound and can do no wrong in other words.
  14. Try reading what I wrote oh you fine spinner of cliche...
  15. Looks like you missed a large portion of the game then, even though you were there. As many have said already, when the OT gets both hands on him...sure...he's pretty useless right now. When he gets the edge (which he did atleast 5 times Friday) , he usually makes pretty good things happen (ie. a Sack, A forced Sack into another player which both happened Friday along with a hurry or 2)
  16. I agree... there's no way the WR Depth chart is near final. CJ has been a stud and Hardy has been pretty darn good from the the 2 days I went. Nothing Huggins or Jones has done has been any better than those 2. I can see Roscoe owning the slot position so that makes sense....
  17. Reed's playoff performances were far more feast than famine, and his playoff production and significance dwarfed that of CC.
  18. He had a nice pick the day I went to camp ...
  19. Numerous posts are mentioning a trade down. That is not something you can just do at will. You have to make a team think they aren't gonna get their guy unless they move up to your spot, and then you have to get good value in the trade offer. Plus, why wouldn't a team with no homerun threats nab one when they get the opportunity? They get possibly the 2nd or 3rd best player in the entire draft at 9 instead of reaching for a guy that's barely worth being picked in the top 20.
  20. Wouldn't have picked any of those 1st round guys in the 9 slot. And don't even mention trade down because a team can't just magically do that.
  21. Na it's true, Maybin is actually making strides. Watched him a lot today...When he gets a step on a guy it's over...he's developing some good rush moves. If they get a hold of him though it's over for him... That part may never change. Although there have been some pretty successful guys in the NFL that fell into that category. Maybin would have had 3 or 4 sacks today so he is atleast improving whil estill taking into account that our tackles aren't the greatest.
  22. Na, not to jump in here but it was clear to many who watched the guy play games at Ohio State that he was not an NFL caliber Quarterback, other than maybe a gadget type of guy.
  23. That was covered actually in my "fairly inept stable of qb's " comment. Trent is miles better than Troy Smith will ever be, and Trent has some serious issue right now so that's saying a lot.
  24. Troy Smith ??? Really???? This is for real right??? Troy Smith???? I feel confident in saying that all 4 of our fairly inept "stable" of Qb's are better than Troy Smith will ever be. Where does this stuff come from?
