  1. Na, not to jump in here but it was clear to many who watched the guy play games at Ohio State that he was not an NFL caliber Quarterback, other than maybe a gadget type of guy.
  2. That was covered actually in my "fairly inept stable of qb's " comment. Trent is miles better than Troy Smith will ever be, and Trent has some serious issue right now so that's saying a lot.
  3. Troy Smith ??? Really???? This is for real right??? Troy Smith???? I feel confident in saying that all 4 of our fairly inept "stable" of Qb's are better than Troy Smith will ever be. Where does this stuff come from?
  4. Not a chance. By the end of the Titans game our O-line was so banged up we had to replace our already poor starters with some dreadful options for blockers. Would have lost to the Colts on the road fo sho.... I think if I'm not mistaken there was one starter left.
  5. You may be right about those things but you aren't about TE's arm strength ... His arm is every bit as strong as Drew Brees's. He's not nearly as good of a QB, but arm is certainly as strong. Trent is probably right in the middle of the pack as Arm Strength goes. Doesn't really mean much though.
  6. I like all 3 too , but who scores more TD's is a bunk measure. Sorry. Butch Rolle was a TD machine and sucked. Put the short yardage guy in down by the goal line..makes sense Freddy sees the holes and whole field much better. Spiller will start off as (hopefully) a great change of pace guy.
  7. It's too hard of an argument to tell you to go back and watch the guy on TV playback. He's done it consistently over his career against varying levels of competition, and plays the run individually quite well to boot. I wouldn't call him a HOF'er mind you, but If you watch him play and know what you're watching, that's all you need. Stats have become too prominent in the attempted analysis of the modern football fan. And Jason Taylor is/was pretty damn good too... Point? Some of his "bad teams" still had really good defenses.
  8. Simon R Rich Lori KTFABD Bill from NYC Dave McBride
  9. Your reasoning is poor here too though (I'll refrain from horrible). 1- Sack masters with the "numbers" we are referring to played on PLAYOFF CONTENDERS. AS did not....hence no big leads in the 2nd half of games, no "tee-off" time like they all enjoyed. No fellow above average pass rushers on the D-Line w/ him either. 2- AS will never be confused with Bruce, he's just better than he's given credit for by many Bills fans.
  10. That was quite a pass indeed. Just trying to keep things in perspective. Bledsoe was a tank for sure...
  11. Do you remember the blizzard game against the (then) Phoenix Cardinals in (I think) 90' ? I you watched that game (I was in the stands covered with blankets getting pelted with 40mph sideways snow chunks) there's no way you'd be saying this. Bledsoe may have had a stronger arm literally speaking, but to say no comparison is a stretch. Part of it is technique. Nobody in the league other than Elway could have thrown like Jim did in that game. I think it was 3 TD strikes in that blizzard.
  12. Horrible reasoning... Just horrible Every Sack master gets the majority of their sacks 1- at "garbage time" with a big lead (which the Bills almost never had) and 2- Against weaker competition (ie Bruce 4 sacks on Jeff George in one game, Reggie White getting 2 or 3 every time he played the Lions). That's how it works.
  13. I suspect he has drastically improved on route running as he has been noted as working extremely hard on that during/ after his injury recovery process. Kirwin is reporting on news from 2 years ago and knows nothing of the current player. Not saying that he will make it big but we'll have to wait and see.
  14. Trent Dilfer says thanks! Dan Fouts is flipping you the bird... Wins is just as spinnable and meaningless as all the other stats. Football is a team game and wins come from a combination of players performing their jobs better than the players on the other team.
  15. The Bills were 21-10, not Flutie No QB has a winning or losing record Like Philsters example, you gonna give Flutie credit for wins in 99' ??? Seriously?? The bills D was dominant and affected games far more than the Flute-Meister.
  16. Couldn't say it better. And have you noticed that more and more people, media and fans alike, discuss players in this manner (especially Qb's )? " HE just wins football games" or "HE has a x-x record" God I hate that... All Quarterbacks throughout the history of football have a 0-0 record.

  18. It looks like the Bills really want to run the ball. Alot of the good running teams (Bal, Dal, Min now) have 3 good backs.
  19. The Pats have jumped the shark for a long time now on their whole "were smarter than everybody else" drafting strategy. They stockpile picks and take just as many average players as everybody else.
  20. And still has NOTHING to do with the draft, as he always hasn't.
  21. I have just the site : TimeKill's Blog
  22. you've got to be kidding... Anyone who has seen even a few games from the guy knows that those statements aren't true. He's as sure of a sure thing as they get in the draft. He dominates out there in most games.
  23. Apparently he's just been lucky all through College and his rookie season.
  24. Funny, I only recall maybe a handful of Bills ever leaving for another team and having any success of note out of the hundreds and hundreds that have left. If there's a Buffalo curse affecting the Bills, it's certainly not that.
