When KC eliminated us in the 2020 AFCCG, I said the ascendancy of Josh and Co. mirrored that of Kelly and the Bills. Both led their Bills teams to the conference title game in their third year in the league. Both lost in the Divisional playoff round in their fourth year in the league. Several of us here also said that like that Bills team of ‘89, playing under the weight of raised expectations might lead to fewer wins this year as the team dealt with being a lead dog. We saw that happen as well. How far will the similarities continue next season? Might we see the first of four consecutive SB appearances? I like our chances.

I appreciate where Costas is coming from and perhaps a full overtime period is warranted. In the meantime, playing defense is still a requirement in overtime and ours went missing. Had we managed to prevent KC from scoring that TD, I doubt KC’s defense would have stopped Allen, either, and we’d all be ok with the OT rules as they sit now.

Doesn’t matter because a pop up is STILL the wrong kick because the receiver can call a fair catch and no time comes off the clock. The ONLY call a squib kick and our coaches screwed the pooch big time. It’s a travesty.

Fix the OT Rule for Playoff Games--That was Stupid

Fix the OT Rule for Playoff Games--That was Stupid

Agreed. The NFL deprived the fans of seeing Josh Allen with a chance because of something totally outside any player or coach’s control. Fox the OT rules. -
Divisional round Saturday - Rams at Bucs on NBC

Damn shame to see Brady and the Bucs struggling like that. -
I'm not laughing at Dallas. They're a good team. But there is no way I can agree that Dallas has some sort of monopoly on league leading talent. There is great talent on EVERY team in the league at one position or another. That's the point. What constitutes "nearly?" By your standards, that's 28 or 32 teams. How about I amend my comment to say "most" teams? How many is that and does it still include the four worst teams in the league to bolster your point?

I could compile a similar list of players from nearly every team in the league.

Jones is a good athlete, can run like the wind. But he simply can’t make the throws Allen makes and force teams to have to defend the entire field on a routine basis. I think we are at the point where we take that for granted because Allen does it every game and makes it look so easy and it just isn’t. There are literally just a few guys on the planet like that and Jones just isn’t one of them.

And that’s where the comparisons end.

Texans getting closer to hiring Josh McCown as Head Coach
K-9 replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
This is not out of the box thinking by the Texans. This looks like nobody else returned their calls. And even though there are only 31 jobs like it in the universe, working in that environment just isn’t worth it for many candidates. -
They have a roof, but the stadium is not enclosed. It’s open air.
-
That’s an interesting comparison because the more I see of Mac Jones, the more I see a QB that came into the league very near his ceiling whereas Allen came in at his absolute floor; just a raw QB prospect in every respect. I just don’t see how Jones can improve enough to ever be as good as Allen has become given the sheer physical and athletic differences between them.

I just shoved skewers into my ears.

While I agree it starts at the top and the Pegulas own their share of problems, imo Tim Murray is the biggest reason the Sabres are in the situation they’re in now.

It’s worth noting that some scenes were filmed at All High Stadium in Buffalo where it stood in for Wrigley Field.

#ThePerfectGame not getting it's proper recognition in the press
K-9 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yep. And as great as that is in and off itself, what they did Saturday night was unprecedented; literally never seen in league history. But for some reason, unless they can do it again, they aren’t quite legit somehow. Some of these pundits were so entrenched in their anti Allen narratives they can’t admit to seeing greatness if it bites them in the ass. That idiot on 98.5 in Boston needs a reality check especially. -
#ThePerfectGame not getting it's proper recognition in the press
K-9 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
So, all Allen and Co. have to do is make NFL history two weeks in a row? Replicate what Brady, Mahomes, Rodgers et al have never done once? Then and only then will our offense be legit? Unbelievable. -
Jerry Jones won two championships with Jimmy Johnson before running him out of town. He won the third with Barry Switzer two years later.

Yep. Judon still thinks Morris has the ball.

It will be a combination of different players. Gotta limit the free releases, regardless.
