  1. Only one common thread? There are other some others.
  2. The mother of all unintended consequences. Another great episode.
  3. Victory formation is my favorite play on offense. Here’s a novel idea; how about not being behind late in a game and allowing your opponent the option of running it? To the victor go the spoils.
  4. Marcel Marceau - Silent Movie
  5. My “anger” lasted all of 10 seconds after the Chiefs drove to tie the score. My “concern” remains as I am still at a loss as to how completely unaware of the game situation we were when the Chiefs took the field on their game-tying drive. Whether is was McD, Frazier, the players, or any combination, that lack of awareness for the game situation has me questioning if we have the right people when it comes to crunch time on the D side of the ball. It was amateur night for those last 13 seconds.
  6. Never forgave Darrell Garretson and Mendy Rudolph for that foul call against Bob MacAdoo with no time left on the clock in a tie game that gave Jo Jo White three to make two at the line.
  7. He also strolled into stores for high volume clips and combat gear. Those items, along with the AR-15 should not be available for purchase by anyone, let alone mentally deranged animals like Peyton Gendron.
  8. Perhaps I wasn’t clear enough then. I should have said a small minority of their constituents is not in favor of assault rifle and high volume magazine bans. I thought I implied that when I mentioned Scalia’s opinion on Heller.
  9. They’ve polled gun owners for years and those polls suggest that most gun owners are in favor of bans on assault rifles and high volume magazines as well as stricter back ground checks.
  10. As Antonin Scalia himself opined in his Heller opinion, the right to bear arms is NOT an unlimited right. Unfortunately our elected officials, in their quest not to upset a small portion of their constituency, lack the moral courage to do what’s right and pass the necessary laws.
  11. Given his manifesto, there is no possible way a defense attorney can argue mental illness was the cause. It was a cold, pre-meditated, well planned attack carried out by a person in full control of his faculties. It will be interesting to see what kind of charges are brought in addition to the 10 counts of first degree murder and 3 counts of attempted first degree murder (as of now).
  12. That take really flies in the face of the several reviews I’ve read, which all say the effects are spectacular as well as the writing, acting, directing, and editing. And when I consider these reviews are offered by cynical critics who were chomping at the bit to trash the movie, I gotta wonder if it’s really a good movie and worth seeing on a large screen.
  13. This kind of criticism really underscores just how good the show is. Remember “The Fly” episode in BB?
  14. RIP, big Bob. Thanks for the great Delaware courts memories. I still haven’t forgiven Chris Ford.
  15. Welp, even if you continue to move the bar, there are still players on the WoF that never won even a division title. Even the worst teams in history would have players deserving to be on their respective walls of fame.
  16. Per the bold, if that were the case then nobody would be up there, except the players from the AFL championship years.
  17. That others are deserving and get the honor before him is of absolutely no significance. It’s just a matter of time. There are significant differences in the process vs that for the HoF, chief among them being that the selection committee isn’t just comprised of media members tasked with making the political argument for a player’s inclusion. Various team personnel have input. Indeed, that’s one of the reasons guys like Byrd aren’t in yet. Current employees just aren’t as steeped in team history and tradition. It’s a kind of recency bias. Anyway, I’ll just agree to disagree and move on. Regardless, we can all look forward to the next inductee, whoever that may be. BTW, Cookie was the last player honored in 2017. But your point about Hansen is well taken.
  18. Again, other players being deserving of the honor doesn’t disqualify Jerry. Lots of ex players should and will be considered as well. Hughes isn’t blocking anyone. That’s not how it works. And I’d like to see others up there before him as well. As for the significance of the drought era that, too, has no bearing on anything. There are players up there who lived thru their own thin years on many poor teams. Jerry’s four seasons of being in the playoffs dwarfs that of several of them, anyway.
  19. Aside from being a very good player whose career ranks with several others already on the Wall, and contrary to your assertion that he wasn’t a good leader, he’s one of the most well respected players that locker room ever had. He was a player coaches and teammates alike could rely on to answer the bell game in and game out during his tenure here. That steady reliability over all those years counts for a lot. He was also a great community guy whose activities he sought to deliberately down play. I agree entirely about Byrd, Kyle, and even some others that should be honored as well. But just because others are just as deserving of the honor, doesn’t mean Jerry isn’t. It’s not like he’s blocking anyone from going up there.
  20. If I’m still alive when it happens, I’ll look you up and say I told you so.
