  1. As opposed to earlier in the season when TT said, “We haven’t gotten around to that yet.” It’s nice to hear he was given some leeway vs. KC, but those words from early in the season are still worrisome to me. There is just no fricken way a 7 year veteran QB shouldn’t have “gotten around to that yet” once the season started. I put that on Dennison, butI have to wonder why he would neuter his QB in that fashion.
  2. It’s obvious Shady and our OLine do better when the defense is more spread out. I’d like to see more of it, but I understand why we don’t. We need a better pass protecting line.
  3. No. Keep Glenn in order to have your five best OLmen out there. He's a great player when healthy. That said, McBeane are going to unload his contract at the first opportunity.
  4. Because last week, in his opinion, it was right for the team. A team that clearly needed a spark and the coach made a decision to try to light one. It didn't work. Nothing more. Nothing shameful about that at all. Unless you think a coach doesn't have the right to change his mind about personnel.
  5. I'd rather he play with a better head on his shoulders. Maybe that chip is getting in the way.
  6. Well, second guessing and Monday morning quarterbacking are a luxury for guys like Rodak I guess. I don't link credibility to coaching decisions that turn out to be wrong. If that's the case, then NO coach has ANY credibility at one time or another.
  7. That's mighty presumptuous on the part of Rodak to assume playing Taylor would have guaranteed a victory given what we witnessed on the D side of the ball and Taylor's own slump against the Saints the week before.
  8. I'm curious about Rodak's comment above; what problems did starting Peterman "cause" that sitting him doesn't fix? I mean other than the problems that were manufactured by and reside solely in the minds of media types like Rodak? Because it seems like he's saying that because McD started Peterman, McD now has a problem with credibility and I don't understand that connection to a simple coach's decision to start another player.
  9. It's so much easier to understand when you break it down scientifically.
  10. My bet is that once the excitement and "prove it" mentality of being with a new team that wants him wear off, he will revert to form. It will be interesting to see what kind of shape he reports in next summer. I honestly hope the man gets it together and can chase all his demons away, but I'm not convinced he "loves" the game enough to commit on that level.
  11. Can't quibble about any other part of your post, but how was Aaron Rodgers "easily obtainable" when we didn't possess a first round pick in the 2005 draft?
  12. My thought is that if McD came in on day one and said "this is a rebuilding year" (read: we are throwing in the towel so nobody here has anything worth coaching or playing for this year) then he would have had no locker room at all and he would have enraged at least half the fan base.
  13. Not committed to Tyrod? Because he didn't announce his decision two days before the opponent's first day of installs?
  14. Sure, Brady's part of that equation no doubt; the most important part. But that doesn't take away anything else about Belichick's ability as a coach. Greatest football mind in history, I'm convinced of it. He's playing chess while everybody else plays checkers. It's just too obvious week in and week out, year in and year out. He's evolved over time. He's not the same coach he was when he started.
  15. They also have the best football mind in history at the helm. Love him or hate him, Belichick knows how to leverage every in game situation to the maximum benefit. It's not always apparent nor does he display it only in crucial, crunch time situations; it starts from the opening kickoff. Case in point, he starts managing the clock from his first possession on and adjusts throughout depending on what kind of lead he does or doesn't have and by how much or how little. And nobody is else is in his ballpark when it comes to playing the matchup game. Not even close.
  16. Yeah, something like that. I wonder who our spotters are up in the booth relaying what personnel packages are being sent in by opposing teams.
  17. Talent trumps coaching. It's a cliche to say that a coach needs to put his players in schemes they can excel in and that's true to a point. But I don't care what scheme you run, if you keep getting your butt handed to you by the opponent across from you, then no scheme is going to fix that. Only better players That said, I question Dennison's "feel" for the game; he seems not to sense when certain plays can be effective against certain looks at certain points in a game.
  18. If you didn't jump off a cliff during the late sixties or during the Stephenson/Bullough years, you know damn well you aren't quitting now.
  19. NP was drafted because he possesses enough of the traits worth investing a later round pick in to see if he can be developed. He was picked to start the Chargers game by McD in an effort to light a fire under this team, including the defense. It didn't work. Time to move on. No need to analyze it any further. Our far bigger concern is why this team didn't respond after the Jest game and why they responded even worse after the Saints game.
  20. Thanks. I really appreciate the sentiment, but with all due respect, this place is a cesspool. That said, there are several posters here who have my respect and I’m always willing to be edified by their contributions. A learning spirit is essential around here.
  21. Nobody should have expected McD to announce any QB decision today. No matter how he feels or what choice he may have already made, he wasn't going to say anything publicly until after he's been in the QB room later today after they've had a chance to analyze the video. The first people to know are going to be his QBs in that classroom setting. I'm more curious about his meeting with that "leadership council" he mentioned and whether or not he's just paying lip service in that regard.
