  1. Bucky Brooks is perhaps the most qualified at what he does.
  2. Was a magazine at a doctor's office, perhaps 'Psychology Today' but not sure of the month/year. I'll do some digging and see what if I can find it somewhere.
  3. Neuroscience is making inroads in this area, especially in the predictive aspects of violent and other behaviors. Recently read an article about neuroscience and free will which was extremely interesting and provocative.
  4. Every few months? I wish it were that infrequent as according to The Gun Violence Archive, there have been 29 mass shootings in the US since the new year began. This is a uniquely American phenomenon. http://www.gunviolencearchive.org/mass-shooting?page=1
  5. No thanks.
  6. In order: QB LB DL WR OL
  7. No doubt. It's a good sign that they can find losing Jack as something to galvanize them and rally around. But we've been slowly turning the ship since the new year as players other than Eichel have started to come around. Hope they keep it up. Especially on the back end as they are beginning to look like they're figuring out what Housley wants. Much better decision making lately.
  8. Jack played the whole game vs. the Isles and was a star in that game. So, 2 out of 3 without Jack.
  9. Bills will have to move up in increments like the Eagles did to get Wentz if they want to entice the Giants, imo.
  10. I can see valid reasons to keep him. But I don’t confuse that with thinking he’s a very good QB; just the best we have at the moment.
  11. I’m a Tyrod Taylor fan as well as a Bills fan and yet, I don’t happen to think he’s a very good QB.
  12. Right, his body of work will determine his value for whatever team signs him and for whatever they choose to sign him for, he regardless how much or how little that value ends up being. He and his agent were given permission to “go to the market” last year before they decided to take the Bills’ new deal. That spoke volumes at the time. I’m interested to see how much league perception has shifted since.
  13. Depends on the lineman.
  14. So benching Taylor for a half is what lowers his trade value? Rosenthal hasn't been paying attention. Also, aTT and his agent were given the freedom to seek other options last off season befor they signed that new deal with the Bills. The only factor in determining his value is the complete body of work TT has established.
  15. Agree completely. It’s why Steve Grogan of the Pats*** had to change his name to Steve in the first place back in the day.
  16. If there were a way to qualify that bet, I’d take you up on it in a heartbeat. He may LOOK for the same things scouts do, but I will never be convinced he SEES the same things scouts do simply because he doesn’t have the time to see it on the same level. His career as a color analyst, sideline reporter, play by play guy, etc. during the season simply doesn’t allow for the in depth person evaluations required to validate what is seen on video. Video is just the tip of the iceberg in the process. Look, I like Mayock; think he’s the best at what he does for what his job entails. And real estate transactions. Gotta follow the land deals or get left out. I now own most of the Route 36 corridor through Mt. Morris as a result.
  17. Ffs, unworthy? I didn’t come anywhere close to saying that about Mayock. Like I said, I like him for what he brings as a media figure. But I take his insights with a grain of salt. He is not a scout and he doesn’t possess the same wealth of knowledge and insight as the scouting community. Video is a wonderful tool, but it is simply not the same as seeing players in person, interviewing them and their coaches, etc. His career as a TV color analyst in the booth certainly doesn’t afford him the thousands of man hours required to bring that kind of expertise to bear, either. That’s not a knock on him, just the reality of the matter. I don’t know how many hours the various talking head pundits put in and I’m sure they work hard at what they do. But I am familiar with the work of several league scouts and other personnel evaluators over the years and I doubt it comes close to that both in terms of video analysis and in person evaluations.
  18. It’s not about how far a QB can throw a football.
  19. True, he’s been known to shill from time to time. Was it Gabbert he shared the same agent with?
  20. Posted in the Mayock/WGR thread, but it bears reposting here: I like Mayock for what he brings in his role as a media analyst, but that’s as far as it goes. He is not a scout and doesn’t possess a fraction of the insight on all these players as scouts and other personnel evaluators do. It’s just not his full time gig. I take everything he says with a grain of salt. From Sanchez over Stafford to Gabbert over Newton and the many players at positions in between over the years, his “evaluations” leave a lot to be desired.
  21. Yeah, that’s a big reason to hate Rudolph. I question the entire validity of the article. Too many “he’s good, but...” takes, none of which sound like actual scouting lingo. And teams just don’t share info on prospects at this time of year when boards are in the earliest phases of construction.
  22. Chris Cooley, former TE of the Deadskins, once deposited his $6m plus bonus check at his local bank drive through teller window. Always thought that was funny especially in the age of direct deposit.
  23. I like Mayock for what he brings in his role as a media analyst, but that’s as far as it goes. 24. Lot to like about Rudolph there, too.
