    I understand the point about class and it’s a good one. But several players are going through the motions and look disinterested, too. It’s a challenge for coaches to coach with big leads or when behind by big deficits. And I’ve never liked the concept of being able to turn it on when you want to, either. As competitors, it always has to be on.

    Yeah and that is concerning. Ahead or behind, players that are disinterested is never a good thing.

    He was with the Bills from their inception through the late 70s in a variety of roles, including being named GM in '67. Him and coach Harvey Johnson oversaw a cluster-F of football along the way and established a record of ineptitude unsurpassed since. And that's saying something when you consider the sheer amount of ineptitude by OTHER football administrations over the years.

    I agree with your premise that it’s too soon to say who is or who isn’t involved and I found it ironic that the principals involved have no problem saying who is and who isn’t. Just a general comment on the court of public opinion and the campaigns waged by both sides to influence that. I guess I wasn’t clear enough. Sorry for any confusion.

    Well then, it’s obvious McCown failed him last year as well. Mayfied’s debut reminded me of Marino’s in terms of his command; very impressive. Good time to be a Browns fan. I like Allen, too.

    So when is it ok to question the mentor? I mean Darnold really struggled last night. Where was McCown? I put a lot of it on him for not mentoring well enough.

    Terry Pegula failed to provide Brandon Beane a mentor. Just thought id start at the top and work down.

    Lot to be excited about in Cleveland for sure, but c'mon, lets not get too far ahead of our skis here. Mayfield is going to have some bad plays, series, games at times. It happens to all of them.
