He never looked like the real deal in the same way that Allen looks like the real deal. From physical stature to command and poise in the pocket, Allen looks much better. And I thought Edwards showed some promise early on.
The one downside to today's win and the way we did it is that now Green Bay will actually study the tape and take us seriously during practice this week. Not gonna sneak up on people.
I have one nitpick and it’s not about the play calling. It’s about clock management. He needs to be in Allen’s ear about taking maximum time off the clock when it suits our purpose. Saw precious little of that in the third quarter. Was much better in the fourth, but we gave the Vikings three minutes of extra time in the third by not milking the clock. Coaches like Belichick manage the clock with leads as early as the first quarter just for comparison sake.
That said, great job of play calling. Too bad Josh was hurt by some key drops, too.
I’m also giving one to the punter. 43 yard average, great hang time, with 5 out of 6 inside the twenty with a couple that really pinned them back. Very nice. Schmidt would have put most of them in the end zone.
I was gonna put in parenthesis, "other than Peterman", but it seemed so cruel. But I thought, "What if Nathan's mom reads this forum?" You, on the other hand, are a cold blooded poster that takes no prisoners.
What was his wonderlic?
But smart of not, he's only as good as the people he has running and playing in his organization.
Still, it makes me wonder what kind of owner Einstein would have been. I'm thinking meddler. Like, to an atomic degree.
I understand the point about class and it’s a good one. But several players are going through the motions and look disinterested, too. It’s a challenge for coaches to coach with big leads or when behind by big deficits. And I’ve never liked the concept of being able to turn it on when you want to, either. As competitors, it always has to be on.
