  1. Browns need to fire their grounds crew. No reason that field should look like that.
  2. Are you discounting the entire year+ they've had in their respective professional programs? It's too bad Allen doesn't have more than a year of learning under the helm of Andy Reid at this point. Mahommes may not have played last season, but he was learning to be a pro QB none the less.
  3. The hard work on the roster couldn't be accomplished this year. One look at the QB situation and the surrounding offensive personnel should have clued everyone in on where this season was going. The big surprise is the defensive performance so far. We all expected more in that department.
  4. There will be pockets of informed, intelligent discussion among those who understood what this season was going to be all along. Come and find us.
  5. An impossibility this year. McBeane are playing the long game. In the meantime, Allen is a big man, with athletic chops and a good head on his shoulders, so he can handle some wolves while he gets vital reps to jump start his development.
  6. Outstanding summary. Thanks.
  7. I agree TT can hold the fort. The issue is, if holding the fort is his ceiling, where does he get you, ultimately? Don’t get me wrong, I have a ton of respect for him as a person and I am grateful for what he accomplished here, but “fort holder” is the minimum standard for a starter.
  8. How would we know if it’s affecting him or not? What, it’s gonna be noticeable that he’s not going all out?
  9. "Earned" is a generous way of putting it. And if the NFL delineated to that fractional degree, I'd only give him that 1/32nd share.
  10. Putting in the work off the field to protect Allen? Does that mean they form a moving pocket around him everywhere he goes? I can just see that coming at me in Aisle 2 at Tops.
  11. Damn, I gotta read that article again. I totally misread the numbers, apparently. I agree that the incentive may seem odd on the surface, but this was a player in decline and coming off surgery for an injury. He didn't garner a lot of interest around the league, either, as a FA. I seriously doubt the Bills would deliberately sit anyone just to save $750k, though. They had legitimate reasons to keep him out of game one. Chief among them was his dismal preseason performance. Thanks. I shouldn't read articles in a hurry. That prorated 1/16th share sounds reasonable.
  12. I can certainly see that in terms of situational rotations, but he would need to beef up to withstand the snap to snap rigors of that inside position. Considering he doesn't move very well at his current weight, I'd be concerned. But inside on passing downs? I think that's a good idea.
  13. I just read the article and it's correct in terms of earned bonus; he is not entitled to that for game one, which amounts to $375k if I read the article correctly. I was strictly looking at his salary and he was eligible for equal 1/16th shares for each of the first two games, regardless of being on the active roster or not.
  14. Not a money saving move. Players on the 53 man roster get paid their salary, regardless if they're active or not on game day. So Davis made his 1/16 salary for game one and, even though it could be argued he doesn't deserve it, he also earned his 1/16 for game two.
  15. This being his third year, like most draft picks, if he hasn’t shown it yet, he’s probably never going to at this point. He strikes me as a placeholder, nothing more. McDermott needs pressure from four rushers and Lawson can’t bring that element.
  16. I’ve never blindly supported the Bills. I just know that it isn’t a job requirement for a coach to have played the position he’s coaching. In fact, it’s been my experience that sometimes ex-players can make the worst coaches. The rest of your post doesn’t merit consideration. Shouldn’t you be checking posts for grammatical and usage errors? It’s such a vital service to the community, after all. Really adds to the discourse. Nah. Can’t be.
  17. Frying pan into ...another frying pan.
  18. Thanks, but I think it may be a bit nuanced for this crowd.
  19. Does Brady compare Belichick’s penis to a Mario Kart character in this book?
  20. Well, it ain't exactly the solution, either.
  21. Wow, Risto looking like he's tired of all the Dahlin talk out there. "Ya. You come to see the Swede, but you leave talking about the Finn." Seriously though, if Housley can spread the minutes out a bit this year and Risto isn't having to play 25 a night, this may be his year. And he's only 23. We tend to forget that because he's been here so long.
  22. Talk about nonstop self-flagellation.
