Again, I don’t disagree. But it’s a two possession game with a half to play, KC’s poor run defense notwithstanding. That said, it looked like Mahomes was pressing things on that INT, for sure. Not what we’ve seen the first six games from him.

I don’t disagree. I just see that as KC being forced to change tactics due to the game situation, not as Mahomes pressing. Reid will have to force the issue more and if Mahomes panics, then I’d say he’s pressing. It’s early yet, though, lot of football to be played.

That’s a possibility, sure. But he doesn’t strike me as the pressing type so far.

It’s the reverse image of our situation in Buffalo. Mahomes is going to settle down and hit guys that have been wide open.

And the one they did flag him for was a bad call. Houston thought nobody could cover him one on one, especially Watson, who time and time again tried to find him, took too long in doing so, and paid the price. Understandable, given Hopkins' crazy skill set. But Tre opened their eyes today.

Oh, absolutely. He's fantastic. While most of my posts have been tongue in cheek, I thought LA would struggle a little more in the Denver air and elements; it can be a hard place to play. Hats off to LA.

White shouldn't reduce himself to Rohack's level. Anybody who watched that game who knows a damned thing, knows that he contained Hopkins pretty much all day and that's no easy task. More importantly, the players know it. Hopkins is going to the HOF and has been playing lights out. Hats of to Tre and the D for their performance.

In that case, they should take him out now before he does something worse than pull his hammy!

DCs make AJ their game plan and that opens it up for the other receivers. With Johnson out, defenses have clamped down on Osborne and nobody else gets open with regularity it seems.

This pisses me off. If Slowposo sensed they lacked focus and were sloppy in practice, he should have said something then and there, ON WEDNESDAY. By contrast, Drury would have told every nonplayer to get out of the locker room and then proceed to rip everyone a new one. ZERO TOLERANCE is the only remedy but it seems we have “leaders” who don’t understand what leadership means. Slowposo does not deserve the A on his jersey if he can’t step up and say something when he sees something wrong. And to to make matters worse, Housley doesn’t seem to agree with Slowposo that practice was bad. Does he have the pulse of this team? I gotta wonder.

They were tank years bad. 0 for 7 on the pp. And it’s clear that for all the faster players we’ve added, we are no where near the Colorados of the league in terms of overall team speed. I’m always on Housley watch. Let’s see where they are on 10/31. Tough five game road trip coming up after serving up a stinker at home. Depending on how they respond, Housley’s career may be riding on the next nine days.

I take those analytics with a grain of salt as evidenced by the disclaimer at the end. If Housley is seeing something in Elie’s play that is not apparent to me, fine, I fully understand. But other than taking faceoffs in the D zone, Larsson offers absolutely nothing superior, imo; especially speed. That said, Housley is the coach and (presumably) knows far better than anyone in these parts, that’s for sure.

Haven’t been paying attention to any of the hype, but I’m curious as to how many times Belichick’s genius vs. rookie QBs has been mentioned by the talking heads. Never mind that Mahomes isn’t a rookie. Anyway, I don’t see how either defense stops the other’s offense in this one. But I think KC’s offense poses more problems for NE***. Bellyache can’t take away one single facet of KC’s personnel and dare you to beat him with somebody else because all of KC’s offensive skill players can hurt you. I just don’t think NE*** can say the same.

Not that I’m going to defend Housley, but: Maybe Housley wants to move Mitts to the wing and have Larsson center that line? That would lessen Mitts’s responsibilities but wouldn’t do anything to help him develop his 200 foot game as a center. And while he hasn’t been lighting it up (yet), Mitts’s two-way game is improving and he hasn’t hurt us, either. Or maybe Housley and Botts need to see what they have in Larsson playing with this new team while the season is still young? Showcase him for a possible trade? The move flies in the face of the conventional hockey wisdom that says you don’t mess with a good thing while it’s working. Did Elie do anything glaringly wrong when he was in the lineup?

Can’t see it this week, not against the Texans defense. Gonna be a hard slog, I suspect. Then again, I thought the same going into Minny. Hoping Daboll can scheme up some kind of passing offense to keep us out of bad down/distance situations because I don’t think we can rely on the run game to do that against Watt, Clooney and Co.

So, Larsson on the wing with Mitts and Tage tonight? Other than being another faceoff man, he brings NOTHING but diminished speed and absolutely NO offensive skill to the game lineup. Housley just can’t help himself. Prove me wrong, Phil.
