  1. Tyrod Taylor: QB mentor extraordinaire. Do not undervalue the QB mentor. The mere threat of Taylor leaving might be enough to send Baker Mayfield into uncontrollable fits of despair. If anyone wants to make a deal for Taylor, they will have to pay the Mayfield comfort price.
  2. Que the "where the hell is Frazier and his position coach" outrage over having a HC do this sort of thing.
  3. A late day three prospect? Late day three would suggest a 6th or 7th round pick. These idiots are even more removed from reality than I thought.
  4. No need to research it, I'll take it as fact that there were others I'm not familiar with. But I do know that in addition to our own, the scouting departments for the LA Chargers, Jaguars, and Falcons had 1st round grades on him. It's rare that there would be such drastic differences among the scouting community and I doubt any team had a 3rd round evaluation of him. These draftnik "pundits" just aren't privy to the body of information that scouts begin compiling, in earnest, from August through draft day; instead they rely on video reviews with little context to support what they are seeing.
  5. So much for my predictive abilities. I thought Asplund was gonna make the big squad coming out of camp.
  6. Football speed vs. track speed. Barr's 40 time was a second faster than Allen's but I couldn't tell that from watching that play or the horse collar play.
  7. This is an interesting contradiction to the preceding Ben Fennell post. So, should we be terrified that we have no chance against the Packers' pressure packages or comforted by the fact that the Packers can't generate pressure.
  8. Taking nothing away from Rudolph, but Big Ben is one helluva tough act to follow to say the least. Like the old saying goes, sometimes it's better to be the guy who replaces the guy who replaced the legend.
  9. I was there! Press box gopher transfixed by Joe Willie's white shoes and Janik's 100 yard INT return.
  10. Nothing like helping out your rookie QB.
  11. 10 OLmen? I only count one.
  12. I thought he looked strong when he dragged Ingram for several yards on his back and was still able to get a throw off (albeit ill-advised) with the LB draped all over him and that horse collar by Barr showed it again. The kid is Big Ben with mobility and running ability. Very impressive. Lonely day for Barr in that film room.
  13. What's throwing you off? Is it the adjective "very" preceding the word "credibility?" With or without that modifier, it works grammatically.
  14. Sorry, I don't employ an editor to proof read my posts. Perhaps you could ask another member? There is no shortage of those willing to serve as grammar police.
  15. Well, he has an entrenched position. AFAIK, he is the only “pundit” who gave Allen a 3rd round grade. His very credibility as a talent evaluator is on the line every time Allen shows promise and contradicts that position.
  16. This guy is a class A asshat. After two and a half games of experience, Allen is still looking for consistency? Genius, in-depth insight and analysis there. I’m interested to see his “grades” for the other QBs in the clsss.
  17. Good point. On the bright side, Zimmerman is also a defensive guru and author of exotic packages and Allen handled it very well. The kid is gonna see a regular dose of these defenses as he progresses. Hopefully, he’ll become good enough to take what he wants against them but for now, he needs to take what they continue to give when defenses don’t play him honestly. Daboll and Culley are key to that, too.
  18. Go with the hotter hand and that’s Lewis.
