  1. Nothing against you or your post personally, but I’ve never liked the term “letting them walk” when it comes to UFAs. Once they played out their contracts, the players were in total control of their futures. We simply weren’t in a position to “let” them do anything. Or not.
  2. Hard to beat ‘It’s a Winderful Life’ but Love Actually is up there.
  3. To look at other players in an expanded role. He’s no longer taking up valuable practice reps.
  4. Video never lies and what KB put on display for personnel execs to look at might result in nothing more than a 1 year “prove it” deal for league minimum. It effort was disgraceful while also illustrating he has little understanding of the importance of each individual route to the passing scheme. Good riddance.
  5. I hope Babcock’s prediction comes true; that soon Buffalo fans will once again be buying all those tickets before Leafs fans can get their hands on them. Losing out on Babcock really hurt us. Best coach in the game. Housley should take notes.
  6. Let’s not get ahead of our skis here. He’s off to a promising start but so much of his success depends on coaching and the players they surround him with. If Daboll or someone else can become his Marchibroda, they get RBs and WRs like TT and Andre, respectively, and an OLine with four Pro Bowlers like Kelly enjoyed then yeah, Josh might own all those records eventually.
  7. He's got all the abilities except one: availability.
  8. Two words: arm. talent. Can't believe the ball speed he generated here. Love the contrast between this throw and the touch throw to DiMarco later on.
  9. McDermott mentioned that Allen's injury allowed him the time to spend more time with Allen where they discussed why defenses scheme certain ways vs. certain personnel groups in certain game situations. And it seems like Allen has a better handle on that aspect of the game since his return. Especially vs. Jax. That defense is damned good and presents challenges to the best of them and Allen did a fine job. Now having two weeks to prepare was an advantage, but still, it wasn't too big for him as he looked in command the entire afternoon.
  10. In the meantime, I wonder why Housley doesn't have Jack playing a few 3rd or 4th line shifts in a game to give those wingers a spark now and then. Coaches have been doing that forever with the latest being Hitchcock giving McDavid shifts on the bottom six to generate some offense from those lines.
  11. Wait, what? I haven’t read most of the thread, but did someone actually refer to a Hail Mary int as “horrendous?” Gotta be one of the dumbest takes in TBD history.
  12. Great thread title. "Zeus Douche" Has a ring to it.
  13. Just out of curiosity, what bowl did N. Illinois end up getting invited to?
  14. Especially the red beans and rice.
  15. RIP, 41. You truly walked the walk in every sense of the phrase.
  16. Not only do I remember, I'm still miffed he didn't garner any Oscar buzz for his depiction of Fezzik in 'The Princess Bride.' To capture the nuance of such a complex character in such subtle tones was masterful.
  17. Isn't he Jack Nicklaus's grandson?
  18. How can someone 6'5" and upwards of 240 lbs be a mini anyone?
  19. Boatdrinks did a fine job explaining why Jerry Bergman was the most hated ref in history by Bills fans. We had clearly taken over that game after being down at the half and Bergman single-handedly snuffed out whatever momentum we had. Wade Phillips dialed up a masterful game plan that day; one of the best ever, imo. What he did with Mecklenberg at MLB and Atwater and Smith at the safety spots was ingenious. The only way I can describe it is that it was the football equivalent of the triangle and 2 defense. Those three players choked the Bills all day long and Marchibroda, Kelly, and the offense were clueless as to how to solve it.
  20. Biggest difference between LVE and Edmunds is hesitancy, imo. Given the level of responsibility for making the D calls, it’s understandable in such a young player; I think TE is afraid to mess up. Whereas LVE plays with more of a fearless abandon. But those times when TE gets after it, he’s shown why he was taken where he was.
  21. Given the sheer amount of time we’re in nickel, we can consider it a starting position. It’s our base defense for all intents and purposes. Regarding Taron Johnson, even if he can play on the boundary, that’s not where you want him, imo. Given his nose for the ball and ability to force things vs. the run, he needs to be closer to the ball at the snap.
  22. Nope. Everyone is a prospect until they’re not.
