I don’t know. I’ve read in this very thread that Kyle is retiring because he didn’t want another year of playing for such a lousy coach who can’t outsmart Belichick. That said, I agree with you entirely.

Shots attempted is a direct reflection of what team controlled the puck the most in the other team’s offensive zone. Boston, even without two key players who can drive that stat, dominated that key statistic. Other than the second period, which we controlled, Boston possessed the puck more, spent more time in the O zone, and had more chances. Boston was far better in the first and third period. Just because we had a few chances when we managed to tilt the ice a few times, doesn’t mean we played as well as them. We were a good team for one period, no more.

Aside from the second period, which we pretty much dominated, Boston was the better team. There isn’t one analytical indicator to suggest otherwise. Boston had a 75-50 shot attempt advantage, and that was without Marchand and MacAvoy, two of their betters drivers of that stat. That said, we had numerous chances to win this game. We aren’t good enough yet. Simple as that.

We have one line and nine other bottom six wingers. And we are being exposed as the posers we were during a hot November. Gonna be a bumpy ride to the playoffs and to be honest, I don’t think we will hold on as the grind for these young, developing players starts to take its toll. Dahlin and Mittelstadt, particularly, look like they’ve hit the proverbial rookie wall already. I’m perfectly willing to accept Botteril’s decision to develop guys at the NHL level rather than send anyone down as well as keeping a Rochester team together. But I’m no longer under the delusion that we will get anything meaningful from Pommers, Sheary, Okposo, etc., as we just wait for them to turn their games around. Sure, they’ll chip in with a goal or two here and there and we will be tempted to buy in to the hope, but this far into the season has firmly established that they can’t be consistent contributors. They are out there skating around with little purpose or result. Hope Girgs gets back ASAP as he is a key defensive contributor. And Wilson is a better option than Elie, but the cupboard is mostly bare, regardless.

All things being equal, you have to select Williams as, behind having your QB and a pass rusher to get after the opposing QBs, having a great OT to protect your QB is next in terms of building blocks.

I said the Dolphin QB named Tanny Plays worse than my long deceased granny “That’s just not the case!” Proclaimed headcoach Adam Gase “ Then again, my head’s up my fanny.”
-
The hero ball QB does this because he has absolute faith that his skills are always superior. That’s the definition of hero ball and it can be a hard lesson to learn at the pro level because typically these QBs were always better than their competition. Not so much in the NFL.

Beyond Blue and Red: Josh Allen - Full Episode Posted

I’m suddenly a bowl of jello. So proud of that little boy and his indomitable spirit. Proud of Allen and the entire Bills organization for the love they showed Super Cade and his family. If Josh Allen never completes another pass in his life, it won’t ever diminish his stature in my eyes. There is just something about his demeanor that I’ve found to be genuine since he burst onto our scene and this feature production truly underscores that. He’s the real deal and we’re lucky to have him. -

I don’t know why, but this made me chuckle. -

Mic'd Up: Josh Allen vs. the Lions

My point is that no matter how much smack a player talks, nothing speaks louder than your play. Smack talk, one way or another, doesn't require any validation. Anyone with a big mouth can talk smack and one doesn't have to do anything to earn the right to do it as you say. -

Perhaps what Gugny meant to say was it helps to have a body of successful work behind you before anything you say on the field really matters. On another note, I'm VERY concerned that he doesn't know what to do with his hands. -
Joe D does not share your high opinion of Drew Brees. Called him a POS during the last CBA negotiations because of Brees’s stance on benefits for retired players.

I don’t hold the fact he likes to have a good time against him. My issue is the gutless hit with his titanium arm on a prone and totally defenseless Tre White. Previous to that, I had total respect for him as a player. But ANY respect I had for him, as a player or a man, was gone in that instant. Never realized what a gutless coward he is before then.

Jason Wittless just said that one of the things Cam Newton does best is run after the catch. Dumb as a stump.

My deepest sympathies to the fine hockey fans of Rochester. Reminds me of my favorite Girgensens story. When he played for his world junior team, they were behind 14-3 halfway through the third period in a game. Zemgus Girgensons was STILL blocking shots and playing like the score was tied. What he has cannot be coached. Also, it was great to see Eichel skate over to him after scoring the empty netter.

Passer Rating vs. Total QBR (Matt vs. Josh)
K-9 replied to JESSEFEFFER's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Someone needs to explain to me how two QBs with nearly identical stat lines can have such disparate QBR ratings. Is it because one took a single sack? Is it because of one inconsequential fumble? Is it because one had a better completion percentage in the first half but didn’t do squat with his final seven possessions? Why isn’t there a consideration for the QB who led his team to a win in the 4th quarter while the other couldn’t?
