  1. Pro wrestling is theater. Pro football is drama. There’s a difference.
  2. I forgot about Nelson. Hmm, I wonder why. Must be that queasy feeling is contagious. We need to get better at the blue line, regardless.
  3. Yeah. Remember this a-hole? Pat Toomay sure does.
  4. Connect all the dots Prosperity lies eastward Look for Webb's package
  5. Thursday night football is a lousy product. I’d be interested to see how road teams have fared overall since it started. I suspect it’s really bad if not downright embarrassing.
  6. Eesh! Don’t get me wrong as I’m eagerly looking forward to Pilut’s debut, but when Bogo is your only D man that remotely qualifies as a “stay at home” type, color me concerned. There will be riots if Tennyson plays before Pilut.
  7. Who knows with the NHL indeed. General rule of thumb seems to be that if a league ruling benefits the Leafs and their old buddy Brendan Shanahan, the ruling is made. I look for Eichel to get 20 games as a result.
  8. I’ve read numerous posts saying that no defense will be able to stop the Rams, Chiefs, and Saints; that defense is passé. Defensive football says, “hello, and hold my beer.”
  9. I think this will definitely happen and I won’t be surprised to see an offer north of $14m for Matthews. I wonder how many times he’s heard Shanahan’s “guys will have to take a discount in exchange for winning championships in Toronto” speech.
  10. All this time and emotion invested in things we don't have is absurd.
  11. Nice of the refs to let Thornton get away with mugging Skinner.
  12. Larry Pilut is knocking on the door as we speak. Good point about Scandella’s room presence. That’s not a small thing and I can respect him for that. But he’s really struggling. To the point of being a liability. Maybe a couple games up in the box observing will help him find his game again.
  13. I might be coming around on Reinhart. Would love a tasty plate of crow at the end of the year. But Scandella is a hopeless cause.
  14. If I had to guess, it’s because the goalie made a play in the puck?
  15. Yeah, I’ll miss Sheary’s speed and grit. Next guy up as the saying goes. Perhaps Pilut is up because Scandella sucks a$$?
  16. Well, if he’s getting a solid recommendation from ex-teammates currently playing for the ‘Skins, the allegations must be total bunk. Who better to perform due diligence on a player’s character?
  17. GREAT point here. And it’s why DT and others like him can’t stick on a team for very long it seems. The world is littered with athletic specimens of WRs who have little concept of the pass game design; of why certain route combinations are run at certain times against certain D personnel, of why it’s important to complete your routes whether you’re the primary or not, of the huge importance of recognizing your hot reads. In short, if you don’t get the WHY of it all, you have little chance to stick in this league, regardless of the occasional amazing big play.
  18. I’d say most of their futures are in front of them.
  19. Gotta have the tiger on a leash? What a wimp.
  20. Now that you mention it, yeah, I recall those threads now. He’s a terrific QB and he should let his play do the talking. But if he has to derive validation from social media comments, he’s in for a world of criticism. I don’t know about a QB who’s so easily trolled.
  21. Didn’t realize he was so insecure. Not a desirable trait in a QB, imo. It will be interesting to see how he reacts to a real controversy in the future.
  22. Tough first half indeed in giving up 173 rushing yards and Edmunds certainly had his share of poor plays. But it was a total team effort in suckitude. For instance, on Westbrook’s 43 yard end around scamper, we lost outside contain by multiple players. Hard to fault Star and Tremaine for that. But as bad as we were in the first half, we were that much better in the second in holding them to 53 yards on the ground. Great adjustments by the coaches. People will say it was losing Fournette, but I don’t buy it as he didn’t do much in the entire third quarter when it was apparent from their opening drive that the D line was playing more gap control vs. shooting the gaps and letting Olinemen take them where they wanted to go.
  23. Absolutely. Total Ahole.
