Yes- and you know who else has had bad coaching moments in the playoffs? Sean McDermott- and it’s reason we are talking about this. just so happens McD has proven to be able to beat Reid and Mahomes on a regular basis. While the guy you’re opining for has a .000 winning percentage against them. The reason he has 2 Super Bowl appearances under his belt is because he doesn’t have to face Mahomes in the conference playoffs. Your only defense is “but the QB”. Yes, McDermott has helped develop a super talented raw prospect into the best player in the league. Shanny had a chance to develop a similar prospect and he’s now a bum. Who knows what would’ve happened if he had Allen. Would he have failed in developing him like he did with Lance? We don’t know- McDermott developed Allen- and succeeded. The only ammo you are bringing to this gunfight is “but shanny doesn’t have Josh Allen”. You’re right, he doesn’t. And we’ll never know what he can do with him. But we can pretend ….and that will tell us who’s right…… and if you don’t pretend- then you’re a hostile coward 🤣 the offensive guru that doesn’t have the offensive horse he needs to win it all vs the defensive guru that doesn’t have the horse he needs to win it all. McD is a defensive HC that has put the majority of his resources into the D. Those defenses have been ravaged with injuries the last 2 seasons (3 if you include not having our best player, cornerback, in the 13 sec debacle). We can pretend to know how good McDs defenses would’ve been with bosa, armstead, Hargrave, warner and co. We know he can make lemonade out of lemon DBs. but none of that matters….. it’s fantasy land. What we KNOW is McDermott HAS actually had much better success vs reid and Mahomes than shanny. In fact, he’s the only one of the two to have ANY success vs Reid and Mahomes. But Josh Allen….. which brings us back to fantasy land. enjoy

I don’t think the FA class was that bad tbh- Curtis Samuel- 3 year- 24M- certainly has t lived up to his contract and has been a disappointment. He looked like a different player vs KC- so I have hopes that his toe injury was the major factor in his lack of production the first 2/3 of the season. He can still live up to that contract. Daquan Jones - 2 years -16M. Hasn’t lived up to the contract- but still has a chance to reap some dividends. He’s been very good in the past- there’s hope imo. Hollins- 1 year- 2.6M GREAT value imo - great role player- incredible blocker in the run and pass game - great at running rub routes- has been a nice complimentary target and has a handful of crucial catches/TDs/first downs. Rapp- 3 year - 10.6M. he’s been very good imo- seemed like an overpay initially- seems like solid value now. Smoot- 1 year - 2.5M - had been a very solid addition- until injury. David Edward’s- 2 year 6M- looks like great value. Austin Johnson- 1 year 3.5M- overpay- but he’s made a couple splash plays. Cam Lewis - 2 years 4M- everyone hates on him- but he’s worth that contract imo. Nicholas morrow- 1 year 1.1M- meh- w/e Mike Edward- 1 year -2.8M. (1.6 gtd) complete failure - claypool- 25k gtd- fail but at 25K, was worth the roll of the dice.

Yes I agree 💯 with this rationale. in this case- I don’t think firechan is fully representative of this. He believes in the Bills. I think he just likes to try to “win” every back and forth he’s engages in. He was backing McD all offseason and I think he believes in him (but I could be wrong). I feel he’s more anti- Beane than McD. in this particular case- he chose Shanny over mcd- and is fighting tooth and nail to “win”. Resorting to the land of make believe and hypothetical opinions in order to do so. And in this particular case, we can only go by what has actually happened. And McD/Beane has the highest winning % vs Reid and Mahomes (iirc) currently in the league. While Shanny is O’fer life and has choked in bad ways. blame it on not having a QB——but that’s all the more of an indictment of they the COMBO of shanny/lynch is less likely to take them down then our current regime. They have failed in landing a QB that can overcome their own deficiencies at take down the top dogs- whereas mcd/beane have drafted a raw QB many thought had little chance to become great- and have developed him so much that he’s now the best player in the league. Some think that’s all on Josh- some think that a QB needs the proper support and coaching in order to get there. I’m a believer that a QBs support system is a big part of that (but definitely not all). the reality is- shabby has choked more than mcd in the playoffs. 13 seconds is a debacle. 28-3 in the Super Bowl is much worse. The Bills were 2 full games away from a Lombardi. The falcons were a half away from from winning a Lombardi and shanahans decision making in that entire half is the reason they lose. Mcd royally screwed up a 13 second instance. Not an entire half. Then Shannys poor decision making in both of his Super Bowl appearances led to his team losing both the Reid/mahomes. yet he thinks my opinion of a make believe scenario would somehow have any relevance. While my opinion is “maybe- maybe not”- similar to how I feel most people think about this strange question.

The bills are +475 to win the Super Bowl. Vegas gives us around a 20% chance to win it all. Way to go out on a limb with that prediction. A fringe WC team. lol. Mcd was that with a no talent team that had tyrod at the helm. The Niners are loaded with talent- maybe not a SB appearance team- but maybe. SF was a SB team because he hasn’t been in Mahomes’ conference. Flip the Bills into the NFC and Allen and Mahomes would’ve had at least a couple SB matchups. Put Shanny in the AFC and he has zero appearances. Indeed

Yes- Brock bowers- a much more highly regarded TE (seen as a top 10 or higher talent in most eyes) is better than Dalton Kincaid. I’ve never disputed that. Great comparison. Please find all the poor Brock Bowers/Dalton Kincaid comparisons I’ve made- more crickets. 🙄 here’s the difference between me and some others- I own being wrong all the time. I own being wrong before people call me out and laugh at some of my bad takes. Others disappear- crickets. Kincaid hasn’t impressed this season. Lots to do with being the TE thrown the most uncatchable passes in the nfl- lots to do with his drops. Lots to do with being under utilized. I believe he has the lowest ratio of contested catches amongst TE. That’s a good stat- as he’s always getting separation. He also has a good amount of drops.

Not even close shanny and lynch were able to make to Super bowls because they didn’t have to face Reid and Mahomes in the conference playoffs. If they would have- they would have zero SB appearances
