  1. Joe Biden Sets New Personal Best for Worst Foreign Policy Decision Ever DUANE PATTERSON We all remember the chaos we saw in the final week of August, 2021 - infants being tossed over razor wire, thousands of people crashing the perimeter of Hamid Karzai International Airport, trying to stop a moving C-17 cargo plane on the tarmac trying to evac the lottery winners that won a seat, and the falling body of someone so terrified of life in Afghanistan reverting to the control of the Taliban that he figured a better option was to hang onto the wheel well as the plane took off, only to black out once airspeed, lack of oxygen at altitude, air temperatures, and retracting landing gear conspired to plunge him to his death. It was without doubt the worst foreign policy debacle this country has gone through, and it was one that did not have to happen. We had a perfectly defensible air base at Bagram, Biden decided to move out the military before getting all the civilians out, did not care a whit about any allies or personnel of interest that assisted us in the Global War on Terror for 20 years, leaving them behind. It was truly disastrous. It was such a catastrophe that it seems unfathomable that Joe Biden could match that feat in such a short period of time in one presidency. But 50 years of adopting exactly the wrong approach on every foreign policy decision facing the United States has led to this moment of abandoning Israel just at the point when the final battle against Hamas begins. {snip} And when Joe Biden says Israel should completely eliminate Hamas, he of course would come to mean not eliminate Hamas at all, and instead, we'll make sure when there's literally nowhere else for Hamas to go, we'll withhold the very guidance systems on weapons that reduce collateral damage. It actually caught everyone off guard, because even though voices like Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Council spokesman John Kirby had floated that trial balloon a week ago, most observers believed the blowback to those two test threats was sufficient that Biden himself would never actually say it. https://hotair.com/generalissimo/2024/05/09/joe-biden-sets-new-personal-best-for-worst-foreign-policy-decision-ever-n3788069
  2. In the last few years the warnings about who's a "threat to democracy" have ramped up, even though that's not really a thing because the U.S. is a republic. It makes more sense when you realize that the Left and media's definition of "threat to democracy" translates to "threat to Democrat power." "Threat to democracy" has even become its own polling category, especially since the Democrats' new favorite national holiday: January 6th. But maybe that will eventually stop receiving so much focus if it backfires on the lib media enough. A recent poll of independent voters in the "threat to democracy" category was discussed on MSNBC and they were beside themselves with shock and dismay: https://twitchy.com/dougp/2024/05/09/this-is-hysterical-msnbc-panel-shocked-by-biden-vs-trump-threat-to-democracy-polling-n2396074 .
  3. Liz Cheney Bought the Ticket, Now She's Whining About Taking the Ride On Wednesday, Joe Biden made one of the most shameful pledges by a U.S. president in history, telling Israel that he would cut off congressional-appropriated arms shipments if Hamas' stronghold in Rafah is attacked. It was a disgusting move, abandoning a long-time ally in support of Islamic terrorists. It also wasn't the least bit surprising if you've paid any attention to who Biden is and what he's been throughout his career. Enter Liz Cheney, who put out a post whining about the president's decision. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news for Cheney, but she sowed the seeds of this and she's going to reap the consequences whether she likes it or not. Some of us tried to tell her that her simple-minded obsession was going to cause far more harm than good. We warned her that joining forces with Democrats would lead to disastrous results. She didn't want to hear it. Instead, she proclaimed anyone who didn't agree with her was against "democracy." Well, she's getting Biden's version of "democracy" good and hard right now, and her crying about it just comes off as pathetic. Did she think she could mold the Democratic Party in her image? The more I contemplate the question, the more I think the answer is yes. Cheney truly thought that she was going to be an influential national force who could extract her wants from Biden and his cohorts through her sheer force of will. Given she's all but irrelevant these days, we can safely say that plan didn't work out too well. Anyone with a brain could see that she was going to be cast aside the moment she was no longer beneficial to the left. https://redstate.com/bonchie/2024/05/09/liz-cheney-bought-the-ticket-now-shes-whining-about-having-to-take-the-ride-n2173958 .
  4. Standing Up Against the White House Plot to Shut Down Discussion of Lab Leak Theory, COVID Shot Effects A nearly 900-page report released last week by the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government details the Biden White House's dirty and unconstitutional plot to bully Big Tech companies into censoring conservative journalism and speech online, and the ways in which Big Tech sometimes voluntarily went even further than Biden's enforcers asked, to curry favor for their pet legislative issues. Big Tech companies called this censorship a change in their content "moderation policy." At RedState, we have hundreds and hundreds of stories that were — and still are — being targeted by these "moderation policy" changes. Last year, a federal judge said the situation "arguably involves the most massive attack against free speech in United States' history" and directed all federal agencies engaged in this censorship and unconstitutional policing to stop all contact with private social media platforms immediately. However, the damage of algorithm censorship — which categorizes topics like climate change, COVID-19, illegal immigration, crime, opposition to transgender ideology, and much more as "misinformation" or "dangerous and derogatory" — has already been done. 7. It's like some of the posters here, They just can't realize how their words sounds to others. Princeton anti-Israel hunger strikers: University ‘forced’ us to do this Seventeen Princeton students began a hunger strike last Friday until the university agreed to meet with them to discuss divestment from Israel and the dropping of charges against students who had occupied a campus building. According to The Daily Princetonian, student Sameer Riaz said he believed he and his comrades “were forced into” their hunger strike by school officials. Areeq Hasan, another hunger striker, said all those participating are “very well-supported” — unlike “political prisoners who are in Palestine.” David Chmielewski said the strikers’ demands were “not that intense” as activists only wanted a meeting (along with the dismissal of criminal/disciplinary charges against the aforementioned occupiers). He added if Princeton “want[s] to let us starve, then they’re welcome to do that.” https://www.thecollegefix.com/princeton-anti-israel-hunger-strikers-university-forced-us-to-do-this/ .
  8. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp Signs THREE Major Election Integrity Bills into Law Ahead of 2024 Presidential Election by Jim Hoft Governor Brian Kemp made a significant move on Tuesday by signing three pivotal pieces of legislation that aim to reshape Georgia’s election procedures in preparation for the 2024 presidential elections. The new legislation, House Bill 974, House Bill 1207, and Senate Bill 189, aims to enhance ballot security, voter eligibility verification, and auditing protocols in the battleground state. House Bill 974, amends election procedures in Georgia primarily concerning the security and auditing of ballots. Here are the key provisions of the bill: Ballot Security: It mandates that ballots used in optical scan voting systems and ballot marking devices be printed on paper with a visible watermark security feature. This watermark must identify the paper as an official Georgia ballot, ensuring the authenticity while maintaining voter anonymity. Scanning and Posting of Ballots: The bill requires that all absentee ballots be scanned to create a digital image with a resolution of at least 600 dots per inch. These scanned images are to be maintained in a statewide system, which the Secretary of State is tasked to establish and manage. Risk-Limiting Audits: It expands the types of contests subject to risk-limiting audits, which use statistical methods to ensure the accuracy of election outcomes. The law defines the parameters for these audits, including the maximum statistical probability that an incorrect outcome could go undetected. Pilot Program for Auditing Using Optical Character Recognition: A pilot program is to be created to audit paper ballots using optical character recognition technology. This audit will focus on verifying the human-readable text on ballots, excluding any machine-readable codes like QR codes. Public Transparency: The bill also includes provisions to enhance transparency, requiring that audit processes be conducted in public view and that details of the audits be made available to the public promptly. 9. The Democrat Party’s Antisemitism Went Mainstream With Barack Obama by Shawn Fleetwood For a man who has never been shy about sharing his sanctimonious opinions, former President Barack Obama has been noticeably quiet about anti-Israel anarchists’ takeover of U.S. college campuses. On Monday, Columbia University — Obama’s alma mater — announced it will not host its university-wide commencement ceremony for this year’s graduating class. That appears to be a response to the pro-Hamas demonstrations that have engulfed the school for weeks. The announcement came days after the university (finally) permitted law enforcement to arrest participants unlawfully occupying a school building. https://thefederalist.com/2024/05/07/the-democrat-partys-antisemitism-went-mainstream-with-barack-obama/ .
  10. REMINDER: Perhaps the weirdest, and by far the most unjust, thing about former President Donald Trump's trial in New York is that we do not know precisely what crime Trump is charged with committing. We're in the middle of the trial, with Trump facing a maximum of more than 100 years in prison, and we don't even know what the charges are! It's a surreal situation. Yes, we know that Trump is charged with falsifying business records of payments made to the porn actress Stormy Daniels in 2016 and 2017. But falsifying business records is a misdemeanor with a two-year statute of limitations, meaning prosecutors would be prohibited from charging Trump with that crime after 2019, which was five years ago. They obviously missed that deadline by a mile. We also know that New York law allows falsifying business records to be upgraded to a felony if the alleged falsification was done with "intent to defraud that includes an intent to commit another crime or to aid or conceal the commission thereof." In that case, the statute of limitations extends to five years, which would have allowed prosecutors to charge Trump as late as 2022. Prosecutors missed that deadline, too. Trump was indicted in 2023. How did that happen? Because of COVID-19, when New York extended its statute of limitations by a year. That allowed prosecutors to slip the charges in right before the new, one-time-only, six-year extended statute of limitations expired. But here's the thing. What was the "intent to commit another crime or aid and conceal the commission thereof" that prosecutors used to raise falsification of business records from a misdemeanor to a felony? In nearly every case of alleged falsification of records that has been charged as a felony in New York, the defendant was charged with another crime — that is, prosecutors made it clear what the other crime was. In Trump's case, the indictment did not specify any other crime. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said the law did not require him to specify the other crime. So Trump faced felony charges without knowing what he was accused of doing. And the really amazing thing is that the trial is now underway and Bragg has still not specified what the other crime is. It is a key element of the case. Without it, the charges against Trump could never have been brought because they were misdemeanors long past the statute of limitations. It is the other crime that makes this whole prosecution possible. But the prosecutor has not specified what it is. https://jewishworldreview.com/0524/york050824.php
  11. WaPo Gushes for Brittany Griner As She Plays Victim And Plays Her "Donald Trump" Card By Jim Thompson The Washington Post is a champion of the oppressed and marginalized – which is why it published a 5,000-word excerpt of a ghost-written book by a celebrated black lesbian athlete millionaire. Brittany Griner holds three intersection titles that make her virtually invulnerable to criticism by legacy media. She is one of America’s least oppressed and most privileged citizens, but that doesn't pay, so she plays her "I'm a victim" card. Griner resides in the rarefied air of celebrity and wealth and favored race, that cancels out her stupidity and hubris. In reality, she is an admitted convicted felon who was swapped for a Russian "Merchant of Death" in the worst prisoner exchanges in decades, maybe ever. Nonetheless, Griner manages to cast herself as the victim. {snip} Maybe Griner gets around to admitting that she tried to smuggle drugs into Russia and got caught. Maybe she admits that it was a terrible, very bad deal for America to swap her for the “Merchant of Death” arms dealer. Maybe. Maybe pigs will fly. https://redstate.com/jimthompson/2024/05/08/wapo-gushes-for-brittany-griner-as-she-plays-victims-and-plays-her-donald-trump-card-n2173928
