  1. SCOTUS Declines Case Challenging Obergefell -- Democrats Hardest Hit Ed Morrissey Nearly ever since the Supreme Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriage in Obergefell, Democrats have used the case to claim that Donald Trump would work to overturn it. Never mind that Trump has never suggested that he viewed same-sex marriage as an issue to oppose; never mind that Trump had served a full term without attempting to disturb the 2015 ruling. https://hotair.com/ed-morrissey/2025/11/10/scotus-declines-case-challenging-obergefell-dems-hardest-hit-n3808745
  2. Common sense returning. Olympic Committee Ready to Ban Trans Athletes From Competition John Sexton The International Olympic Committee appears poised to ban all trans women from the Olympics after a scientific review concluded male athletes retain advantages over women. The IOC’s guidance to Olympic sports has until now been that transgender women can compete with reduced testosterone levels but leaves it up to individual sports to decide. That is now set to change under its new president, Kirsty Coventry, who has promised to protect the female category. The committee’s medical and scientific director, Dr Jane Thornton, last week presented to IOC members at a meeting in Lausanne the initial findings of a science-based review into the issues of transgender athletes and athletes with differences of sexual development (DSD) competing in female sport. Sources said the presentation by Thornton, a Canadian former Olympic rower, stated that scientific evidence showed there were physical advantages to being born male that remained with athletes, including those who had taken treatment to reduce testosterone levels. “It was a very scientific, factual and unemotional presentation which quite clearly laid out the evidence,” one source said. Another IOC insider said there had been hugely positive feedback from IOC members about the presentation. If you're wondering why this report refers to trans athletes and also to DSD athletes (differences of sexual development) the answer is Imane Khelif. Khelif is not trans in the sense that Khelif never claimed to be a man who transitioned to female. Instead Khelif (allegedly) has male genes but was raised as a girl because of a DSD. https://hotair.com/john-s-2/2025/11/10/olympic-committee-ready-to-ban-trans-athletes-from-competition-n3808748

  5. Nancy Pelosi’s legacy is the socialist takeover of her party. Former House speaker retires after presiding over party's dramatic leftward shift since 2007 By David Marcus The year was 1987 and the Democrat speaker of the House of Representatives was a moderate Texan named Jim Wright, the Senate majority leader was West Virginia’s Robert Byrd, and socialism was a dirty word in the Party of Jefferson and Jackson. This was the year that San Francisco’s Nancy Pelosi would begin her career in Congress, and regarding both her and her Democrat Party, we can surely say, you’ve come a long way, baby. Former Speaker Pelosi announced this week that she would not be seeking a 900th (or whatever it is) term in the House, and at 85 years old, she leaves a Democrat Party that has all but fully embraced socialism. She is arguably the biggest reason why. Last month, amid growing pressure from the left, Pelosi’s hand-picked successor to hold the House gavel, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., endorsed a full-on socialist to be mayor of his hometown of New York City in what looked like a hostage video. Pelosi is praised to high heaven by both parties for her ability to rule her conference with an iron fist and brook no quarter to opposition, but in practice, this clearly alienated moderate Democrats. In the case of New Jersey Rep. Jeff Van Drew, he became a Republican. There is no indication that Pelosi is upset that hers is now the Democrat Socialist Party in all but name. We can imagine former GOP Speaker John Boehner ruefully deploring how the Tea Party and Trump captured his party over a cigarette and glass of red wine, but Pelosi seems pleased as punch. https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/david-marcus-nancy-pelosis-legacy-socialist-takeover-her-party .
  6. Schumer’s Shutdown Did Not Go Well for Him. “The Chuckster doesn’t play hardball as well as some of his predecessors in Senate leadership. Over on the House side of things, Hakeem Jefferies isn’t any sharper. The Democrats rushed into this shutdown driving a clown car with no brakes.” https://pjmedia.com/stephen-kruiser/2025/11/10/the-morning-briefing-schumers-shutdown-did-not-go-well-for-him-n4945810#google_vignette .
  7. The nation's largest trucking company says it will no longer service New York City after Mamdani takes office: "We've instructed our dispatchers to reject loads to any of the Five Burroughs," said Company Spokesman Joe Barron, "We don't see a way to continue doing business in the Big Apple.." The news comes as Mamdani released his plan to increase revenue across the city by quadrupling the cost of tolls, licensing, permits, and inspections of all commercial vehicles. "He's going to put a lot of the independent truckers out of business."
  8. The Democrat Party as we know it today would cease to exist if the following three measures were implemented: 1. Nation-wide voter ID with in-person, same-day voting except for true absentee situations. 2. End tax exempt status for ALL 501(c)(X)s (even religious, because if we leave that they will abuse it). 3. Continue Trump's enforcement of existing immigration laws until we have rolled back all damage done over the last ten years. Seriously, literally all we need to do is these three things, and America will be transformed back into the Constitutional Republic it was always intended to be.
  9. Good News From the Department of War The New York Times headlines: “Hegseth is purging military leaders and offering little explanation.” Subhed: “The moves to fire or sideline generals and admirals are without precedent in recent decades and have rattled the top brass.” I think the Times totally fails to understand that most of us will see this as good news. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has fired or sidelined at least two dozen generals and admirals over the past nine months in a series of ousters that could reshape the U.S. military for years to come. His actions, which are without precedent in recent decades, have come with little explanation. In many cases, they have run counter to the advice of top military leaders who fought alongside the officers in combat, senior military officials said. So “senior military officials,” no doubt fearing for their own jobs (or maybe being among those already let go) are leaking to the New York Times. What else is new? The Times hates soldiers, except for the ones that leak. Presumably what is going on here is that Secretary Hegseth is carrying out his mission of turning the U.S. military into a lean, war-winning machine. This means getting rid of the DEI nonsense that has dragged our armed forces down in recent years, and the generals and admirals who imposed it, probably to gain political promotion. It means getting rid of generals who achieved their rank, not through combat, but through political maneuvering. In short, it means that Secretary Hegseth is doing exactly what President Trump wants him to do, and what he pledged to do when he took over the Department of Defense War. https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2025/11/good-news-from-the-department-of-war.php

  12. New Deal Emerges to End the Schumer Shutdown, White House Signals Support By Joe Cunningham The Senate is moving toward a potential breakthrough to end the longest government shutdown in U.S. history, with at least 10 Democratic senators indicating they’ll support advancing a spending package during a rare Sunday session. According to Axios, multiple sources from both parties confirmed that enough Democrats are prepared to advance the legislation, marking the most significant movement toward ending the shutdown since it began Oct. 1. And according to CBS News, the Senate convened at 1:30 p.m. Sunday for the rare weekend session, though no votes were scheduled as of Sunday morning. The emerging deal would include full-year funding bills for three major areas: Veterans Affairs and military construction, Agriculture programs including food assistance, and legislative branch operations. All other government functions would receive funding through Jan. 30. {snip} What Could Still Go Wrong Even with enough Democratic votes to pass, the deal faces pushback. Some progressive Democrats don’t want to vote for any package without guaranteed health care subsidy extensions. They say a promise of a future vote means nothing if President Trump opposes the extension. However, a senior official with the White House has signaled that the president is on board with the current plan. For Democrats, however, there is still hesitation due largely to politics. “I think voters would rightly see it as a surrender,” Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal said before his party’s lunch meeting Thursday https://redstate.com/joesquire/2025/11/09/new-deal-emerges-to-end-the-schumer-shutdown-white-house-signals-support-n2196022
