  1. I'd rather have a big nickel on the field than Taron Johnson TBH as to me it restricts what our defense can do.
  2. We almost signed LaVante David a few years back who is older than Shaq is now. Assuming he doesn't expect a big deal am all for kicking the tires on somebody that can fill our void at big nickel.
  3. Until we see what free agents are added or removed it's hard to say what to do. I mean if we add a veteran Safety or CB and keep Hollins and Cooper or another vet with with speed and a vet or 2 depth D-Lineman than am okay getting a rookie with the 1st. Ideally I'd like us to land a rookie as be cheaper both in cap room and amount of picks needed to acquire etc. Toss in younger and have them for a longer time etc.
  4. The league wants to excitement of what a kick return can bring but the NFLPA doesn't want to put it's players in harms way of concussions etc.
  5. I suppose his higher floor is my appeal as I keep my expectations tempered with most free agent/draft picks as to many years expect great things and guys just don't live up to the hype and it's not worth building it anymore IMO.
  6. I like Slayton because he can play on the outside for sure and haz better size than these other guys.
  7. One name that has speed and gets good separation I haven't heard mentioned yet is Tutu Atwell. Granted he is a slot guy but could also be in mix as return man too. Obviously not a #2 but maybe a #5 WR if want to use higher picks else where.
  8. Rankins has a history with Nielsen in New Orleans. He might be good depth if move on from Jones and draft a rookie high.
  9. I'm assuming he's better than Elam/Lewis/Ingram as definitely bring him to be very least to be our 3rd CB. Likely not good enough to replace Douglas but we could use one of our 2nds for that.
  10. As he should but the market shows that he might be more inline to get $9-10 million per season. Granted that could change after this offseason.
  11. Darn I thought I'd win with 6 years come October lol.
  12. Darius Slayton or Dyami Brown could fill this roll, I prefer the first as a bit more proven and possibly more reliable. I'm sure most of us weren't wowed by Mack Hollins name last offseason either.
  13. 5 years of school will do that to you.
  14. I didn't see it as I was born in 1977 but OJ Simpsons season is easily one of the best in NFL history. Yet if watch the highlights he had size, speed and an ability to stop and start without missing a beat. It's easy to see when he probably amongst the 5 best RBs of all time. His 1975 season might have been better all wish his additional receiving yards/TDs.
  15. Only because they were forced to put their true LG at LT. Don't forget we did extend Mike White in the middle of the season.
  16. and we could have his replacement already in toe with Camarda. (pun intended).
  17. Point being both were thrown short and again heavily targeted. From a statistically stand point if you give Keon 55 more targets his stats increase, right? I will agree he isnt a MCConkey or Worthy but that IS THE POINT WE DIDN'T NEED THEM we needed an outside WR that could hit down the sideline which Coleman showed he can do on occasion, he still needs to improve no doubt and am sure he will. Now I get you view Coleman as a big slot but time will tell on that.
  18. Only guy on that list worth cutting is Von, the rest I don't see the savings vs finding a replacement does anything to help us. I wouldn't be opposed to package AJE to acquire a Garrett or Crosby back in a trade.
  19. and guess what, that's how Worthy and McConkey were used by LAC and KC yet because the rest of their receiving corps funneled passes to one guy where we didn't with Coleman. Why? because we scheme guys open to allow Josh to almost always have a guy to throw too. Again to me the difference between Keon and guys like Worthy and McConkey is volume of targets. You give Keon the same amount of targets am sure Keon right with them in regards to receptions and yards and TDS maybe even better since Keon was almost twice YPC than either one of them or maybe just about the same because of a lesser catch percentage.
  20. Most of the offensive line could start on playoff teams, James Cook could. Shakir likely start in the slot for some not all playoff teams. Gregg Rousseau likely start with most playoff caliber teams, Ed Oliver and Matt Milano. Terrell Bernard might be 50/50 guy. Now are all of them best of the best talent? No, but you can't have all pros at every position in today's NFL.
  21. and he was a pretty good WR in college. I've said it before and will say it again Keon reminds me of Muhsin Mohammed in that he's lengthy and does have some RAC abilities, will he ever be a great top 5 #1 WR? No but he can still be an above average WR in this league.
  22. Or hopefully a QB like Dart falls to us and we can take him at #30 cuz you know BPA.
